Concapping = contractual capping, aka- class size limits, aka- moving students to other schools

A state investigation from last year found SCUSD to have discriminatory practices in their school enrollment and over-enrollment policies and procedures. It used to be "last in, first out," but that has changed.

Students who are McKinney-Vento (homeless), foster youth, in special day classes (SDC), have siblings at the school, or their parent works there are exempt from being concapped.

If a grade level needs to reduce its students to make room for a new student who lives in the zoned area for the school, potential concapped kids will be put into a lottery based on their enrollment date. Families will be notified before this happens and asked for volunteers first before the lottery takes place.

Hopefully this new system will cause less disruption to families and level the playing field in our neighborhood schools.

Within 30 seconds, I had two issues with men and their oversized vehicles in the Winco parking lot today.

1. Dumbass with beat up blue suburban: He's driving down the aisle with another car behind him. He passes a spot then decides THAT'S the one and starts reversing, forcing the car behind to start backing up as well. He then gets out of the shit wagon and waves his arms dramatically for them to back up even more. How tf are you gonna back up 7 spaces and act so rude to the person you're inconveniencing when there's DOZENS of other spots available?!

2. Dumbass in gigantic white truck: after watching the above scene, I check my mirrors/blind spot and start backing out. When I'm halfway out, my car starts beeping and there is a ginormous truck approaching to attempt passing behind me. I slam on the brakes, honk, and raise my arms like, "wtf??" The dumbass stops while still behind me, hangs out the window mocking me. I flip him off and he finally drives off in a cloud of entitled exhaust so I can finish backing up.

And the funny part is not even 2 minutes before, a woman driving by complimented my outfit while I was loading up the bags. It was so jarring to have the dumbasses unite immediately after!

Making it my life's mission to share this show with all my friends, especially the ones who don't have HBO! Got a friend coming over today for the 3rd watch party I've hosted and got a couple more planned for summer. Also going to a Heated Rivalry Comedy Show in June!!

How are you spreading the gospel of our favorite gay hockey show this weekend?

I'm so done with students only wanting to read Dogman! I want them to read stuff they like, but it can't be the ONLY thing you read, especially as you get into higher grades. It's like, 1st grade reading level, there's no vocabulary building, and the worst part of all: he's a fucking cop! 😂

Earlier in the year, I said if you checked out Dogman last week, no Dogman this week. Now the last few times we went to the library, I flat out said NO DOGMAN. And this past visit, they actually *cheered* when I said it. Forcing them to branch out actually got them liking other books.

I somehow got like 15 kids to read through the whole Amulet series, we still fuck with Wings of Fire and Babysitter Club graphic novels, and now some of them are getting into I Survived.

Just say no (or every once in a while, but not every day) to Dogman!!!!!!

Obligatory I love this fucking show, I'm on my [redacted] reheat and having a great time showing it to all my friends that don't have HBO!

I've noticed two instances of the ADR or voiceovers being off, and wondered if anyone else has noticed them or any other errors.

1. During Shane's tuna meltdown, Ilya says, "Go?" but it's definitely not his voice. I think it's Kip's voice from ep3 when Scott is "saying a bunch of stuff."

2. During the Admirals' championship game, the announcers reference Marleau and Connors currently playing, but we know they play for Boston and aren't in the game!
