Long story short... CS student here.

We are supposed to submit the semester project on Monday. And at the last moment, the person I made group with, ditched me and said that do on your own.

I already started working on it, but now since the project idea was of that person, they've clearly mentioned that I should find my own.

I don't know what to do now. I can't even talk to the instructor in person now till Monday and that'll be too late, because what if they didn't allow solo projects?

I do have an idea to work on, but now the time is too short and next week we have lab exams, so I gotta prepare for them too

If I make a project completely vibe coding, it'll still take me more than 4-5 days since I've this toxic trait of perfection. Also understanding the whole code would also take some time because obviously there'd be Viva.

What should I do now? The coming week is really hectic as we have quizzes, lab exams presentation and this project submission. And I have to prepare for all of them.

I'm worried, because even if I somehow managed to create the project, what If the instructor reject it saying it was supposed to be a group project. We've already submitted the project proposal as a group.

Should I leave this project for the sake of peace of mind rn and then regret later?

Does, not submitting the semester project, results in course failure and I have to repeat it?

How will it affect my GPA? Last semester I had 3.5+

Early this morning, I posted about how adorable humans are. Now I regret it, because not all are the same.

So here is my dastan...

We were supposed to make an Arduino project (semester project yk). My friend... She came up with the idea to buy a ready made one, and present it.

I know it's wrong but... I don't know how... She convinced me for it. Now we were just 2 members and max can be 3. So, she asked me to let that one quiet girl in our group too. I agreed.

( Well... Basically she doesn't ask. She kind of implements her thoughts on me in a way that most of the time I agree with her )

We told that other girl, that we were going to buy the project instead of making one. She objected as to why we are not making it by ourselves.

My friend asked me to convince her as she didn't want to sound mean. I politely asked her and gave some reasons (such as a tight deadline etc) and she agreed.

My friend said that, she knows a shop who makes projects, so she'll buy it from them and we'll just have to pay her our part. The project cost 9000 and me and the other girl paid her 3000 each.

After a day or two, I shared this with my siblings and they shared it with Dad. He started giving lecture and this time instead of feeling humiliated, his words really opened my eyes.

So, I usually share about my day with my siblings and occasionally with my parents too. So they know about my friend.

She's the type of girl who... Well... It'd be better if you judge her regardless of my opinion.

She asks me about lending her money and never mentions that sooner or later she's gonna pay me back.

The first time she asked, it was 100. I gave it because... Yk we are friends... Right?

Then she started asking again and again. Sometimes, she says that she forgot her money at home and now she doesn't have enough to go home.

Sometimes she simply says that she's craving biryani etc, so being a friend, I should give her a treat. When it comes to group projects, she always asks me to print the reports etc and then she never pay her part.

At first, I thought it was common among friends but then I myself started realizing that something was wrong.

And now after hearing Dad's words, it doesn't make sense for a girl who asks others for as minimum as 20-50 RS to agree for buying a project which costs 9000.

I searched up that shop (from where she bought the project) and contacted them. Asked them about the same project and they told me that it'll cost 6000.

Atp... I'm 97% sure that I got scammed by her. Rest 3% might be not... because only God knows the actual thing. But the chances of not getting, are really low and makes no sense.

I'm speechless. Literally! Like how can one be so...

Well... Whatever loss happened to me, I might forget it someday but... That other girl!

I... convinced her to contribute and now I'm feeling so guilty. She doesn't even know about all this. I haven't talked about this to anyone. But all this... What we say in Urdu? ... Mujhy andr sy khaye ja Raha hai.

TL;DR: I'm such a dumb person who thinks everyone is a good person with some moral values but turned out I was wrong. The girl I thought is my friend, uses me for academic purposes and now scammed me and the other girl too.

So, today I was sitting in the cafeteria all by myself. Out of nowhere, someone started singing Happy birthday.

I looked up and a group of girls were celebrating their friend's birthday.

In the meantime, everyone else present there, also started clapping, singing and cheering up.

God!!! It was really good to see strangers participating.

Humans are really adorable <3

I'm done with this city tbh...

No matter what time you get on the road, there's always a hell lot of traffic.

Especially from Sadar to Tower. That whole area is always blasted with heavy traffic.

I've to commute regularly (via public transport), and all this drains my energy to the level that I almost faint.

Ahhh and what hurts the most is the fact that I've got no option but to go with the flow (that is drowning me)

I've got no hopes for this city :/

I've noticed this multiple times that whenever I get a notification of a comment on my post, I can see it in my inbox notifications, but when I click on it, it doesn't appear below the post.

Even the comment count includes that comment but for some reason it isn't visible.

It's not when you're alone in an empty room, but, when you're alone in a room full of people.
