Posture fixes from slouching for years?

I’m 5’10, and I’ve been 5’10 since I was 13-14. I’m 23 now. I was always taller than my peers growing up, and still taller than a lot of people I know, especially women. However, it caused me a lot of insecurity and I slouched my shoulders forward and inward, almost trying to hide myself for so long. Now it feels like trying to have proper posture is hard, but my back hurts. I can remind myself to sit up straight with my shoulders back, but then just gradually go back to slouching without realizing it. Any advice?

Sumatra, my beautiful daughter of a decade. (12 and a half years old)

This is my little baby. I’m 23, I’ve had her since I was 13. I wasn’t initially going to adopt her at the shelter, but she chose me. She came up to the glass and immediately attached to me. I love her so much. She’s 12 and a half years old and spends most of her time sleeping in her little nest in the closet. I will miss her so much when she’s gone, I hope she lives forever.

Teething 🫩

My newly 10mo daughter is getting 2 new teeth at once, one on each side of the bottom front pair. I swear the top 2 are wanting to break through too. Anyway, I’m TIRED. This is the worst she’s ever slept. That’s all. 🫩😭

Looking for shows/movies/episodes that involve DVT/PE

I hardly ever see any medical shows that have episodes that portray a patient with DVT/PE issues. I’m curious if there are any that anyone knows of. I would like to see how it’s portrayed in television.

Is it okay to let my 10 month old cry while I shower?

My daughter is in the stage of being attached at my hip, always wanting to be touching me. It’s totally fine, but it’s getting to a point she screams if she can’t. My partner (her father) works hours where I’m usually on my own with her. I make sure her needs are met before putting her in the playpen to shower- clean diaper, ate, she has toys , can see me and I’ll even put a show on for her. But even so she will lose her shit. I guess I just feel really bad about it, but I also hate feeling gross and funky.

Sharing my Postpartum Hair Journey

The first picture is around March-April this year, the second just a few days ago. I got postpartum hair loss SO bad. My vacuum would constantly clog, I was finding clumps everywhere, I had to lint roll myself multiple times a day, the shower drain clogged every time I would wash my hair and I’d be pulling clumps out. It was actually horrifying to see chunks of my hair fall out in the shower. My hairline was receding, and I was balding everywhere on my scalp in general.

I thought it was over for my hair and it would be like this forever, I was devastated. Then, a couple months ago, I noticed little chia pet hairs. Now I have new hair that looks so silly at the length it’s at right now. Despite how annoying it can be to manage it and make it lay flat, I am so incredibly grateful it’s growing back in.

To any other mom experiencing PP hairloss, I get how devastating it is, but there is hope!! It will grow back!! 🫶

Perma messed up leg ?!

Okay. I had a checkup today, my last was end of January after x3 different events complete DVT Dec-Jan in my left leg. They did an ultrasound, and these were the findings. I’m sure I’ve have clotting in my leg since the last checkup. Could anyone who maybe knows more or has been through similar give me more insight to these findings?!

Copy and Pasted findings:

Chronic, occlusive deep venous thrombus of the left mid-distal femoral vein.
Chronic partially-occluding deep venous thrombus of the left common
femoral, proximal-mid femoral and proximal popliteal veins.
Left Lower Extremity Findings
Spectral Doppler flow dynamics and filling defect in the left common femoral
vein suggest partially-occluding chronic deep vein thrombosis. Spectral
Doppler exam demonstrates normal venous flow dynamics in the left profunda
vein with no evidence of deep venous thrombus.
Spectral Doppler flow dynamics
and filling defect in the left proximal to mid femoral vein suggest
partially-occluding sub-acute to chronic deep vein thrombosis. Evidence of
chronic occlusive deep vein thrombosis in the left mid to distal femoral vein
no flow noted. Spectral Doppler flow dynamics and filling defect in the left proximal popliteal vein suggest partially-occluding chronic deep vein
thrombosis. The distal popliteal veins appears patent and compressible with
flow present. Spectral Doppler exam demonstrates normal venous flow dynamics
in the left posterior tibial and peroneal veins.

Am I doing enough for my 8 month old?

Hi everyone, I just need some advice. I’m not sure if I’m doing enough for my 8 month old. It’s just me and her the majority of the day most of the time. She wakes up around 8 am. When we wake up, I change her, feed her, and do some quick chores- shower as well if she isn’t super fussy. She does great with it usually.

Anyway, after everything is done in the morning, I play with her and let her have independent play, but she gets bored fast. Her wake windows are around 3.5 hrs-4 hrs now, and I run out of ideas to do. I live in a rural area where there isn’t many activities and I have no friends here. I try to get outside for a walk weather permitting, but it’s always windy and dusty, and she doesn’t like it even with cover.

I’m struggling with activities to do when we can’t always get outside, and she gets bored fast. We play, I read to her, do chores while she ‘helps’, and teach her to be gentle with the cats. Is there more I can do?

Anyone else relate? Postpartum hair regrowth

I’m grateful I’m not balding anymore, but my regrowth is so silly

Possibly Overreacting, but need to vent.

My boyfriend, the father of our 8 month old, is just making things so difficult lately. I am a SAHM, while he works. I usually have the baby all day or the majority of the day, and I do every overnight with her. (She still wakes 1-3 times)

Anyway, on his days off, I look forward to a bit of a break. But I can’t even call it that. I feel selfish, because they’re his days off too.. but. He will drink beer and get drunk after the baby and I go to bed, which fine whatever, we’re in bed. It’s when he’s hungover the next day that I can’t stand. Especially when he drinks or is hungover the entire time he’s off.

Today, I became angry from it. The baby only woke up at 1 am and 6 am which wasn’t horrible. However, I was excited to get to maybe sleep in and have some me time. Nope. Her dad calls me around 9:30 am, said he had to run into work to sign something. Then he said he’s running over to the town 30 min away to get groceries randomly. Okay, whatever.

Anyway, he gets back and it’s around noon at this point. I had already done all the chores for the day and was playing with the baby. I thought okay, maybe he will feed her and get her down for a nap. No. He says he will take her after a bit. So I feed her, she falls asleep on me. It’s like 3 pm at this point, and I ask for a break finally. He says no, give me another 30 min (he’s been laying in bed.) and it’s been over that time, and still no sign of him taking over.

I swear I’m grateful for him. It’s just really hard when I need a break too, but I have to cater to his needs because he’s hungover. I’ve been feeling under the weather lately too, but whenever I need to rest, it’s a big deal. Yet he can go wherever and do whatever without having to ask “permission.”

For one last note, he’s been saying he’ll quit drinking since I was very early on in pregnancy. It doesn’t last. He knows he has a problem, but it’s excuse after excuse. He’s done irresponsible and reckless things which are other stories. I’m just exhausted at this point. He’s wonderful when he’s sober and not hungover, but not like this.

Is there a way to restore full blood flow and reduce pain even with Post Thrombotic Syndrome in the left leg popliteal vein?

Long story short, I’ve had 2 procedures directly behind my knee due to DVTs in my popliteal vein, a third to remove clots from it through my jugular vein.

Anyway, it’s been 5-6 months now since my last surgery. I take Plavix, Lovenox, and baby aspirin. My leg is still always swollen by the end of the day, and just in general a little bigger than my other leg. My foot is always discolored after standing, and my veins bulge out. It’s ugly. It hurts to flex my foot up even without any clots. Walking uphill hurts so bad. I guess I’m just asking if this will ever go away, fully heal. I am a 23 year old mother and it really sucks to not be able to go on walks as much as I’d like due to this. It also is a really big insecurity.

I loved my legs before, and now I’ve got one with ugly scars behind the knee, and that’s always discolored and bigger. I don’t want to live with this forever. I know that I am being selfish and should just be grateful to be alive- I am. I just don’t know if I can deal with it for my whole life.
