In short, watched Running Man ep #409 with Jennie & Jisoo (half of BLACKPINK), and it felt really fun to see a girl-boy pair-based episode that wouldn't have been out of place as a Valentine's Day special, especially because the RM cast ofc subverts tropes that you'd find in "serious" couple-themed shows like The Amazing Race or dating games, like the guys getting scared at the haunted house instead of acting tough for their "date", etc., and it's even better when they aren't compatible or don't work well at all, lol.

So, can someone help recommend any similar eps? With pair-based challenges but preferrably mostly for comedy instead of real competition?

Something I randomly noticed as a non-fan: Jisoo used to be seen at every major Dior fashion show under Maria Grazia Chiuri, be it the "normal" womenswear shows (Ready-to-Wear Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter) or the prestigious Haute Couture shows (again both HC Spring/Summer & HC Fall/Winter).

If you don't know what HC is, it literally means "high fashion", and some designers have said haute couture shows are the only ones that matter (exaggerating but yeah).

But under JA, Jisoo has not attended a single Dior Haute Couture show, missing from both his HC Spring/Summer 2026 & HC Fall/Winter 2026. Even though she still came to womenswear RTW Spring/Summer (wearing the vest + shorts outfit), Fall/Winter (wearing a black dress), and most recently the Cruise show (wearing a white-black dress off-the-runway from the Fall show).

And it's unlikely to be scheduling issues or Jisoo herself skipping, because again, under MGC, she came to both RTW & HC shows. And she was always front-row, so it's noticeable that they seemingly didn't invite her to HC.

Do you think she is now being relegated to "just for promoting the normal, more affordable lines on social media, not haute couture"? Maybe because she hasn't been bringing the same numbers, since BP itself is not active and her solos aren't as smashing commercially as BP?

no shade to the original artists but even for them, on the studio recording they sound like they're straining and still wouldnt have accomplished that much without help (aka pitch correction and other engineering magic)

they also don't even sing it in the original key live (proving, per the songwriter & singer herself, it was NOT written to be sung live by a real person)

so i have to ask: has anyone in the world proven that this song can be done well by a real person without digital help?

there is this (relatively) new show from Korea (on Netflix) which has become a global hit and was immediately renewed for season 2, and i wonder if anyone else has seen it? any thoughts?

as the title suggests, it's about a badass teacher disciplining delinquents, based on a manhwa, which itself was probably an attempt at a modern day Korean adaptation of GTO (or correct me if GTO itself is inspired by something else which may have been the manhwa's real "blueprint"), BUT...

it lacks all the humor & absurdism, and instead of an ex gangster + goofball who means well, the guy is an ex special forces + actual appointed official with license (yes literally) to use violence on students

so yeah, clearly a different take on the concept, but idk, seems to have taken all the life and joy out of it in the process? what's so fun about an Onizuka if you play it super straight and force it to be plausible or realistic? (i mean cmon, the premise guarantees that's a non-starter lmfao)

tldr: after giving the show a try for 2 episodes i still didnt get the hype and gave up, it just felt like a failed take on "Korean GTO with a twist." would you agree? or do you think it's worth watching after all?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I'm trying ear training and always thought this movie's records were a bit weird even in childhood when I first heard them.

I wonder if the singers really are off-key, or is it the result of bad autotune? Which I've heard can sound technically on pitch but will always feel off.

Or are they only off by a couple cents, but we are so used to melodyned vocals that they sound off, when it's perfectly acceptable and even more authentic than most pop records today?

Tried Googling but there's no detailed explanation (that I could find) for why / how their eyes become that specific color & pattern (in some cases).

The melanin thing has an explanation, but I'm curious why the eyes are so different to (the common phenotypical representation of) "normal" blue eyes unrelated to the syndrome.

Is it due to a process similar to what causes the white unmelanated skin patches?

just currently really interested in this dynamic + the psychological effects.

can be from the perspective of either the "golden child" or the "black sheep" or both.

note: the sibling jealousy doesn't have to be the sole or primary focus, as long as it's still a main part of the story & characters.

example: in Pride & Prejudice the siblings don't exhibit any real jealousy but, yes, one daughter (Jane) is treated better by the mom for her beauty (she becomes the only path for the family to escape poverty in a highly patriarchal society), although interestingly the main character (Elizabeth) is actually the favourite for the father.

(as you can see, i can't think of that many rn that fully explores this, especially with regard to parenting & family dynamics, so any help is appreciated lol.)

Are there real-world examples of kids labelled as "child prodigies" who actually go on to make great discoveries and redefine their field etc.? In science?

I can only think of examples in sports or arts (Tiger Woods or Mozart types).

Or is it practically impossible in science, because most societies lack the proper support system, hence gifted kids becoming burnt out before adulthood? And because there are many other factors, unlike sports/arts where talent & practice can more predictably lead to success?

If you do know of any success stories, would love to hear as many such cases as possible!

I distinctily remember reading or hearing somewhere (could be an article or movie scene or youtube or reddit) that a study found that (cis straight) men were more hurt by cheating when the other man was more masculine.

In other words, the same betrayal can be made worse just by perceived comparative masculinity. So if men had to choose, they would "rather" their partners betray them with a man who is less masculine than them.

Unfortunately, now I can't re-find anything about this study even after googling multiple times, and it's driving me crazy. (Did I hallucinate it?) Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

First off, obviously, it's wrong to shame anyone for a kink, especially if it's all consensual. That said, some people (such as anti-porn feminists), including former roleplayers themselves, insist that doing BDSM & CNC (as the victim) is still ultimately harmful.

One possible argument is that doing BDSM & CNC (even though some survivors themselves claim it helps their recovery), theoretically, could "train" someone to lose their muscle memory for fighting (which is what people work so hard to build in self-defense & military training).

DISCLAIMER: I know that RP is not real life, so even if some part of RPers' brains associate simulated assaults with pleasure, all RPers will still NEVER want to be assaulted or feel pleasure from it. Also that "proper" BDSM communities are even more safety- and consent-aware than the Average Joe or Jane.

I'm just wondering if there is any data to tell us whether these RPers are at real risk, on some level, of unintentionally pacifying the important survival instincts & muscle memory needed to successfully fight & escape & survive a real assault.

Edit to add: Since the question is about one's ability to fight off an attacker (to escape/survive), the many forms of sexual assault using means other than physical threat (blackmail, drugging, etc.) do not apply.
