The “Miss Hap”, coming in for a landing in this shot, is the oldest surviving example of the B-25 “Mitchell”. It was built in 1940/41 at the North American Aviation plant in Inglewood, CA
She flew past me early one evening with something in her beak. It was dark and it happened so fast, I couldn’t tell what it was. When I walked to the other side of the trees, I found her enjoying her meal.

Montauk Lighthouse was the first lighthouse in New York State the fourth-oldest active lighthouse in the country.
In service between 1937 through the end of World War Two, they had a max speed of 362 MPH and a range of 850 miles. Shot late last spring.
In 1907, congress appropriated $40,000 for the construction of a new lighthouse to replace the original one which was built to the west of and considered of little help to those entering the harbor. This new lighthouse was completed in 1912 in a Venetian Renaissance (Beaux Art) style. I shot this with a drone.
“Doc” is one of two airworthy B-29’s left flying in the world. Taken during the late May 2025.
Originally built in 1870, it was destroyed by fire in 1963. It was rebuilt in 1990 on its original foundation.
