OP Patch Studio - Fixed and Updated

Hi! You may be familiar with the OP-PatchStudio

The project has been abandoned for a while, as the author is focusing on other projects. I just got my OP-XY and took a little time to add some functionality and fix some of the major bugs.

→ App: https://maxupp.github.io/op-patchstudio/ → Code: https://github.com/maxupp/op-patchstudio

Changelog:

  • Re-worked the multi sample workflow quite a bit. Drag&Drop notes to the piano roll works now. Replaced the simplistic, and quite frankly relatively useless, auto assignment functionality with a pitch-detection and a better filename inference logic.

  • Added the previously missing ability to specify the octave for a multisample preset. Meaning when you load up a bass patch, the track might start off at octave -2, instead of defaulting to 0.

  • Added explanations to most of the controls and field that were previously quite cryptic.

  • Fixed some of the bigger issues reported to the original project:

    • #110 — leaving a drum slot empty shifted every later sample down a key in the exported preset, so kits played back out of order on the device
    • #109 — marker drags no longer die when the cursor leaves the waveform
    • #97 — "assign from names" for the drum tool (kick/snare/hihat etc.)
    • #106 — "auto set start" trims the dead air off in-app recordings

Before you ask: Yes, most of this is Claude Code, credit to my employer who allows private usage of our Max licenses ;)

Question to the Heddphone D1 owners: How is it after the honeymoon phase?

In short, I'm considering getting a pair, how do you like them after a few months of use?

EP-133 Update 2.5: USB Audio Latency

I read the update and thought to myself: Great, now I can ditch the AUX to 2x 6.3mm splitter cable into my audio interface.

Unfortunately within Reaper, the best I could get was a latency of about 100ms, with WASAPI, the EP133 as the input device and my Apogee Quartet as the output.

Direct Sound and other options are a whole lot worse for latency still. Am I missing something, or is this just how it is without ASIO support?

Trusty Apogee Quartet has fried its screens - replacement?

Do as the title says, The Apogee Quartet I've enjoyed for the past 10 years has broken displays, very sad. Otherwise it works fine, but it's really annoying me.

It was the ideal interface for me, 4 preamps each Hi-Z capable, desktop form factor, sleek and great sounding. I would buy another if it was still available.

So where do I go from here? Apogee doesn't offer a successor, and after the Quartet I don't really want to go back to budget stuff like the Audient Evo 8. Help?

Wo in Aachen Holz kaufen?

This is my stereo/mono line selector. I built this for my living room board to work in conjunction with a stereo looper. It let's me select if I want to add to the current loop in the center, or in the left or right channel. Since some of my pedals use TRS when in stereo, I built it so i can plug in dual mono or TRS stereo on either side. This let's it also function as an adapter box in wither direction.

Apart from the LEDs it's entirely passive, since it's really just raw switching. Accordingly there can be some slight popping noises but that's not a big deal for me.

I'm wondering how the power draw of our DIY versions compares to the original pedals. Many of the strip board layouts or pedal kits omit certain nice-to-have features like relay bypass, excessive power filtering or 18V capability.

Has anyone here tested some of their pedals? I'm super curious.

I'd like to get my hands on a Longsword, unfortunately though none of the listed dealers seem to have it in stock. All I've found is some marked-up imports.

Does anyone know of a decent shop, or maybe a similar pedal that is available here?
