You know how it didn't rain for basically a month and then we had a little at the start of the week?
Well the equivalent volume of water is currently running down Whiteladies road 🤦♀️
Bristol Water on the scene, looking after our water as ever.

I hope everyone is looking forward to seeing some balloons flying high over Bristol this coming weekend! How many mass ascents do you think we'll be treated to? I'm going with 4, reckon it might be a bit too windy for a couple of evening ones.
It get mentioned during most briefings (UK) and I am yet to understand what it means. Aren't we all running for fun? Am I missing something really obvious?
I walked past yesterday 11am ish and it wasn't open. Same thing today at around 2pm. I had a look in their window and there was nothing to say that they've closed, but I think the opening times had been scratched off? (the sun made it a bit difficult to see and I didn't have my glasses on so I could be wrong about that).
Does anyone know anything?
I read this letter in the Guardian yesterday. Do people agree that the 'coolest city' claim is pushed by UoB alumni? There are a lot of cool people and parts of the city outside of Clifton (I'd even argue that Clifton is one of the more... boring... areas).

However I completely agree that the problems in Bristol raised in the letter are considerable and seriously need to be addressed.
It put a huge smile on my face this morning
Roasted tofu, sweet potato and white potato seasoned with black pepper and rosemary; purple broccoli fried in butter and garlic; red cabbage sauerkraut and a big dollop of babaganoush.
Probably not to everyone's taste but I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Does anyone else get ITV News Central for "the news where you are" rather than Bristol & West Country? And does anyone know how to change it?
[I guess the News tag is sort of appropriate here?]
Has anyone tried making coffee porridge? I usually make my porridge with equal parts oats, milk and water, and I was thinking about swapping out the water for coffee. Has anyone done something similar? How did it turn out? Any tips?
I’ve had a few small(ish) work-related annoyances over the last couple of weeks, my contract ends in a few month’s time, and I have some family things going on in the background. Everything seems to have caught up with me today and I can’t focus on what I really need to be doing, which is working on a funding proposal so that I stand a chance of having a job once this contract ends. And motivation is very very low.
So, on days like today, what is something useful that I could be getting on with so that I still feel like I’ve accomplished something when I get home?
I know not everyone works a 9-5, but a lot do. I scroll more than I should while I'm at work. I don't usually feel too bad about it if it's a Friday afternoon. But a Monday morning? Probably should try to crack on with a few things instead.
