How do I cook this cucumber from beijing?

A few weeks ago I travelled to China, and in Beijing I ate some kind of cucumber with peanuts, it was crude but with some kind of oil/light sauce, it wasn’t just crude.

A chinese guy I met ordered through his phone and it came with a “fancy” red bag. If someone can ID the restaurant. He told me it was a good restaurant, we were next to the Temple Lama, in the Hutong.

I know It’s so little information about it but I can’t found any information of how to cook it. I’m curious about the sauce/marinate.

[Uni Recommendation] I'm looking for Economics/stats programs during the course abroad

I'm studying Economics in Barcelona, I would like to do a short-term course/program/workshop/seminar in another university during this course of some weeks.

(I'm not talking about erasmus program nor summer schools)

I have friends studying in another fields that have did it but I didn't found it of economics.

I'm mostly interested in economics, finance, data, statistics and even pure maths.

Do you know any uni in europe or even international that offers that kind of courses/programs? I would really appreciate any information/experience about it!

Thanks in advance!

Gay dating apps for foreigners

22M. This July I’m coming to china (Beijing, Xi’an, Pingyao..) and I would like to have some dates with guys (sporadic bc I’ll be moving, but It can be more that just sex). Which app’s do you recommend me?

I came from barcelona and here it’s common to meet someone and have sex the same day, ofc also other interactions or go dinner, etc.

What can I expect of the culture there? It’s common to have sex the same day you meet someone? There are young people like me in those apps? I’m masculine and white, is this well seen there? (I found in some countries don’t like european-white guys). ehat about STD’s?

Thanks in advance!

https://preview.redd.it/pa5r53xu0h4h1.png?width=1146&format=png&auto=webp&s=685225cf68d1cba38cba3e2307e421712d9658c7

I’m doing a solo trip in July, any manners/cultural forms I should know?

I’m M22 and I will be doing a solo trip in the last weeks of July through Beijing, Datong, Pingyao, Xi’an and Chengde.

It’s my first time in China and I would like to be very respectful.

Some things I would really know are:

- Is strange to talk/approach to strangers in the street? (I know a lot of people doesn’t talk english (less my native language).

-Any opposite gender manner (I’m gay so I’m not talking about flirting but interactions, In some countries it’s not well seen approaching a woman in the street. I really don’t know how women are seen in China)

-Eating (any manner, I don’t know if its a cliche but doing noises is okay or a must while eating? Should I end all the dishes or repeat?..)

I would appreciate any other recommendation.

Thanks in advance!!

Edit: I’m from Barcelona, Catalonia.

There are vintage/secondhand marketplaces in Pekin?

I’m doing a solo trip last weeks of July to Pekin/Beijing, Pingyao, Datong, Xi’an and Chengde.

And I would like to buy some antiques, crafts, books, rarities.. Would you recommend me any place to go?

I’m not talking about high-end art but more of a secondhand marketplace (I’m thinking about my country, I don’t know if this culture does it exists in China)

I’m also interested in military/political (actual and old) stuff, not weapons, but clothing, books, pictures… Is there any chance I can get it? I’m not sure if this is sensible or if i should not look into it.

Btw I should use Pekin or Beijing?

I would appreciate any response <3

I’m 22M and I was planning to do a solo trip in Nepal this summer in July (when I have holidays), until i saw that this month is the most rainy of the year and everyone tag it like the “worst” time to travel to Nepal.

I’m not planning to do a long/hard hikes, I’m there more to disconnect and having a time with myself. But ofc I want to go to the nature and do more easy 3-4 days routes, visit chitwan, take buses (afraid for the roads), see the colorful nepal, go outside…

I also read that is always very foggy and you can’t even see the mountains.

It’s not my first time doing backpacking/travelling solo but yes that far. I have just two weeks for a solo trip which is kinda short for a trip in Nepal, but as said I don’t plan to a long hikes.

Do you think its a good idea going there in July? Or I should better wait for another occasion? Has anyone experience travelling/living in Nepal in July?

Thanks in advance.
