Should I join the military at my age?

I am in my 30s and losing hope for finding a solid career. I am stuck in a dead end job with no hope of finding another. I've been applying for nearly 2 years with no offers. I'm getting so desperate that I'm considering joining the military just to have consistent employment and a place to stay.

Is anyone else in their 30s and still don't have a true career?

When i graduated with my bachelors in my early 20s I didn't really know what to do. I got a degree that really has no value unless you go to professional school or pursue a doctorate. I knew I didn't really want to do either so I just settled for jobs I could get. Unfortunately this was the worst thing to do because now I have years of job experience but they are the types of jobs that teach you little to no useful skills. when applying to jobs I feel like nothing really fits me. It's either apply for low/entry level jobs and be considered overqualified(this is what I usually do) or apply to jobs that I know are more at my level and be considered under qualified because my resume is lackluster. I am about to graduate with a masters degree in a different field but it feels like it will be for nothing. I have taken courses throughout the years to learn skills like SQL, data analysis, UX design but these things have not really helped. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I think I may just be stuck in very low skilled, low paid jobs.

How to get rid of chemically smell from wig?

I bought a natural textured wig recently to give my hair a break from slick backs and braids. I soaked the wig in apple cider vinegar and water then washed and conditioned it but it still has that chemically smell. Is there anything I can do to get rid of it or is it just something that dissipates over time and you just have to deal with it when you first get a new wig?

▲ 5 r/lonely

Something I don't think gets talked about enough when it comes to loneliness/not having any friendships/relationships....

The lack of connections and help finding work especially when the job market is trash like it is now. I am trying to get out of a toxic work environment and finding work without connections is extremely difficult. Everyone else has someone who can recommend them for a role while I have to do everything the hard way. And most jobs already have someone in mind so if you don't know anyone you are fucked. What do you do when you don't have connections? Making them is pretty much impossible after a certain age.

How many of you work fully remote?

My dream is to get a fully remote job. I'm in school trying to get into accounting. I know as an entry level person I am going to get the worst schedules and forced into the office everyday but I eventually want to work remotely. How easy is it to find fully remote accounting jobs?

Who do you guys make as your beneficiaries?

I don't have anyone to put as a beneficiary😞. I am childfree but also foreveralone and I don't have a relationship with my parents/siblings due to me being abused by them. I have previously used family but I don't want them as my beneficiary because they are truly awful people.

Are there industries that are somewhat fair to black people?

I am about to quit a job due to racial abuse and being targeted by racist, bitter, spiteful, low achieving asians and latinos. I know the job market is essentially cooked so I'm prepared to be unemployed for a while. I am actively choosing my self respect and mental health over being treated like shit by hateful asians and latinos. Does anyone have any advice on which employers are more fair? Growing up I always heard the public sector was more fair but I have had the worst experiences in the public sector.

I will be graduating later this year with a masters of accounting. I am an older student and this will be a career change for me. I am having difficulty finding entry level accounting work. I'm looking at accounting tech/clerk, bookkeeper and similar roles. I am paying out of pocket for this degree as my current employer does not offer tuition reimbursement. I am feeling really down because I feel like I am wasting my time and money on a degree that will lead nowhere.

I hate what I do and I know I will always be struggling if I don't make some changes now. I am excited to start something new but scared of having to start at the bottom at my age. What are good careers to start at an older age? I know reddit is all about the trades but I do not feel these are good careers to start at middle age. Our bodies are breaking down and most don't have the energy for such physically demanding jobs.
