Websites increasingly hanging on the "Verifying you are human. This may take a few seconds." box?
It could be a coincidence, but I feel like I am increasingly running into websites that hang on the screen that prompts the little box to click to say that I am not a robot. It spins, looks like it is going to load, and then keeps spinning.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
LRG shipping in bubble mailers. Avoid.
I guess they can't afford boxes any more.
I am guessing I Iack pollinators in my little urban backyard container garden.
Was out of town for a few weeks, and came back to find the flowers withering and dying. No fruit growing at all. I assume it's because I lack pollinators, but could it be something else?
Ads in notifications?
Just got an ad in a notification from Reolink. Never happened before. Is that a thing now?
What's the difference between these apps?
Nvidia Shield pictured here.
The highlighted media server app showed up at some point, and I do not recall adding or installing it. The main plex app (to the right in the image) is the one I have used for years.
I know this is basic, and I have tried searching on my own, but of course searching for the name of the app just results in general plex related things.
First *real* attempt at making and decorating a cake. Hummingbird cake with ermine frosting.
The other day I asked for an alternative to cream cheese icing for my hummingbird cake. This is the result.
I've made box cakes before and simple whip cream frostings that were applied like finger paint, but this is the first time making everything from scratch with patience and the right tools for the job (except an offset spatula).
I used Sally's cake recipe (reduced by a third to make it a two layer cake) and Southern Living's frosting recipe.
It turned out pretty well, but tasted more like carrot cake (probably due to the all spice Sally uses compared to other recipes). I also thought it could have used significantly more pineapple, but that's personal taste.
The frosting also had a very slight grittiness from unmelted sugar, which I attribute to the recipe that called for the paste to be made first and then the sugar whisked in off the heat. Other recipes, like the one from KAF, put the sugar in with the milk and flour on the stove in a single step, so I probably didn't have enough residual heat to adequately melt the sugar. It still came out pretty good though.

Any local woodworkers or hobbyists that take small jobs?
I have a cutting board that is in need of repair.
How difficult would this be to fix versus buying a new one? End grain cutting board coming apart at a seam.
I was using it last night to cut vegetables with a lot of moisture, and noticed a wet spot on the towel underneath.
I have very little experience, but don't mind giving it a go if fixing it wouldn't be too difficult.
I am thinking that it would essentially entail cutting it apart, sanding, giving a chance to dry out, gluing, clamping, and finishing. But would that be more effort than it's worth?
