I'm looking for a tattoo artist who specializes in this type of, floral, realism, or something like that. Any recommendations?
I'm 38F, was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at 17 and hoshis at 30 (by a wholistic RN who ran panels my PCP wouldn't).
This week, I went in for my physical and found my T3 and T4 were normal but my TSH was elevated at 7.4. My PCP is increasing my levothyroxine from 75 to 88. And I'm open to that, I just have a lot of Dr trauma and no longer just assume doctors are automatically making the best decision.
I have an endocrinologist but I don't like him much. He's knowledgeable, but very dismissive of my input and with the aforementioned Dr trauma, that doesn't sit well with me. I've asked to switch doctors within the clinic and was told "we don't allow that here."
Should I get a new Endo at a new clinic and see how that goes? Should I go see my old Endo and just see if he agrees with increasing the levo? Should I stop overthinking it and just roll with what my PCP suggested?
My fear is that Doctors are going to miss something important (because it's happened to me a lot). My body isn't 'average' and almost never falls into what's "typical" for whatever condition we're looking at. Most doctors only seem able to respond to "norms" and dismiss me when I try to advocate for myself, which has caused me a lot of unnecessary BS in the past. So I just get nervous when I don't know what I don't know.
If it matters, my cholesterol was also through the roof, so they're sending me to a cardiologist as well.
Would love any feedback or suggestions. Please be kind, I'm not sure how much of this reaction is fear/trauma based and how much is a reasonable concern.
Spock reptile sanctuary in Des Moines, Iowa had a devastating fire this weekend. They're looking for any sort of support that can be provided
My husband really likes exploring the shallow parts of lakes and swamps and boggy areas for critters and plants. He also went through a "giant magnet" phase, fishing for metal bits in streams, rivers and lakes.
Any suggestions for gadgets or gizmos that might make a good gift? Things he has: Handheld microscope Nice snorkel mask and flippers Giant magnet Nice knives and flashlights Containers for looking at specimen
I was considering getting him an endoscopic camera that attached to your phone...I don't know. He's a nerdy, tech-aware guy, so I worry that I wouldn't get the right thing.
Other interests of his include video games (don't ask me which, from what I can tell he plays hundreds of them), magic the gathering, dragn dice, unmatched and other group games. He's a completionist though, so these interests are harder to buy for because if he wants it, he has probably already bought it himself.
I would love any suggestions, even if they're only "adjacent" to the listed interests!
