Saw this at Zara. Please tell me this was made using a machine somehow and not horrifying sweatshop labor.

It’s a really cute bag and it doesn’t feel too flimsy, amazingly.

Please note, I would never ever purchase something like this from a fast fashion place.

I don’t see how they can offer this for €40 unless machine made or they paid someone €2 to make it.

If a person made this by hand, I assume it would go for at least €200. The materials alone would be costly. No wonder artisans have trouble with s*lling their handmade goods at reasonable prices!

(Idk why that word isn’t allowed but I don’t know what other word to use!)

I read too many posts and am overwhelmed. :-) Smallest mini reader with touch screen and front light for less than €100.

I am in Portugal. Please keep suggestions to items available here and not from the US. China is ok (somehow that’s cheaper shipping, idk why.)

I understand the XTeink X4 Pro is coming soon, but I don’t see anything official in the sub for it, just a blog post that everyone keeps linking from some random guy who isn’t affiliated with the company.

I’ve heard about OBOOK5 but cannot find that anywhere.

I saw a Famue BF07 on Vinted for cheap but it apparently only supports TXT not EPUB or other formats.

What other mini readers are there?

Palma is too big for what I want. I want it to be smaller than my phone. And I also don’t need an eink phone.

I’m ok with buying secondhand if I can find it. But I don’t even know what to search for right now.

I can use Calibre to convert books to whatever format and remove DRM. No problem.

I only have Mac, not Win, so if any hardware flashing etc needs to be done, I have to be able to do it via Mac.

Thanks so much! It’s also ok to tell me this doesn’t exist. All the info is just a blur right now and I think I’d do better with some guidance from the community. :-)

Recently watching a lot chaser videos. Question about what seems to be a lack of appropriate attire for going through rubble and flood waters.

I am asking this because I am genuinely curious. I am not trying to malign anyone. Maybe there’s a reason for this that I am not aware because it doesn’t come up in videos.

Why are they wearing sandals or flip flops when going through rubble? Or not bringing waders or at least tall rubber boots when going after hurricanes?

I know they’re already risking a lot just getting the videos.

But going through a pile of rubble that used to be house and likely has rusty nails along with all other kinds of nasty sharp, shabby is just asking to get tetanus or worse from even a scrape on your bare foot or leg. Flip flops and sandals don’t have the same kind of grip that a good pair of hiking boots would. I would not want to be slipping and sliding over wet, splintered wood in sandals trying to rescue someone. I’ll end up falling into something and getting myself in need of rescue!

If you’re going to chase a hurricane, you know you’re gonna likely end up in at least mid-calf water. Why not bring waders or at least tall rubber boots?

I grew up in a flood-prone area and the news CONSTANTLY reminded viewers to not go into flood waters because you have no idea what’s in there. There could be sharp pieces of metal or glass. Not to mention snakes, rats, etc depending on location.

Many chasers seem to be very empathetic and will stop a chase to check if there are survivors after seeing a house or building get hit by a tornado. They help clear debris after a hurricane.

They clearly have situational awareness.

So why are they running around in footwear that will slide off in a moment, potentially causing serious injury and making them another victim taking up vital resources that should be reserved for the community?

What am I missing?

Made a bracelet with my one-step looper g

I think it’s all right for a first attempt!

It was a bit harder than I expected because the loops came out wonky a lot, even though I was making the wire straight with nylon pliers and following all the rules.

Quite often, the snipper part didn’t work and the loop had a tail. It would not come off with just pliers, I had to cut it off, and then the loop itself got all out of shape.

I feel like this should have been a 15-20 minute project and it took me 1.5 hours. Oh well! Hopefull that I’ve picked up some kind of skill and it will be easier next time.

Using the looper is kind of meditative when it’s working fine! ☺️

What is this and how do I use it? Is it supposed to be two separate pieces?

Found this in my stash and can’t remember what it is.

I assume it’s a toggle clasp. But the pieces are connected. So I don’t understand they’d go together.

Am I to separate the jump ring connecting them? If so, then how do I connected the end of a necklace or bracelet as the remaining loops are very, very small.

I tried using Google Image search but it kept showing me pendants, not whatever this is.

Thanks for any help!

I’m overthinking, please bear with me: question about stringing beads

Is it really just …. Putting beads on a string?

I have Fireline and Miyuki thread. A bunch of 11/0 Delicas and seed beads.

I just tie a knot at one end and then add beads?

I feel like I have got to be missing something. 😂

There’s no secret hidden step when putting beads on the string?

Are there any maker spaces in Lisbon? 3D printers, sewing machines, etc.

Edit: yes I’ve searched, but I didn’t find anything, hence why I’m asking. As stated below, I don’t know the Portuguese words to use for search. Thank you.
——-
I’m not sure what terms I’d search in Portuguese to find these places, if they exist.

If you don’t know what they are, they’re a shared workspace with various tools and machines that you can use for a monthly fee.

This way you don’t need to buy and have room for a 3D printer or fancy sewing machine or whatever. You pay a small fee and can use all the machines at the space.

It’s great for both kids and adults.

Thanks for any help!

YouTube color with me/tutorials - Ohuhu alcohol markers, bold & easy, tell you which color being used and show techniques clearly

Hi! I’m trying to find some color with me or tutorial videos that tell me which marker they’re using at the time they use it and also maybe the technique they’re using.

Are there any color with me or tutorials that go through Jade Summer or Bobbie Goods pages? I have some of those books so it would be helpful to follow along.

I guess I’m looking for a Bob Ross style of video where they explain what they’re doing, which marker(s) they’re using, and do the whole page.

I’ve been searching YouTube but haven’t quite found what I’m looking for.

Thanks!

Rewatching and question about Jack's big idea in S3E21

Jack tells Rose that if they don't "kill everyone who's gonna show up here in about an hour" it won't matter where Bernard is.

Then he says to Sayid that the radio tower is about a day's walk.

I thought that they were to do something at the tower in sync with the folks on the beach.

How is that possible if the tower is 6-8 hours away and the Others are coming in an hour?

What did I miss?

Rewatching and confused about something in S2

When the Others kidnap Michael, he's taken to that Potemkin-style village. That seems like a lot of effort for just one guy. There were at least a dozen Others hanging around what at first glance appears to be a bustling, if impoverished village. Someone is cooking, people are doing things, stuff looks lived in, not abandoned.

Their clothes are tattered and dirty. They're dirty, themselves.

Why? I just keep thinking how much effort that whole thing is. They've keeping up this pretense for weeks because they also moved barefoot through the jungle in their costumes (which is crazy pants) to scare the Tailies.

I've tried searching on the sub but I can't find what I'm looking for.

Do they ever give a reason that they had this whole pretense going on instead of just taking them to a holding room or something at the existing Dharma compound? Or any of the other weird places on the island? They didn't need to pretend to be subsistence-level hunter-gatherers.

Why do so many online shops only sell assorted options, instead of allowing you to choose a specific one? Sorry if it’s been asked, didn’t find anything searching.

I’m not a huge collector and I don’t have kids, so maybe this is common with other types of toys, too.

I live in Portugal and all the online shops except Amazon mostly sell squishes in assorted lots like this.

This is for sizes from very small to medium, I guess. For ref, 30 cm =11.811 in

Why don’t they just say what they have stock of and sell that?

Really want to make something with this stitch but idk what

I just love this stitch!

I’ve done a few rows and it’s lovely.

But idk what to make with it!

It might look cool as a pillow case or throw, but I’m worried the many strands for the loops will get caught easily on buttons and watch bands and little kitty claws.

What would you make with this?

The YT video is here https://youtu.be/r3O\_ebt3dTA

Just a fluffy pink cape that photographs red for some reason. Haven’t seen Frankie anywhere at all.

All fluff, no kitty?

Just rewatched the scene. S3E3 36:05

She turns over two cards.

After the first one, a crow hits the window.

After the second, the crow breaks through the window.

Are the cards shown or discussed in a later scene in another episode?

I’ve rewatched this a lot and I can’t recall ever finding out what the cards were.

Thanks!
