Non university 'trained' teachers?

All teachers ATM are products of a university course of one description or another. Even though there is an argument that it is the school on prac that does the bulk of the training. Should we go back to a 'modernised' version of a regional teachers college system/network that caters to the needs of their local area and the casual load/work opportunities for the schools thereof

Special teams/Scramble City limb template

Greetings!

I'm looking to find the general physical metric/measurement (in general), for the scramble city style limbs. So limbs of Aerialbots, stunticons, protectobots, combaticons, technobots, terrorcons and seacons.

The toys had to fit into a template in order to be a functional 'limbot'.

I can't find reference to this template measure (in mm) anywhere.

Was looking for the following:

Dimensions of the headpeg,

Width of the chestplate

Height of the chestplate

Depth from chestplate to back

De-kibbled length of figure when folded for arm/leg mode

This is all necessary to design a figure for that template, or based on that template.

Anyone willing to help me out if you have easy access to the figures, and a few minutes...

Till all are one : )

I thank you

Straight flat perpendicular slide Stanley blade cutter trimmer

Basically a slide blade trimmer cutter. NOT a power tool. But expensive to buy. Was thinking of making one. A simple one that holds a Stanley esque blade. Suggestions?

Intend to cut foamed pvc board ( thicknesses up to 16mm)

Maybe Paulownia wood 5mm - 20mm

Maybe foam core but it's not my favourite stuff.

Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Also would be good if I could cut perfect hexagon tiles with it

2012 i30 CVT shudder anomaly

2012 i30 automatic CVT, had an increasing shudder whenever it seemed to shift gears. This got worse and more frequent/intense over a couple/few weeks, to the point where I thought I should take it to someone. And did.

The mechanic took it for a test drive, he said it was shifting all over the place, so he manually shifted (I didn't know my car could do that), and on returning to automatic, the shudder was gone? He seemed confused as to why.

Anyone know what's going on...

Casual teacher classcover app wishlist

To all casual teachers.

Most primary schools and an increasing number of high schools both government and otherwise, use the classcover system for calling in their casuals. I have not used the school side application (have no need to), but I do use the casual teacher app (the app), and have for over a decade.

The classcover app is FAR from perfect, I think most who use it would agree. What do you as a casual teacher want from this app, or a replacement app, perhaps wholey owend by the department (NSW), but designed and built by someone who knew what they were doing...

What is your classcover app wishlist !!!

No log in to answer a teaching day request

Customisable format for request ticket (for the casual)

Customisable background (lose the bright white background), perhaps replace with an image (blank white paper or something)

When a request is accepted by someone else, auto remove the damn ticket. Nothing worse than accepting a dead ticket

When the request/ticket is expired/closed remove from pending.

Instead of a drop down for pending/booked etc, have rounded square buttons at the top, colour coded for open booked not-booked missed/expired, very quickly switch from one to another

Have the option for favourite schools and favourite classes. Be able to rate the general behaviour of the class, and the general experience (positive or negative) of teaching the class for the day.

Once booked be able to cancel/ditch if a more favourable option becomes available. Unpopular behaviour I know but there have been days...

Have it so that the school must have an active MOBILE PHONE number attached to the school account. Should be the school mobile, and the 'in charge of casuals' should have it.

Nothing worse than not being able to contact a school in the morning or out of hours. Should be contact through app as well.

Have an option for the calendar to be switchable from a standard calendar to a school week calendar with term: week: day, fully customisable of course

New feature request: logbook > have a logbook of every day that you have worked, what school/class and how the day went as an extendable. Logbook could have statistics like most popular class/school, least requested random etc.

New feature request > statistics.

This would show you how many teachers were needed/requested in a given area or by any one school or group of schools in a given predefined area ( regardless of whether or not they called you). This feature is so you know where the actual work is. Many schools say they don't need casuals but that may not be the case.

If I've forgotten or missed anything I'll add it later

More importantly, what do you want in a casual teacher classcover app?

Please add your wishlist

What would you change about school?

Think back to your school experience. Primary school, high school. What would you keep the same, what would you change?

Would you have more experiences in primary that might lead to a life/job skill, social interactions, less/no homework, more 'clubs' style learning activities.

For high school, be creative, what would you change? Behaviour based funding (cash out when you leave school), more job skills/life skills maybe. Think back, I'd wish I'd learnt how to do that at school.

Would you can the essay...

Have a uni path and a trades/maker path in hs

Would you separate children and teens into mainstream only schools and non mso schools

What would you change and why

Generally, what materials would be used to make a Hungarian style punch shield?

Would like a light shield, maybe pvc?

Just before COVID, and more importantly before classcover, schools would sometimes call several times a morning, can you work today...

Haven't heard that in a while. Got a text to that effect last week, accepted, confirmed...then cancelled (sorry double booked) what the...

Classcover rarely twinkles these days. If I could get two or even three days a week. : )

It was easier when it was the pre classcover system.

Anyone else notice that you've seemingly been ghosted by schools...I dunno
