I get along best with people who are thoughtful, well-mannered empathetic critical thinkers who enjoy language, are intellectually and morally rigorous, and at least mildly disappointed in the world.
But disappointment doesn't preclude curiosity, courage, and enthusiasm. A good turn of phrase or witty back and forth makes a day better, as does having someone like-minded to reliably exchange emotions with at the end of the day.
