Sudden Increase in Colorism

What the hell is going on with the sudden decision in season 2 to make the monster ladies dark skinned?? It starts with the tasteless Polynesian stereotype villain who turns people into basically zombies, and when they are "filled with dark energy" they become dark skinned 🙄 And in the same episode the two kids who bully chibiusa are tanner than any other kids we see for no goddammit reason. Now I'm on episode 31 and it's yet another in a row of a monster lady being dark skinned meanwhile all civilians or heros or anyone else is pale. And this is all on top of them making Sailor Pluto so much whiter than in the manga when she was already the only hero with darker skin. Did a new person join the team in the middle of season two who specializes in colorism or smth?? It's so stupid. Is this something that sticks around/comes back for the rest of the show too? Tbh ive been shocked at the lack of egregious colorism thus far given its an anime from the 90s, so its very disappointing that its suddenly increased midway through season 2.

edit: the issue is not that the majority is pale, it's that pretty much the only characters that are tan or dark skinned (at least in where i am in the show thus far). im not saying anyone is colorist on purpose, it is so ingrained in culture that it becomes commonplace. of course im not going to expect a 90s anime set in Japan to be the pinnacle of diversity and representation 😭 but it's good to be critical of the media you consume even if (especially if) you love it. before you defend or explain why its actually not colorism or well its Japan so you are just overreacting, maybe think about why you are so eager to deny something that is straight up a super commonly accepted issue in all media, not just anime. i knew when i made this post id be hit with some defenders and deniers but i guess i also expected some people who get it and can add to the discussion in a meaningful way. 🙄but of course not. if you can't even acknowledge that something is colorist because you love the media it takes place in, you care more about feeling good about what you watch than critically thinking about what you watch. you're not going to sit there and tell me that avocadora and that whole episode has no problems 😭😭 i still love this show, im just complaining about something that clearly should be brought up since everyone wants to bury their head in the sand and pretend it doesn't exist

When is it safe for my cat to enter my room after I put peppermint oil on my windowsill

I grew up with an essential oil mom so I did not know they could be so harmful to cats. I put some peppermint oil droplets on pieces of paper towel by my window to keep ants from coming in. I also put a bit on myself to keep ants from crawling on me because I am a big wuss (and a big fool too apparently). The smell was really strong in my room. Maybe like 20 minutes after I turned my room into a poisonous cavern I found out via internet I had made a grievous error; I immediately got rid of all peppermintified paper towel pieces and put them in a ziploc bag and threw it in the trash can. I wiped off the places I put oil. I have not allowed my cat or dogs into my room and have tried to keep them far away from my doorway because that is how I am airing the room out. The peppermint was put out 22 hours ago, but it has only been airing out for around 12 hours because I closed my door overnight so my cat wouldn't come in. The smell has mostly dissipated but is still present when approaching and inhabiting my room. The ziploc bag was still giving off fumes so I put it in the outside garbage. My cat is usually very sensitive to smells and runs away when sniffing something strong, but she is not deterred currently and even wants to come in and sniff around. I feel so terrible for locking her out and not letting her sleep with me, and I feel even worse that I have lived so long without knowing that our use of essential oils could have been hurting the pets. At what point is it safe for entry, when the smell is completely gone? Or is there a point at which it being mild enough will not affect her? The oil was not diffused, but I used a lot on the paper towels so the scent was extreme. I am terrified that I may have rubbed the oil somewhere unintentionally in my foolishness and that even once the smell is gone she might get some on her. She is 13 so I am extra worried. Please give me advice, thank you.

these were taken 30 minutes apart, should i be concerned?

it appears to me that they stuffed all the larvae in the cracks of my window. now theres like five ants still moving around, does that mean they are living in my walls? and is that a problem? will my house explode/disintegrate? thank you

edit: well unfortunately they ate me last night and now im a ghost typing this out.
no but actually it only took them around 30 minutes to stuff all the brood and themselves in my walls. or hopefully take them down into the not my window land. either way, theres like only an ant or two that are visible in my window. i think theyve probably been living in the walls/using them as a tunnel for years, i just happened to see them relocate the brood this time. only one has tried to come in but i tapped to scare him and he went away. i set up a line of borax and peppermint oil and not a soul has dared cross it. all in all, im very grateful they did not invade my room 🙏🙏🙏 im very impressed how quickly they cleaned up all the evidence, maybe i can ask them to help clean my roo
