Today's entries: Travel mishaps - (finally glad that I brought my little yellow journal for the trip)

Well I wasn't sure whether to bring my journal during my week end trip to Paris or not but now I certainly am glad I do. Extra time to read, I guess! Hopefully in a few hours this will just be something we laugh about around an icy cold drink!

Edit: message from friends - my beer will be super icy cold waiting for me by the time I arrive and we find out some ways to shorten the trip 😆

Yesterday's entries on my little yellow notebook

More likely, yesterday's rambling about going from point A to point B with detour via North Pole 😅

Here goes the idea of 1 page a day when somehow it becomes 8 pages in a day. I can take a break from journaling for the next week? Noooo don't think so 🤣

Do you guys bring precious journal notebook on short week end trips?

I am hesitating to bring my precious tiny yellow notebook for a week end trip to see friends in another city this week end. I chose this format partially for it to be portable for this purpose but at the same time it feels so precious to me I am afraid of losing it / staining / spilled / basically ruining it.

What do you guys do usually for trips? Just log the entries afterward or journal on spit with your normal journal or actually get a separate travel journal?

I don't travel enough to justify a separate nice setup.

TCMC Washi & sticker haul

So as a responsible wage earning adult I simply use my yearly bonus to satisfy my stationery addiction. This time it's to get TheCoffeeMonsterzCo stickers and washi tapes for journaling and bullet journaling / planning. The washi tapes were sold out in TCMC website so I just get mine from Miso Paper (UK reseller).

For those who do journaling: what ink colours do you use?

I'm really curious about your ink colour choice for journaling, if you change ink every page / line or stick with one ink colour etc, and what's your favourite ink.

Personally I am hesitating whether I should stick with black waterproof ink or just go crazy with the colours.

Please share your favourite inks for journaling and why, I'm curious 🤗

Today's entry: Poppycocks!

Today's entry in my little yellow notebook: a very opinionated response to an "article" in NYT I find a total nonsense written by a super pedantic person who openly admits of having miserably failed at journaling / keeping a diary.

I think he simply has an extremely narrow view of what journaling is and is not, and keeping a diary truly mean. My conclusion is that he fails, and doesn't want to be the only one failing.

Thankfully Anne Frank had never read this article! Oh wait...

(Yes, I'm opinionated to a fault 🤣 and I actually also do "keep a notebook" in parallel as it's complimentary system he fails to understand)

Today's entry: Missing my old self (hopefully the picture upload this time)

Gosh I have never had so many issues uploading a picture of my journal here before but so many errors!

I wish we have A6 Codex

I really wish MD creates the A6 version of the Codex. I really would love to write an A6 page per day journaling on dot grid layout without the 1 page 1 day planner style layout.

Now I'm using standard A6 notebook but it's two notebooks per year (and even then lacking page). A5 is just too massive sadly.

Today's entry: Quiet day I'm grateful for

It's been whirlwind of events and my social battery is fully drained so thankfully today is more quiet.

Just a silly little drawing in my BuJo for the bracelet my friend gave me for my birthday 😆

I found my old colour pencil.

A few months ago I wrote a post here about not wanting to buy any new ink until I get my certification for work. I was listing a few inks I wanted and Wearingeul appears several time.

Life said differently. I got very sick in March, in and out of hospital and was very ill for the whole month with difficult recovery in April. Career moves certainly got on postponed for a while.

My birthday was at the end of April so in the end I decided to just get the ink to mark that.

It pairs well with my Pelikan M600 (EF nib). Here are some writing samples, the paper on the second image is Rhodia (bloc note) and the notebook is from Leuchtturm1917 (Monocle version).

So far it is very lovely ink, somehow I actually love it even more than my usual favourite Tsuki-Yo at this moment because it's simply more calm and restful.

By the way I also just learn that this ink is inspired by the famous Korean poem Counting the Stars at Night by Yun Dongji. That poem is so beautiful!

Letter to my best friend (just sharing)

I am too lazy to ink up my green pen with green ink so there we go! This ink looks brown so it works I guess.

Controversial topic about the weather, especially when talking to my British friend who'll look at me like I just sprouted horns spontaneously when I told him I like the rain when he said something about the weather being nasty. We're now sworn enemies.

Today's daily spread. Experimenting a bit with two columns format inspired by Hobonichi layout. Liking it so far. The right page happens because it's public holiday.

Notebook is B6 Leuchtturm1917 monocle, pen is Twsbi Eco EF.
