Why are people defending this so hard

This question is being posted to understand, not to attack anyone.

I’m sure most people here know what I’m referring to, but just in case, I’m talking about PlayStation not doing physical disc anymore after 2028.

I’ll be the first to admit, I’ve bought a lot of digital copies over the last few years(yes, I’m aware that I’m part of the problem). I’m still concerned with this move despite that.

I know companies in the past have admitted to hiring accounts and to using bots to change narratives to favor their company. I’m not saying Sony has done this as there is no proof of such. BUT if that’s not the case, why are so many here fighting against those that want to keep physical discs being made? What do you have to gain from this?

This isn’t a situation where we’re having to choose one or the other. Digital will continue to be a thing whether they still sells discs or not. Those of you that play only digital games will lose NOTHING if Sony changes its mind. If people boycott, it costs you NOTHING(unless you work for Sony).

Some of you have literally been attacking anyone that says they’re upset with the situation. Unless you work for Sony, I see literally no reason for this. So I’m asking again, why?

PS. I made this post for r/playstation and got immediately deleted. But as we’re going through this, I feel this is something we all need to start asking, hence I’m posting this here.

Sony isn’t just PlayStation. We can hit them everywhere

Just a reminder, Sony is an electronics company, not just gaming. Obviously, everyone knows this, but it may not be at the front of their minds right now. When picking your next TV, picking out a pair of headphones, etc., keep this in mind.

If there’s another option, I suggest I’ll not buy a Sony product anymore.

Voting is not pointless

Most adults know that voting is not pointless. Well, neither is voting with your wallets. I see comment after comment here stating that it doesn’t matter if you don’t buy a game because so many others will. This is coming from either children, bots, or simply uneducated adults. We all know how important voting is but yet will let random people on the internet convince us otherwise when it comes to purchases.

When outer worlds 2 was coming out, many made it clear they would not buy it due to the price increase, they ended up dropping the price. Obviously this game is at a very different level than outer worlds 2, but that does not simply make voices irrelevant.

I’m sure everyone knows why I’m saying this here and now. I don’t even need to name the game. And if it is your opinion that they’ve done nothing wrong, by all means, buy it, preorder it, get the ultimate edition. That’s your choice, but it’s also everyone else’s choice if they decide not to.

This post isn’t to dissuade anyone from buying. It is not even to say that it is good or bad. It is simply to let you know that despite what the internet tries to tell you, your choice does matter!

Fitting ending

I beat the remake, during credits I pressed the button to skip but didn’t hold it. After that it wouldn’t let me skip at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game, and this wasn’t a big deal, but I thought it was fitting that it finished with one last bug lol.

A couple people had me fooled

I thought I was the only one looking forward to Lords of the fallen 2. Obviously I was very wrong. This is just the steam wishlist during the week of summer game fest.

Greenway

First off, I’m only on Knightfall so far, so if anything happens to him, please don’t spoil it for me.

Everyone here seems to be talking about “bond girls” but my favorite person so far is Greenway. I love the banter between the 2. He’s also one of those loveable kind of assholes that really grows on you. He’s cynical but keeps going despite everything that he’s been through because it’s still the right thing to do.

Maybe it’s not really a hot take as I haven’t spent much time in this subreddit, but he is my favorite person in the game so far. The way these games go, I know he’ll probably die before the end, but I am hoping they decided to let him retire in peace. I’ll know soon enough though.

I didn’t completely hate the final episode but…

I’ve never seen a bigger waste of characters than what they did with gen V. It’s really like he completely forgot about them, and scrounged up the few actors from it on short notice that he could to make a quick cameo. They made all of gen V pointless, which sucks because I really enjoyed that show.

Edit: funny how many comments are asking “what’s gen v?” or “who are these people?”, did you not look at what subreddit you’re in? Lmfao

Honest question

I know this may be hard to keep civil, but as much as possible, I would like to keep this post/thread/comments civil. This is not meant as an attack, simply an inquiry and discussion.

I believe the “top 1% poster” in the second screen shot is the only one of those I’ve talked to about this, but there have been several “top 1% commenters” I’ve asked. I haven’t gotten an answer, some ignore me, some attack me.

Honest question though, just like in the first screen shot, why be a top 1% commenter(or poster) for something you don’t like? Why invest so much time into something that doesn’t make you happy?

I understand not liking the game, not every game is for everyone. This game also has flaws, there’s no denying that, but I still have a lot of fun playing it. THAT’S why I’m here, why are you here?

Edit: there’s 2 screenshots here, second one is literally the guy saying he’s made 5 posts recently “shitting on the game”. First screen shot was obviously not as bad but was the most recent person I posed the question to.

The complainers here can be truly exhausting. PA put out a great patch giving us what we’ve been asking for. Yes, there is bug with dispatch missions. It’s nothing game breaking, you can simply not do any new ones for the night. We also all know that PA will have a hotfix for it by the morning, they always do. Some people here want to pretend it’s the end of the world anytime there’s a bug, despite how fast they get fixed.

If it’s really that bad for you, take the night off, spend it with your family, touch some grass, and play the game in the morning when it’s fixed.

For the rest of us, let’s enjoy kicking the crap out of the enemies again lol!!
