As the title says, where do you guys see your future as embedded engineers heading at.
I am from bangalore, india, and honestly it's scaring me right now.
I am 22 and started as a robotics embedded intern at a company which makes cobots.
But seeing the way VLSI and AI is rising, and so much hiring for VLSI roles, especially for freshers, im feeling anxious and suffocated.
I'm seeing so many established companies and startups trying to make their own chips, increasing yet again vlsi opportunities.
I know if a chip is being made, embedded people are required for board bring ups, bootloaders, etc. but I am not seeing much increase in opportunities for us, especially freshers.
While vlsi people are earning so much at the starting stage of their career itself, and I am struggling to find any opportunity that even pays 40% of theirs.
What do you guys think about the opportunities for embedded, especially with the growth in AI and Chip manufacturing in India. What are your thoughts and plans, please help me out.
Hey guys, so i own a macbook air m1 8gb ram variant. i dont game but wanna try gaming, but as i only own a macbook, so i will be starting my gaming days with this. as there is a sale going on steam, which 2 games can i go with, or is there any other recommendation?
RPG seems fun for me.
so i have a rspberry pi cm5 with ubuntu server 24.04 lts. ok, so what happened is i thought since i forgot to upgrade this cm5 kernel to realtime, so to lets do that first before proceeding ahead. so i just did sudo apt install linux-raspi-realtime. and then did sudo reboot, and i couldnt ssh into it, tried for 2 days, tried turning it on and on and everything, connected it to a monito and checked, and the monitor was blank. the pattern was after tuening on split second of green led, then 1-2sec of red, then 8-10 secs of green, then nothing for some 10 secs, then again green for few 3-4 secs, and again nothing, repeating.
after that now i have reflashed the cm5 with fresh ubuntu image and then i ssh'd into it, checked current kernel using uname -r, and it came as s6.8.0-1047-raspi, then i did sudo apt update and then sudo apt upgrade, it took a while to finish that, and i rebboted it, after which it came with kernel 6.8.0-1057-raspi. then i opened ubuntu.sources using sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ubuntu.sources and added noble-updates and noble-backports, and then saved it and again did sudo apt update. then i installed realtime kernel using sudo apt install linux-raspi-realtime and did sudo reboot, and its again the same thing. it is not working. but this time monitor showed something.

I had instaled realtime kernel previously so why this problem this time? is it the problem with my process? is anything extra to be done? i had same setup before, only that it was around some 2-3 weeks before, with initial kernel 6.8.0-1056-raspi.
I have seen so many people suffer from their storage being occupied by huge amounts of system data. i have had this problem too. mine was around 120GB of system data. so let me tell you guys how i got it to this low. so as everyone i went to reddit, other forums and everywhere, and most frequent advices i saw was to clear cache folder. i did that, and it removed aroung 10GB. it was a huge chunk of data, but still my system data was around 110Gb.
i tried everything else, as the redditors suggested and other forums said, but nothing helped. i check apple music stuff, that time-machine thing, but nothing.
so what i did was i went to chatgpt, and explained my situation and what all i tried.
so what it did was give me various terminal commands to check all files, which files were taking how much storage, and such. what it mainly did was go through all the files and folders present in the laptop.
and it found, a folder with a whopping 70GB of data, with my brother's name. what was surprising is that this macbook was previosuly owned by my brother, but when he was giving me this laptop, he had deleted his account and gave it to me. but still all those files of his remained, containing cache, libraries, etc.
then chatgpt gave me the commands to remove that folder, and it cleared most of my system data.
so maybe you guys also can give it a try, making chatgpt or any other AI go through all the folders and files, and let it figure it out, ofcourse, you have to keep an eye as well.
