Off Duty India Scammed Me - What to do next, please help

I placed an order on Off Duty India by mistake and cancelled it almost immediately. I also received a WhatsApp confirmation for the order, where I cancelled it again. Just to be safe, I emailed their support team as well, clearly stating that I had placed the order by mistake and requested them to cancel it.

I then received confirmation from them that my order had been cancelled.

However, two days later, I received an email saying that my order had been dispatched. I was shocked because I had cancelled the order well before it was dispatched and had even received confirmation that it was cancelled.

I immediately contacted their support team about the issue. They told me that they were unable to cancel the order from their end and instructed me to accept the order and then request a return.

I followed their instructions and accepted the order. I then contacted them again and asked them to process the return, only to be told that the product was not eligible for return.

i have all the proofs. pls guide me what do i need to do next

Curious case of USAR

why usar is so much hated. well i'll be joining college this year and i am stuck with 3 options

USAR - AI&DS
(40min daily travel)

MSIT - CSE
(2hr daily travel)

MAIT - CSE
(3hr daily travel)

i have a very strong alignment towards usar as it is close to my home but almost everyone around me is suggesting to take MSIT or MAIT. i want to know why?

is daily travel time not at all relevant?
few things i have heard about usar is - faculty is shit, management is not supportive and obviously the placements are bad and most important of all, the crowd is dead - but how's that possible

if you look at the cutoffs you'll see msit and usar have similar cutoff so similar crowd goes in both the colleges but how one becomes better and another become bad.

i am so much confused over which college to choose, i can really use some guidance here. thanks

Seniors help your lil bro in deciding upcoming 4 years of his life

college hunt is going on and i am stuck with two options - both have their own pros and cons, help me decide which is comparatively better

JIIT Noida Sector 128 (CSE) vs GGSIPU East Campus USAR (AI-DS)

Jaypee Noida -
• Private College
• CSE
• 13LPA Avg. 8LPA Median
• Total cost for 4 years - 21 Lakh
• Total travel time daily - 2hrs
• Strict attendance (80% minimum told but seniors said 60-65% will work)
• Fairly small campus (feels like school)
• Active clubs and regular activities
• Good coding culture
• Batch strength - 1100+ (including both 62 and 128 campus)

USAR -
• Govt. College
• AI-DS
• 6LPA Avg. 6LPA Median
• Total cost for 4 years - 12 Lakh
• Total travel time daily - 45mins
• Chill attendance (some seniors said 10-20% will also work)
• Small but good campus
• Clubs are emerging
• No coding culture
• Batch strength - 150

USAR clubs are emerging and coding culture is not so prominent because the campus is established in 2021 itself so its fairly new and clubs&societies are still forming up.

Why i am confused between them :
- Well if its Jaypee 62 campus then i would have taken that blindly but its not, 128 campus which is allocated to me is pretty difficult to reach and the campus itself is very small, as i told above - it feels like a school but again the crowd/culture and placements of jaypee is far better than my other option, usar.

The placements of jaypee are good enough to take it but its not assured what will be the scenario in 2030. And my reasons to not take usar must be fairly visible in its description (bad placements).

How to commute to JIIT 128?

I have been allotted JIIT Sector 128 CSE, and looking at the current cutoff trends, it's unlikely that I'll get upgraded to JIIT Sector 62.

JIIT 128 is around 20 km from my home, so I wanted to ask those of you who commute from home—how do you usually travel to campus?

I've heard about college buses with stops in Indirapuram, cab services, and the metro route, but I don't know much about any of them.

Bus service:
I live in Vaishali, so if there's a bus stop in Vaishali or Indirapuram, it would be convenient for me. I'd really appreciate it if someone who actually uses this service could explain how it works—bus routes, timings, charges, pickup/drop locations, and anything else I should know.

Cab services:
I've also heard that cab services are quite popular among students. If you use one, could you tell me how it works? What are the usual charges and timings? Since our class schedules can vary from day to day, how do cab services handle that?

Metro:
I'll probably use the metro only in emergencies since it's comparatively more time-consuming, but if anyone has experience with that route as well, I'd love to hear your suggestions.

Thanks in advance!
(sorry for this ai slop)

not at all enjoying my new macbook m5 air

this is my second laptop and i had a acer windows laptop before and i was really excited for a macbook but for some reasons i am not loving it instead i am missing my old windows laptop

my issues-

- switching between tabs is a mess here
- zooming in and out with 2 fingers seems laggy

- scrolling up and down with 2 fingers again seems laggy

- and dont get me started on how easy it was in windows to copy paste any text from here n there, in macbook copying text or photo or in general i should say dragging any stuff from one place to another is hard compare to windows

- why the hell i have to type my password everytime while opening my laptop, the finger sensor is waste stuff

is my macbook faulty or do i need to make some system settings or is macbook really like this only

MnC 62 OR CSE 128 - Elaborate answer

Placements will be near about same for both the branches so we are not taking that into consideration. (mnc still hasn't any batch placed but this speculation is off current trends)

A lot of you were discussing around campus life - if you are coming into jiit then forget about campus life (irrespective of the campuses). you can ask any senior about this they all will answer the same.

MnC 62 -

  • Main Campus (college hostels available in campus so no travel issue, campus situated into main noida city - lot of hangout places nearby)
  • Hard to score cgpa (MnC is the hardest branch in jiit)
  • Not much of sports facility
  • Better infra infact a lot better than 128

CSE 128 -

  • Wish town campus (Situated into some distinct part of noida - need to travel to explore good hangout places, no college hostels - again travel if you opt for hostels in main campus but you can avoid this by taking pg nearby as there are a lot of pg's available there with jiit crowd)
  • Easy to score cgpa (comparatively a lot easier than MnC)
  • Good sports facility
  • Small campus with relatively bad infra compare to main campus

Conclusion -

Both have their own pros and cons still if i had to choose -

I'll opt CSE 128 -

  1. if i am planning for higher studies as cgpa matters a lot
  2. if my parents allow to take pg nearby instead of hostel of main campus - honestly you can take pg then go for cse128 blindly
  3. if sports facility are must for me

for all other cases - go for MnC 62

JIIT Placements 2026

JIIT Noida Partial Placement Report Is Here : -

https://fsociety-jiit2.netlify.app/

Those who are applying for counselling and this confused about the Branch Priority Order -

CSE 62 > CSE 128 > IT 62 > CSE 128 Specl. > ECE 62 > ECM 128 > Others

Note : Not considering MnC here because its first batched hasn't passed yet so can't say anything about its placement
