Planning my 3rd annual trip to NZ… what have I missed?

Hi everyone!

I first went to NZ in April 2025 for just a couple days, at the tail end of an Australia vacation. I stayed in Queenstown and did:

Paragliding in Queenstown
Kiwi Park, Skyline, Amisfield
Milford Sound tour and scenic flight

BUT I had such an amazing time that I went back again in April 2026. This time, I had 3 weeks! I did:

Some Auckland wandering for a few days
Waitomo glow worms cave and Hobbiton (loved!)
Doubtful sound overnight cruise
Jet boat ride in glenorchy
4 nights in Queenstown. Went back to kiwi park and Amisfield.
3 nights in Lake Tekapo (stargazing!)
3 nights in Wellington (rained out most of my plans)
Zealandia eco sanctuary tour

I wanted to go paragliding in Wanaka and do a seal seeing tour in Wellington, but the weather wasn’t in my favor for those ventures.

I just found another unbeatable flight back in March (instead of my usual April) 2027. However, I feel like I’ve already seen… a lot. 🤣 I’ve so far skipped Dunedin and Christchurch, and didn’t get to see much of Wellington.

I’ve attached a “heat map” of where I’ve been so far. What would you consider unmissable, based on what I’ve done already? Big nature girl, big LOTR fan. Andddd I will most likely be renting a car again. Thank you in advance!

We have a new little friend in the backyard 🥹

Anything pertinent we should know about providing backyard shelter for this little guy? He loves the pillow we left out 🤣🤭

How long after a 9.5 violation week can I file a grievance for it?

Is it 5 working days? 5 calendar days?

I went wayyy over 9.5 every day for week ending 7/11 but only worked 2 days last week, week ending 7/18.

I’m Tuesday-Saturday, and am scheduled off this Tuesday.

Can I file for w/e 7/11 when I go in on Wednesday 7/22 if I’ve only worked 2 days since the ending of the 9.5 week?

Been getting armpit Botox quarterly for 5 years… it has worked very well for me. But compensatory low back sweat is becoming too much to deal with

Has anyone here been able to get Botox injections in their low back for compensatory sweating? I work outside in Florida (ugh) and lately I’ve been dealing with a LOT of low back sweat, which has been creating a super unattractive “V” of sweat going down my shorts. As a woman, this has been causing a lot of social anxiety and discomfort. I’ve got drysol and qbrexza wipes, but have been told that those are for armpits only. My dermatologist has always advised me against getting miradry.

Any input?

Is there a marriage duration requirement for the central states pension?

Will my wife be eligible for survivor benefits on my pension if she and I get married 2 months before I retire? Or is there a “minimum mandatory” marriage duration requirement?

Anyone around here work on vintage grandfather/grandmother clocks?

My buddy has had this exact clock for no less than 50 years. It runs, it chimes, it’s beautiful… but the time is way off and I can’t seem to find a reliable repairman for this vintage grandmother clock. I don’t want to “force” the minute or hour hands into their correct position as I’m worried it’ll throw off the whole system.

Any ideas? Referrals?

Looks like we’ve officially lost Amazon call tag returns to USPS.

I’ve always been able to pick “UPS pickup” for $7.99 and get my call tag at the center. No more, I guess 🙄

Anyone know where this might have been taken?

Taken by my grandma in 1964. Definitely Amsterdam. Might say “the guild house” on the bottom…?

Do volunteer days not count toward 9.5?

T-S driver here. Volunteered to work Monday (6th report) last week and ended up working 12.3. I was told by my steward that because I volunteered to work, the day didn’t count toward my 9.5 grievance.

Any truth to this?
