Why is a United Methodist Church Hosting One of Missouri’s Most Anti-Trans Senators?

Why is a UNITED METHODIST CHURCH having a senator and evangelical pastor that actively attacks the LGBTQ community and women's rights come and speak at their facility?

Where is the accountability!?

I SURE WOULD LIKE TO KNOW!

If anybody is curious this is the same man that said that he wouldn't listen to the experts during a hearing on an anti-trans bill last year because he only listens to God.

I would genuinely like to know how Missouri Annual Conference Of The United Methodist Church and Missouri Reconciling United Methodists view this.

3 1/2 Years Later and a Lot of Work

First and foremost, YES, this is my hair. NO, I'm not wearing a wig or extensions. YES, I regrew my hair and had hair transplant to feminize the hairline and thicken certain parts. I've also had FFS, FFS Revision, SRS, full body laser hair removal and electrolysis and lost 150 lbs. I also had 8 months of vocal training. I'm happier now, love myself, and feel comfortable in my own skin. It wasn't easy and I put up with a lot of hate till I got to the point I'm at now. This wasn't a simple process and there were a lot of tears along the way, but I don't regret it a bit. Gender affirming care works. It does improve the quality of life.

I'm turning 41 in over a month.

Maybe it's psychological, but it feels like everything starting hurting more after turning 40 😂

It's been several months so I thought I'd give an update on my transition(3 1/2 years in now)

I've lost most of my family, some of my friends. I've learned a lot of valuable lessons along the way. I've finally deconstructed my religion(an incredibly hard thing to do) and am a better person for it. I've spoken on Q and A panels alongside doctors, politicians, and other experts and even spoke to a sub committee. I started an online community with almost 2000 transgender veterans on it and also have a live stream I do weekly on other platforms. I've written articles and become a subject matter expert on my own existence. This doesn't even include the complete political shift I've done towards becoming a liberal. I've gone through multiple surgeries and am now comfortable in my own skin. I finally stopped letting others dictate my life and have become the best version of myself. I love myself and in turn try to show love to everybody I interact with unless they've shown they aren't a safe person.

If I had to give a single piece of advice during my transition it would be this. Chosen family needs to be chosen carefully. Somebody saying they support you is not the same as somebody actually supporting you. When push comes to shove will they have your back? Will they minimize what you're saying when you experience transphobia or an underhanded comment they don't understand. If they don't have your back and they are minimizing your experiences, they aren't family. The ones that got you covered and are there to share your tears are the ones that love you.

Happy Pride Y'all!

I was always Sarah. It just took me 37 years to accept her, even though I knew at 13. Every version of me got me here, and every version of me deserved love. At 40, I love myself and my life, and I’m finally living as the best version of me.

About 3 1/2 years I to this thing

Down 150 lbs, regrew most of my hair plus hair transplant(no more wigs or extensions, FFS, FFS Revision, SRS. I also did full body permanent laser hair removal and electrolysis on my face to get the few white hairs that laser couldn't get. Loving life and loving myself finally.

10 months post op

I decided last night to take a picture. I had hair transplant last July. I wanted to share the results. I haven't cut my hair at all so my bangs are actually horrible, but here is the current progress with no trickery to add thickness such as brushing it a certain way or hair fibers etc. I am so happy how this turned out!

Just had surgery and am healing

I feel like healing takes longer now that I'm 40 😭. Had to have surgery on both my arms, but am a few days post operation.
