So I’ve been teaching this 9th grader english for almost a year now. When we started, she could barely form a proper sentence and now she’s much better than before in my opinion, even her teacher has said that shes improved.
Her problem is, she doesnt think for herself, I tell her to write descriptive essays and she just doesnt know what to write about. I tell her to analyze some dialogues in a play and she doesnt know what to write about, she just does not think at that level and I’ve made her practice so many times. Her mom is extremely strict about studies. The girl isnt even failing, shes getting the equivalent of a B- but I guess her mom isnt satisfied at all.
What do I do? I cant afford to lose her as a student.
