How reliable are gaming laptops in general? Does it matter how intensely they are used?
I am about to buy my first gaming laptop. I never had a desktop either, just a regular laptop.
I am worried about the possibility of it randomly breaking. I've heard stories from friends of their laptops overheating and burning the motherboard or significantly dropping in performance.
Is this a common occurrence, or does it depend on the model of the laptop and how they're used? Are there any models known for their durability and reliability, or is this not something manufacturers optimize for?
I don't really care about graphics or performance either. I just want to be able to play some modern games, like Baldur's Gate 3, at 60 fps on medium settings at 1080p. Would using the laptop for such purposes make it degrade slower, compared to trying to max everything out, or could it still overheat and die for no reason?
If you know any particular models that stand the test of time, please recommend them, so that I can look into it!
