I was gifted a Leatherman Wave a long time ago and never really used it, since it’s a good quality knife is it ok for whittling? I have read through some posts and seen recommendations for cheap starter knives but would rather use something I have than buy new :) there’s four blades - two serrated, one sharp and one that looks like a tiny machete haha

Is it the prisoner’s cell or a special room? Who has to clean it? How do they vet or approve who visits? Is it a right, or do prisoners have to earn this with good behaviour?

Hi cat-lovers, I’m looking for advice and guidance. I quit my job earlier this year due to MH concerns and I booked a trip abroad to last me a few months, with flexibility. My friend and his wife, a vet, assured and reassured me they would take my two cats in, as one of them is actually their cat they left with me when they went travelling last year!
Of course, with 5 days to go, they bailed. We asked everywhere, looked into catteries, considered cancelling or curtailing the trips. Eventually our next door neighbours offered to care for them between our place and theirs, so the kitties would be in their own space.
However with my anxiety, every time a heatwave alert pops up I go into stress overdrive. Am I being a really bad parent by leaving my cats with people who don’t know them as well as I do? How will they know to monitor how much they’re peeing or how do I get them to cover up the windows to prevent heat coming in? They are really lovely and doing this for free so I’m struggling to feel like I can be more firm in regards to how they care for the cats. I do have a pet cam, they check in by text, and I know my own brain is the problem here. Just wondering if I should cut my trip short and go home. I want to do the best for my boys, I would have been so much calmer if they had gone to the friend with the vet wife who knew one of the cats really well.
All advice from fellow travellers has said we need proof of a ticket from Costa Rica outwards, in order to cross the border.
We have bus tickets for Liberia (CR) to Rivas (NIC) booked. I just tried to book a shuttle from Bocas over the border to Puerto Viejo with Caribe Travel. Their website states they will only accept a flight out of the country as proof. I WhatsApped them to confirm and they said not only that, but they require proof of travel all the way back to our home country?!
This leaves us in a tough spot as like most backpackers we wish to have flexibility with return dates and we’re hoping to make it to Mexico, but I don’t want to waste money by booking a flight we might not take.
Could someone please advise another service to get to Puerto Viejo from Bocas? I am happy to self drive if it comes to that.

Why the fuck do I come on here and see tons of posts from non Muslims criticising Islam? People just get chat gpt to quote cherry picked lined supporting their racist opinions. Make your own goddamn group. Leave those of us who’ve already been ostracised from our communities cos we didn’t work with the religion, to our own space. Yeah, we all agree Islam is a weird af religion, that’s why we left. I would never go back, but I don’t want to come on here looking for understanding and instead read people’s vitriol and anger and hatred when they’ve never even lived through it.

Hi all, done a lot of wardrobe cleansing after reading this space so I was looking for advice - I have been only buying new in sustainable materials but I haven’t been able to find anything like this photo (it’s polyester and elastane)
Is it better to buy this secondhand even though it’s polyester, or could anyone suggest a similar alternative? Preferably not too expensive!
