Has Anyone Else Felt That People Have Become Less Friendly?

Lately, I’ve been feeling like people have become much colder toward one another. Even something as simple as smiling at a stranger often isn’t returned, and I can’t help but find that a little disheartening.
I’ve always been someone who’s kind to strangers, ironically, sometimes even more than I am to my own friends😅 I like acknowledging people, smiling, or making small talk when the moment feels right.
It just makes me wonder,
how are we supposed to build connections if everyone avoids eye contact, keeps to themselves, or seems unwilling to interact? I understand people are busy, anxious, or just having a bad day, but it sometimes feels like basic friendliness is disappearing.
Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me?

Hey guys,
I’m looking for a good reading room/study space near Vazhuthacaud
My priorities are:
Affordable monthly fees
Quiet atmosphere
Good Wi-Fi
Comfortable seating
Long working hours (24x7 would be a bonus)

I’ve heard about places like Bodhi, Readienz, Midaspire, and a few others, but I’m not sure about the current fees and availability.

If you’re currently using a reading room around this area, could you share:

Why are genuine travel spaces becoming uncomfortable for women?

I’m honestly disappointed.

I recently made a post asking for hostel recommendations and travel tips, and instead of getting travel-related responses, I received several message requests from random men asking me to travel with them or meet up.

What’s concerning is that this happened in a travel community. These groups are meant for sharing itineraries, stays, transport advice, and travel experiences—not for treating someone’s travel post as an invitation for personal advances.

There are plenty of other spaces on Reddit for dating or meeting people. Why make genuine travel communities uncomfortable for others, especially women who are simply looking for travel advice?

This kind of behavior discourages people from posting and participating in communities that should feel welcoming and safe. A little civic sense and basic respect go a long way. If someone asks for hostel recommendations, maybe just recommend a hostel.

Solo Trip to Matheran from Kerala (25F) – Safety, Budget Stay/Food, Train Travel Tips & Alternatives?

Hey everyone, I’m a 25F planning my first solo trip from Kerala and I’m considering Matheran because it seems peaceful and budget-friendly. I’m trying to keep the trip as affordable as possible and I’d love some advice from people who’ve been there.

A few questions:
•Is Matheran safe for a solo female traveler?
•Are there any budget-friendly stay options (hostels, homestays, cheap hotels, etc.)?
•Any affordable food options there?
•Is Matheran actually worth visiting for a solo trip?
•If not, are there better places I can cover within about a week on a budget?

I’d also love to hear any general solo travel advice, things to avoid, hidden gems, or lessons from your own experience.

Tablet recommendations

Hey, I’m looking for a budget-friendly tablet for note-taking and watching classes (stylus support would be great). Any good tablet recommendations? Also, any reliable shops in Trivandrum where I can check them out?

Guys, I went to watch patriot yesterday at Ariesplex . I was alone, and both the seats next to me were occupied by men who took over both armrests. I ended up adjusting and sitting awkwardly. What should I do in situations like this? Which armrest is actually mine???

Hey guys, I’m 26 years old, currently unemployed but working on something uncertain that will take time to complete. I really like this guy, I’ve had a huge crush on him for more than 3 years. I don’t know how he feels, and honestly, I don’t even want to know because I know we don’t have a future together. But the truth is, I love him so much it hurts my heart. Should I tell him how I feel and then move on, or should I stay quiet and just move on?
