I’ve been a long-time Zenarmor user on a paid Home subscription, and I’d like to raise a growing limitation. Fiber and cable connections are increasingly multi-gigabit, but the Home Edition is still limited to a single-threaded packet engine. The multi-core engine introduced in 2.7 is apparently limited to Business and higher subscriptions. I myself have a 5x5Gig fiber connection at home.

You can check whether the single-threaded engine is your bottleneck by running top -SHP in OPNsense during heavy traffic. In my case:

eastpect{Eastpect Main Event}   CPU1   98.45%
kernel{dummynet}                        9.95%

The eastpect main thread is pinned at ~98% on a single core while the other 15 cores sit largely idle on the box. The traffic shaper (dummynet) uses only about 10%. The system has plenty of total CPU capacity, but all inspected traffic funnels through one saturated thread.

In practice, sustained downloads of around 2 Gbps cause intermittent connectivity problems. They’re most visible with Unbound forwarding over DNS over TLS (e.g., Quad9): TLS handshakes fail, and after repeated failures the upstream is marked unavailable for roughly 15 minutes. However, with Zenarmor disabled, upload throughput also improved from roughly 3.1 Gbps to 4.2 Gbps and the intermittent DNS issue was resolved.

I understand full multi-core scaling is a Business feature. Even one or two additional worker threads on the Home Edition would make a meaningful difference for home users on multi-gig connections. As it stands, I can no longer use Zenarmor on my connection, despite paying for a Home subscription.

Welp, on my way to work yesterday morning a rock was kicked up by the car in my left lane and I ended up with a windshield length’s crack from left to right.

The dealer over the phone quoted $2200 and a week for the part.

Safelite said 2 days and $980 including calibration and they will come to me.

I don’t have a heads up display, but have LTA, and there’s sensors behind my rear view mirror if that matters and am leaning towards safelite.

Anyone use them? Any issues - wind noise, water leaks etc?

How do they handle registration stickers and toll tag stickers on the windshield?

Have a family member who just changed to elite 2.0 and added their Apple Watch and an iPad.

Questions are:

With the recent change to Elite 2.0, is there a wait period to get the international coverage?

How does the paired apple watch and iPad work on this plan internationally?

Lastly, calls from this family member in Europe can call me back in the states for free correct? What if I call this family member from my end?

Hi,

Just joined on Tuesday and during the process was asked to port or provide a recent bill. Uploaded the bill and that went fine and completed the process.

Oddly enough, my lines have a $40 activation fee when I was told there wouldn’t be one.

I do see a $15 promotion on each of my lines bringing them to $30 each - which is correct.

However, the rep told me 4K is included, it’s not. Was also told international is included it also isnt. So now i am debating being asked to be moved to MyPlan - is that still possible? Would I keep my switcher discount?

I have a SYS-STOR in Vint Hill and in Beauharnois - both were purchased prior to 7/1/26 and have 1Gigx1Gig unlimited.

Looking at SYS-STOR now to consider a 3rd server, I see that it's no longer unlimited and it's 500M with a 10TB cap.

Does this apply to all new orders/renewals or are existing servers grandfathered in on the better plan?

Not sure what's going on here and if its expected or if I'm in for a bad surprise once the bill generates.

Went through Winback, 4 temporary numbers for my voice lines were created, and then the original 4 numbers were ported in on top - 3rd line free and the promo not to be mentioned reappeared shortly after. The rep could not resume the paired 4 Apple Watch lines as they were apparently canceled too long ago - they created 4 new watch lines instead, which is fine as I don't care about their specific phone numbers.

What I find odd, is that the voice line plan shows "Experience Beyond" which is correct on my voice lines, However, the 4 new Apple Watch lines show: Apple Watch (paired) with Go5G Next. The watches seem to work fine with their data service.

How can my watches be on Go5G Next and the voice lines be on Experience Beyond? The watch lines show five dollars each and taxes included according to the plan details.

Any ideas what's going on?
