Hermione's scepticism

I'm re-reading the books and just got to the chapter after the trio visits Xenophilius Lovegood and Harry is trying to convince Ron and Hermione about the Deathly Hallows and, as always, Hermione is absolutely sceptical about them, just as she was in all the other times Harry had a suspicion that didn't match her precious logic. As we all know, Harry was right AGAIN, as he was in all the other times Hermione doubted him.

Does that annoy you guys too or is it just me? It's like "for god's sake Hermione BELIEVE SOMETHING!"

Goblins aren't the villains

Goblins are a people who suffered from prejudice and oppression for centuries, and never tried to react or fight for respect because they couldn't compete with wizardkind in terms of power.

Then we come to Ranrok. A goblin that started trying to befriend wizards, until he was beaten to near death for committing the CRIME of: trying to hand a wand back to its owner (Rowland Oakes tells us that when we rescue him). After that, his hate for wizardkind grew (let's be fair, a completely justified hate) and his search for equality became anger and vengeance. Years later, he discovers a source of a powerful ancient magic, which was nothing but pain, grief, anger and other bad feelings, magically extracted from their "owners" and stored in a magical container. Ranrok found that this magic was incredibly powerful when wielded and/or imbued to their armors and weapons made of goblin silver.

Of course this magic, being made of so many bad feelings, would influence its wielder negatively, so it was dangerous not only for its destructive power, but for potentializing all the anger and resentment the goblins felt for wizards.

Therefore, a people with centuries of stored anger and a feeling of injustice now had the power to fight for what they believed. The influence of that magical-anger-power made them become more violent and to wish not only for equality, but for vengeance, for causing wizardkind the same pain they caused to the goblins. Such influence even caused them to attack and/or kill goblins who disagreed with their methods or motivation, treating them as "traitors to their kind".

Ranrok had this anger. Fueled it with the ancient magic power and then recruited other goblins, under a promise of freedom and equality, to fight with him and then used the power he found to influence his followers for his same goal. The other goblins are nothing but tools being used by Ranrok to get to the power.

When I started to think about this, I started to see goblins differently, and even feeling certain guilt for killing them, even though our character has fair motivations for trying to stop them. In the main story, we only want to stop them from causing a war that would threat our world.

After all, they are an oppressed people who ended up going too far (toooooo far xD) on their search for respect, equality and justice. The wizards' society and the centuries they spent oppressing goblins are the real villains here.

Stuck in Treasure Vault

Hey guys, I'm stuck in this treasure vault (sorry for the image quality but my tv doesn't let me screenshot the games - I play via xcloud) between crafcroft and Brainburgh. It has an Ashwinder, a mongrel and some flying rocks inside, and I just can't find out what to do to get the treasure. I tried transforming all rocks, used all spells on them, tried to levitate them all at once, tried to stop them all at once with arresto momentum... Nothing works. Do you know what to do here?

Xbox app on LG Smartv (webOS25)

Bro, what the heck did they do in this last update? I have to restart the app 2-3x until the "getting your game ready" screen loads correctly, otherwise I get stuck at it, because it stops on "getting your game ready" and nothing happens forever.

I just can't understand why is it so hard to update an app without messing it all up.

My (another) wishlist for Hogwarts Legacy 2: make combat deeper instead of just making enemies tankier

Well, here we go again with the 934678376th post about this. 😅

I had some new ideas (aka dreams xD) for my ideal Hogwarts Legacy 2, so I decided to put them all together.

Fair warning: this is a long post, but I genuinely put a lot of thought into it. If you make it to the end, you'll have my eternal gratitude. 🥺

That said, here we go:

I love Hogwarts Legacy's combat. It's one of the best magic combat systems I've played. But after reaching the late game (around level 35+), I feel like the difficulty falls off because the challenge comes mostly from enemy HP (if at all, because at that point you're already too OP for most enemies on the map) instead of mechanics.

Instead of simply increasing health pools, I'd love to see every major enemy and magical creature have unique mechanics.

🧙 **More memorable boss fights**

More story bosses throughout the main quest instead of saving everything for the end.

First encounters with villains like Harlow or Rookwood should be actual boss fights that end with one of you escaping, depending on how well you performed, which leads to the next point:

⚔️ **Bosses that react to your performance**

Imagine two different endings to the same fight.

I took Fire and Vice as an example. Imagine that, after rescuing the dragon, leaving the tent and watching Poppy apparate back to Hogwarts, a short cutscene starts and Harlow himself shows up to confront you for destroying his business.

There would be two possible outcomes:

A: You struggle, take lots of damage and barely survive → Your character escapes in the final cutscene, with Harlow yelling something like: "I will find you! This isn't over!"

B: You dominate the fight, stagger the boss and force him to retreat → The final cutscene shows Harlow escaping from you, saying something like: "You have some talent after all... but this isn't over!"

This could happen in several quests throughout the game, leading to more memorable 1v1 duels like the one against Cassandra Mason in Minding Your Own Business. I love that duel and hate that it's the only one in that format.

🛡️ **Better shield mechanics**

I'm still not sure if I completely agree with myself on this one, but I'll throw it out there anyway. 😅

Keep color matching as the optimal strategy.

But let players slowly break shields with the wrong spell instead of making enemies completely immune. If you get hit while trying to break the shield, it resets, making it much easier to simply use the correct spell color.

Correct color = instant break.

Wrong color = gradual shield damage.

✨ **More spells with unique identities**

Instead of adding spells just because they're famous, make each one fill a specific role in combat.

Examples:

Alarte Ascendare = aerial launcher ("reverse Descendo").

Expulso = direct impact damage. I believe it could work like a "Depulso 2.0", dealing initial damage plus additional damage if the target hits a wall, pillar or another enemy, giving Expulso a clear offensive role while allowing Depulso to remain focused on crowd control and environmental interactions (imo it could be turned into a blue spell to work exclusively as a puzzle spell, but I know many of you like it xD).

Fiendfyre = extremely powerful but dangerous to use. Just like the Poacher Executioners, you would be completely vulnerable while casting it, and it could also hit your companions.

Tarantallegra = crowd control / movement disruption.

Incarcerous = temporary restraint, opening enemies for follow-up attacks.

Replace Arresto Momentum with Impedimenta = I think Impedimenta has a more combat-oriented effect, while Arresto Momentum is portrayed differently in the movies.

Silencio = temporarily prevents enemies from casting spells, assuming not all of them can cast non-verbally.

Every spell should have a clear purpose.

🐉 **More magical creature boss fights**

Some of them could be incredible story bosses, while others could be hidden inside optional dungeons.

Imagine memorable encounters with:

Dragon (maybe a main story boss)

Erumpent

Nundu

Each one should have completely unique mechanics instead of simply having more HP.

**Dragon**

Phase 1: Ground combat. You can damage it, but it's extremely resistant.

Phase 2: It takes flight and attacks from above. You survive by dodging or shielding while throwing back the rocks lifted by its attacks using Ancient Magic Throw.

Phase 3: It starts charging massive fireballs that must be interrupted with Glacius to create damage windows (similar to the energy spheres used by the Pensieve Guardians during the Keepers' Trials).

When defeated, it doesn't die—it recognizes that you're too dangerous and flies away.

**Erumpent**

Its horn is explosive.

Casting Bombarda or Confringo while it's charging at you would detonate the horn... killing both of you.

The fight becomes about positioning rather than raw damage.

**Nundu**

If its disease breath hits you, you're infected.

Wiggenweld heals HP but doesn't cure the disease.

Your health keeps draining until you visit the Hospital Wing, forcing you to decide whether to finish the dungeon (if you have enough Wiggenweld Potions), retreat, or eventually die and restart from the last checkpoint, having to fight the Nundu again.

🎓 **House points, morality and reputation**

Let morality actually matter.

Using Unforgivable Curses in front of witnesses?

Lose House Points or even fail the mission.

Helping people throughout the game?

NPCs gradually build a better opinion of you.

Being known as someone kind and trustworthy could make some people think twice before reporting you for using an Unforgivable Curse.

On the other hand, if you've been selfish, cruel or constantly made bad choices during side quests, NPCs might be much more willing to report you.

Not everyone should react the same way—some characters would report you regardless—but your reputation should have the potential to influence those decisions.

🧍 **Student duels**

I still can't believe we didn't have this in Hogwarts Legacy.

Please let us challenge classmates whenever we want.

Winning earns reputation.

Losing means living with the humiliation until you get the opportunity for a rematch.

Especially against bullies. I'm still annoyed that I couldn't challenge the Slytherin student who bullies Poppy and mistreats the Kneazles. I would've loved to rub his face on the ground with Descendo.

⚔️ **Make enemy progression more meaningful**

Instead of giving every enemy more HP as the game progresses, make higher-tier enemies genuinely more dangerous.

For example:

Poachers, Ashwinders and Loyalists would keep their current ranks (Ranger, Duelist, Executioner, Defender, etc.), but each rank would introduce new mechanics instead of simply having more health.

Elite enemies could have more varied spell combinations, better timing, smarter AI and unique defensive abilities.

Stronger enemies should have slightly more HP than basic ones, but not to the point of becoming damage sponges.

This would also create more interesting encounters.

For example, an enemy camp could contain:

Several weaker enemies that you can dispatch quickly.

One or two elite enemies that demand your full attention and force you to adapt your strategy.

That way, combat remains fast and satisfying against regular foes while still delivering challenging moments against dangerous opponents.

To sum it up, some enemy camps should feature their own "Solomon Sallow": a powerful elite enemy fighting alongside regular poachers, Ashwinders or goblins. They could make Poacher Executioners and Ashwinder Defenders fill this "mini-boss" role, and create a new elite rank for goblins, if they are to be kept as main enemies in a sequel.

I don't want the protagonist to be weaker.

I want enemies to become smarter, more varied and more memorable, so combat stays exciting from the first duel to the final boss.

PS: Portkey, Poacher Executioners and Ashwinder Defenders are regular humans. For Merlin's sake, making them immune to Force and Control spells makes absolutely NO F\*ING SENSE!!!\*\*

Thank you so much if you made it this far. I hope you enjoyed the read, and I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)

EDIT: Apparently, for some people in this sub, the author is more important than the text content at all, so YES, chat GPT wrote most part of this text, since English is not my native language and I wrote all ideas there firstly, and then asked it to organize it in a text for me. But the ideas are all mine.

Black clothes

Doesn't it annoy you guys that there aren't any BLACK clothes in this game? Everything is it gray and/or faded, even the school robes - that are described as BLACK (not gray) in every book - are gray and unsightly, and I will not even mention the DARK arts robe (or should I call it gray arts robe?).

There are 3058935 long coats and guess what? None of them is black too.

Damn, it annoys me too much, since I can't afford and expensive gamer setup to play with mods and depend on cloud gaming services.

Controller freezing/high input lag

Hello there!

Have you guys experienced any controller stutter/freeze/lag while playing in the WebOS (LG Smartv)?

This happens with me all the time, I play normally for a few minutes, then the controller starts stuttering and having a giant input lag for a few moments (which ruins the gameplay sometimes). But it happens ONLY in the TV app. When I'm playing in the PC it never happens.

I use a generic bluetooth joystick and I was thinking about buying a dualsense, but I'm afraid the problem will continue on a more expensive controller.

Gamepass ultimate - performance mode

Is there a way to force performance mode to at least 1080p graphics? Is frustrating to purchase the most expensive plan and not being able to play at 1080p 60fps, having to choose one or another.

If you guys can help me, I'll be very thankful.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hey guys, are you good?

Well, I just bought the one-day license for geforce now, because i'm considering to move from xbox cloud gaming to it. the graphics are amazing, much better than xcloud on medium, but it bothered me that the input lag on it is much higher. When I play via xcloud, the spells and actions happen instantly when I press the buttons on the gamepad, while it takes almost a second to respond in GFN. I tried it both on my smartv and laptop with a cabled connection, and couldn't solve this.

Would you guys have any tips for it? Like graphic settings or anything, or is it just worse than Xcloud in this matter?

Geforce Now - Tips on graphics

Hey you guys!

Today I started testing another cloud gaming app, and it plays the PC (linking my Epic Games account) version of HL.
I have made some adjustments to play with all graphics on Ultra, but it still stutters when mc moves. Anyone here plays in GFN and would share your graphics settings to help me set mine?

Thank yall for your attention.

How many playthroughs have you played?

I'm currently on my 9th playthrough. Been playing it on a looping since december.
3x Ravenclaw, 2x gryffindor, 2x hufflepuff, 2x slytherin (the current one).

Hogwarts Legacy became my comfort game, I play it everyday to relax and get away from the real world for a few moments.

Why would he take Bragbor's diary to a mine Ranrok and his loyalists are digging to give it to the MC? Did he plan on bringing MC AND the diary to Ranrok or he is just the dumbest goblin ever (even though everyone talks about the goblins' intelligence), bringing something so valuable straight to the enemy's hands without being able to protect it?

What are your opinions?
