Picked up these 5 bottles over the last two weeks, what do you think I should pickup next?

Ones I've been thinking about picking up still:

  • Dr Bird
  • Dr Bird Coconut
  • Dr Bird Pineapple
  • Sihhenge Pineapple
  • Planteray Stiggens Pineapple
  • Planteray Xaymaca
  • Worthy Park Single Estate
  • Worthy Park 12 Year 2006
  • Old Brigand Black Label
  • Papalin 5 Year
  • Hamilton Breezeway
  • Hamilton Beachbum Berrys Navy Grog Blend
  • Hamilton Puesto Blend
  • Hamilton West Indies 1670 (aka New York)
  • Hamilton Florida Rum Society
  • Chairman's Reserve 9 Year (Small Batch - around 1500 bottles in batch)
  • Foursquare Isonomy
  • Foursquare 2005
  • Foursquare Equidem
  • Foursquare Penultimus
  • Foursquare Epilogue
  • La Maison & Velier Flag Series Guyana 1998
  • Appleton Hearts 2002
  • Holmes Cay Barbados 2002 "The Rarest"
  • Single Cask Nation Diamond MPM 10
  • Rhumb Runner Fernandes Trinidad 18 Year Cask Strength

Any of these you think are worth grabbing?

Regarding the 5 bottles I just picked up. The Mr Fogg makes a better painkiller than the Pussers. That GH24 is good but not as good as the GH25 that I've had. The Paraguay not sure how I feel about that one it is decent though (4.5g added sugar sadly but it was on sale for $45). Picked up the bottle of 86 yesterday so still need to crack that one open.

Convince me not to get Gunpowder, I plan to use it for Painkillers.

Currently using Mr Fogg and enjoying it in painkillers but figured it’s time to try another bottle that’s basically meant to be used in painkillers.

Also restocking on probitas and Merchant Reserve… but I am wondering, should I get Hamilton breezeway instead this time around?

What other bottles? I still have el dorado 12 and already finished smith and cross but don’t plan to restock it yet since I have a bunch of Jamaican open already.

Which of these are must grabs or some of the harder to find ones?

So much to choose and not sure which brands/bottles are the best. Price doesn’t matter.

Which of these are worth picking up? I grabbed Fords today, hence why it’s blacked out on the picture.

Also, that last photo shows the Plymouth gin somehow leaking whenever I grab the bottle it just felt a little sticky although it doesn’t look like it not sure why that is.

Elephant worth it at that price? Never tried it but I plan to get Plymouth Navy and Fords while at Specs.

Heading there in a few minutes. To pickup a few bottles. Eventually also want a bottle of Tanq 10, botanist and gunpowder gin as well.

What are you grabbing? I walked out with Merchant Reserve and another bottle of Smith & Cross. I keep wanting a bottle of El Dorado but for $100 it’s a lot when the standard 12 year is $30…

What gin(s) would you suggest for someone who is looking to make tiki drinks (Saturn, Suffering Bastard, Fog Cutter, and Humuhumunukunukuapua'a)?

  • Plymouth
  • Isle of Harris
  • Botanist
  • Barr Hill Tomcat
  • Monkey 47
  • Tanquerat No 10
  • Drumshanbo Gunpowder
  • Fords
  • Citadelle Jardin d'Ete

Or something else?

I was leaning towards Plymouth or Botanist. Any suggestions/directions are appreciated. Budget doesnt matter but really looking for the best bang for buck. I dont know much about gin besides the research on "best gins". Figured a crazy seasonal floral Hendricks would not be what I want when it comes to a tiki gin.

Picked up the 3 large syrup bottles today. What should I be making? I really just make mai-tais, hurricanes and painkillers.

I have the SC book, I have been making stuff like the Naked Ape, Zombie, and a few others and they are all good but for some reason when these drinks become 8-10 ingrediants they almost somehow always taste the same to me. Sure they are different but they just dont pop when drinking like a juicy hurricane or creamy pina colada.

What I think I still could use:

  • Probitas
  • Pusser's Gunpowder Proof
  • Coruba
  • Hamilton Navy Grog Blend
  • Denizen Merchant’s Reserve
  • Green Chartreuse
  • Liber & Co. Demerara Gum Syrup
  • Fee Brothers Grapefruit Bitters
  • Bittermens Elemakule Tiki Bitters
  • Campari
  • Aperol
  • Amaro Nonino
  • Cinnamon syrup (homemade)
  • Honey syrup (homemade)
  • all the fruits and juices but honestly White grapefruits since theyre so hard to get in general.

What would you be getting? Part of me wants to pickup Gunpowder Proof for the Painkillers and Coladas tomorrow.

Today’s trip to TW. Walked out with Liber syrups but was really tempted by the Gunpowder Proof and restocking Denizens, Probitas (what I use for painkillers now) and Smith and Cross since I’m out of those but also kind of want to try something new, ideally an “upgraded” mixer of anything.

u/lifeissoupimforkk — 25 days ago

Didn’t even know they made a handle of High West until now.

Sub $60, think it was $57 or something like that.

Best Painkiller / Pina Colada yet. Also LA is better than Real, have concluded this after my second drink using LA Coconut.

1.5 oz Probitas
0.5 oz cut and dry
1.5 oz pineapple juice
0.5 oz OJ
1oz coconut syrup
With organic nutmeg on top

Have you come up with an even better tasting version of a pina colada or painkiller?

1792 Aged 12 Year worth grabbing and is it still rare? Its all over town and Specs has like 5 on the shelf so figured it cant be one everyone gushes over...

I have tried Small Batch and I gifted it to someone. It got better over time but still with the 6+ bottles I already had opened I just gave it away since it was far from the favorite at the time beginning in my journey. I hear Sweet Wheat is sub par, I had chanced ot buy it many times earlier this year and passed. Now I'm seeing basically all on shelves but sweet wheat currently and the cognac one which Ive yet ot see on a shelf.

Worth grabrbing or just skip the $60 bottle and focus on another brand...

Current selection, any must try bottles not pictured?

Wanting to get another bottle of Denizens Merchant Reserve and Smith and cross but feel if I keep rebuying everything the selection will never go down. I just got another bottle of Appleton 12 last week and the El Dorado 12 is close to being empty as is the Probitas.

What bottles are worth grabbing next?

1 Example: Was thinking maybe replacing Probitas with Breezeway as an example or getting another bottle of Probitas and Breezeway.

Anyone else struggle choosing between repurchasing a bottle or trying something completely new/different?

Still wanting to grab...

  • Papalin 5 High Ester but it would need to be ordered online and shipped
  • El Dorado 15 (my 12 is almost gone)
  • Appleton 15
  • Hamilton Navy Grog Blend
  • Hamilton Breezeway (maybe even White Stache)
  • Worthy Park something (mixer)
  • Coruba
  • Rivers (red top) but its $100

On top of that I want another bottle of Smith & Cross and Denizens Merchant Reserve since I've already killed those bottles.

The problem is I cant keep replacing everything I've opened while also buying new stuff. Not trying to end up with 40+ open bottles come next year.

For example, I liked Doorly's 14 a lot (dark fruit, raisins, prunes), but when it ran out I replaced it with XO instead. I'm already on my second bottle of Appleton 12.

Anyone else run into this? How do you decide what gets repurchased, what gets replaced with something cheaper or more expensive, and what just gets remembered (in a good way) but never bought again?

Note: The problem isnt that nothing is getting consumed its that the "wishlist" keeps growing faster and it seems by the time the bottle is empty I'm already looking to pickup another one even though I know I should try something else.

First time seeing this red label repo. Is it extra special? Says Tahona crushed but arent they all hence the wheel topper.

The single barrel repo all the way on the right hand side of the photo is like a $90 bottle if I’m not mistaken, but this red one is like $53, both are repos....

For the sake of character limit I'll talk about me trying the Anejo at the bar. It was actually one of the better more smooth ones I drank that day. Only thing that beat it was the G4 XA. Bought that bottle of single barrel repo before they jacked the price up to that 90 or w/e I paid 75 i think 2 years ago maybe and it was decent. Honestly even at 75$ I wasnt planning to buy a second bottle of it. Never tried the Blanco, I will eventually but its not high on my list.

Which of these are a must buy? Also why is the Brugal cheaper than if you bought it without the glasses (like $10 cheaper)?

Which nonino? I don’t necessarily wanna get both Campari and Aperol in one day which one should I prioritize if I want to make fruity tiki drinks.

Trying to “unlock” more Smigglers cove drinks out of the book. Missing these cherry liquor Campari Aperol

Picked these up today, including the Banane liquor you raved about the other day + first impressions on the Probitas.

Never used Allspice Dram or Creme de Banane before so excited to crack them open. Yall convinced me to get the Banana liquor! That passionfruit syrup makes great hurricanes (my 3rd bottle now), out of their strawberry/mango/pricklypear/passionfruit the passionfruit is the best second best goes to prickly pear. I still want to get a bottle of their coconut one of these days.

Figured I also needed to grab Allspice finally to unlock a bunch of more tiki drinks from the SC book. Also the 750ml Allspice was $26 and so was the 375ml so I had to get the huge bottle. Anyone local (CenTex) need any Allspice let me know lol.

Quick notes after a couple (2) of sips from the Probitas (I couldnt wait to crack it): Very sweet (think liquid dessert), goes down pretty easy (doesnt feel like 57%) and has a bit of agricole/sugarcane taste to it. First thought was Alambique but much sweeter. I feel this could be a sipper or a mixer, trying to figure out what drink to make with it to see how it is. If you have tried it yourself let us know your thoughts/notes!

Decent selection at this TW but why is FS so much they upped the price on Equidem too (not like it’s selling). Lastly, convince me I need this banana liquor…

Lounge size 34A tops and medium panties, what other brands fit the same?

They fit great not loose or excess material. What other brands are easy regards sizing that’s also a good deal? I enjoy the lounge $100-120 sets very affordable id say.

Each colorway was originally at 150 prices each. As of right now there is only 36 red glaze and 131 gold glaze left.

With that said I’m sure the more realistic one will be sold out within the next week or more of it continues. Yesterday there were 40 red oxidized glaze left.

Anyone have photos of the gold one? Also if 100+ of yall have the red can we see more photos besides that 1 post from last week? They say none look the same…

Is it time to bite the bullet and get the red one before they all get scooped up?

First time paying $250+ (most I’ve paid so far for a mug was $100).
