Scan Model Cars

Scan Model Cars

Hello so I recently purchased a Raptor from Creality and my goal was to scan an entire 1/24 model kit to print on my resin printer. Yes I’m aware that’s a lot of work and time but I enjoy making multiple builds of certain vehicles and some of these kits can get very expensive so I figured I’d give it a shot and it’s been eh so far. I cannot get a great scan of the body, it just never comes out 100% right. This is my very first scan of the interior and it came out amazing but my question is how can I achieve this with almost every part? I’m okay with certain amount of errors on the scans and I can deal with it but it’s to the point where I can’t even bother printing it. I read that scanners struggle when it comes to shiny objects and the car body isn’t super shiny but it has a little small shine to it. I ordered scanning spray to see if that’ll help but I’m honestly close to giving up. I’m in the return window for the scanner so I thought about returning it. Do you guys think this is too impossible and ambitious of a task to do? Any help would b great

3D Printed 200sx

Hello guys so I’ve never attempted any of like this before, this is a tooned 200sx in Id say a 1/12 scale? It’s about 15 inches long but anyways. It’s 3d printed and has tons of layer lines and obviously the holes where I had to join everything together but anybody have any insight on how I could approach this? I’ve so far just printed the body and moving onto the bumper. Im even questioning if my Eclipse HP-CS would be able to tackle this as it’s pretty big lol! But anyways if anybody has any tips on how I could go about this I’d love the help! Biggest kit I’ve ever built was 1/24 so this is definitely a step up

Any cubic Clear Resin

Hello so I am trying to print Anycubic clear resin in my S4U 12k and I’m getting very bad side layer lines no matter what, I’ve tried adding more supports and reorienting them and I still get bad layer lines. Settings in 3rd slide and support settings in 4th slide. I tried clear coating after curing but since it’s clear it’s very visible and pretty much makes the piece useless. Could this be sanded out? Any help is appreciated

So my automatic transmission went out recently on my 05 Nissan 350z, had 2 shops quote me 3k for everything out the door but I went with a shop more local to me and I’ve been going to for a while. They quoted me 1900 on parts with the used transmission being 58k miles on it and a 1 year warranty. Everything else is great on the car and has 143k miles so I went ahead and went through with it on the down payment. The problem is I’m seeing people saying going the used transmission route is a lot more risky and could go out. I already paid for it so I guess I’m just seeing if I made the right call or not. Thanks

Hello I’m looking to import a JZS171 from CarsFromJapan.com and I’ve got my eye on one listed at 5.5k, I know there’s fees and tariffs when it comes to this so what’s that like? This is my first time and I’m looking to spend 8-9k max as there is one by me for 10k. I’m going to be importing to California and driving over there to pick it up as I’m in Arizona. Has anybody had experience importing it? I would love to know any more information thanks!
