vrbo is a scam 😡

First time using the platform - I had to cancel a reservation I made 3 days after I initially requested it. The host agreed to the cancellation and vrbo confirmed and said the refund is on its way back. I waited TWO weeks and still didn’t get my money back. When I called them, they said they had already refunded me which is complete BS because I wouldn’t be calling them if that was the case. I ended up having to file a dispute with my credit card. Still trying to get my money back. Never using vrbo again, I’d rather pay double and stick with Airbnb, Booking.com or Expedia. Filthy liars and scammers, disgusting shady business and terrible customer service. Don’t get them a single cent or penny 😠

AITA for venting about a situation with a friend on social media?

For context, we were out at a dinner. We had a disagreement on what to order. I was upset with the choices being made so didn’t end up eating. They didn’t care. I was mad so I went on my Snapchat stories and vented about this friend and the situation. AITA for doing this?

Transitioning from a 70.3 to a full?

Contemplating doing a full distance but have only done a 70.3. How did those who have done both find the transition? What was the ramp up process? How much extra training time did you spend (on top of a full time job)? Guess I’m just looking for a realistic estimate to base off how achievable it would be to train for a full distance IM. Thanks in advance!

What should I do with this friend?

I would say she has become one of my closest friends over the past couple of years since I moved to a new country. We are both really excitable and hype each other up and she’s been there for me at times that’s been tough so I want to establish she’s not a bad friend however the issue I have with her is that when she doesn’t agree with me, she can’t let it go. She’ll go tell our other friends behind my back about how difficult I am or how big my ego is. We’ve had arguments and fights and I feel like I’m usually the one that would apologize first to try and mend things (sometimes she doesn’t even apologize). And the thing that pisses me off the most is that when I tell her something she doesn’t like to hear, she’ll ghost me or ignore me. I think she tends to shut down or is an avoidant when it comes to dealing with conflict but I expect my friends to have more respect for me than that. Like I’m ok with friends having different opinions or thoughts on things and not having to agree all the time but she doesn’t seem to operate that way like it’s either you agree or apologize to her and I’m so tired of it. It’s not even worth having a conversation about this with her because I don’t think she’s ever gotten over some of the arguments or fights we’ve had and she’ll basically just ignore me and then later pretend like everything is fine. I don’t know what to do. She’s very well integrated with a lot of my other friends so I can’t really talk to anyone about it without coming across like I’m badmouthing her (which I know she’s been doing to me so it feels unfair). Sorry, long rant but has anyone experienced a friendship like this before and what did you do about it/what happened?

Bike fit caused more problems?

I went to get a bike fit done recently after my friends hounded me to get one because they were sick of me complaining about all the cycling pain I’ve been experiencing (mostly shoulders and neck). That pain has been minimized a little (I think?) after my bike fit but I’ve noticed knee pain now. I never had knee pain on my bike before and I’ve ridden quite long distances. Now I’m noticing it after a short ride. What do I do? I don’t want to go back to the bike for person in case they screw it up more. Has anyone else encountered this before? It seems so bizarre to me…

TL;DR: bike fit introduced knee pain when I cycle.

How to cope/not have resentment/jealousy over those who don’t have thalassemia?

I’ve been diagnosed with beta thalassemia since I was a kid. I never really knew what it meant until recently and now it’s become a blocker in my life. Like anytime I feel a limitation, I blame it on thalassemia. And I look at people who don’t have this and I’m so envious of them. It just feels like I could have had so much more potential if I wasn’t born with this trait (not that I can blame my parents since they probably didn’t know they would carry it). I am also second guessing whether I want kids of my own now because what if they inherit this and wanted to become an Olympian or sports star or do some extreme sports stuff or what if they just wanted a normal life but my genetics screwed it up for them. Sorry, more of a rant. I’m just feeling frustrated that not only do I have it but I’m also a carrier.

Toxic male managers

How do I deal with them? Any advice? I want to maintain professional but I feel like they’re trying to throw me under the bus and I’m getting no support, even when I ask for clarification, it’s confusing as hell. What do I do? I have a meeting with his manager tomorrow so how should I approach this? Also want to say he’s trying to mark me as a low performer right now 😩
