Doing devils dome end of August, any other recommendations?

I’m doing my first solo in the last week of August and since I planned so late, this was the only reservation I could swing to still get some of that cascades feel. Any other recommendations on potential day hikes/overnighters in the area that don’t require permit? If any do require permits, what are the odds of a walk up getting secured?

How much experience is required for a multi day solo

Is it a good idea to do my first solo in the north cascades, Devils dome loop? I’ve been wanting to do a trip but scheduling conflicts have made it hard for friends to come. First solo is daunting so any advice would be amazing. I did a 3 night, 4 day in glacier national park with a summit and that went very well, however that was with 4 people. Once again, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I was really eyeing the black lacquer for quite some time until I came across this beauty. Couldn’t be happier

Anyone else feel like this car attracts misfortune?

12 hours ago i obliterated a skunk, and as a result my entire interior and exterior reek of skunk odor. Thought to get a nice wash to wash away some debris to help the smell dissipate and manage to run over a tube of industrial grease, splattering the side of my car and wheel well.
