A bit of a head scratcher

I thought this was interesting. I decided to tear down this 7.3 I took out of a package delivery truck expecting to see the usual cam/lifter failure but turns out this one had broken its timing chain and the cam wasn’t turning at all. I think it’s interesting that the relative compression test on the scan tool only showed the two cylinders with bent valves being down, but I guess know now that relative compression test isn’t a replacement for the old fashioned manual compression test.

Missing threads

Mildly infuriating. Just installed a brand new 6 speed in this package delivery truck and when I went to put the cover on the bottom of the bell housing I found out they hadn’t bothered threading the holes! Of course I didn’t notice before I installed the trans. Was a serious PIA to tap them in the truck.

Update on the donut hole three

They’ve gone too far this time. Nothing in the kitchen is safe from their assaults , I came home to a large puddle in the kitchen and tho I’m glad it wasn’t cat pee, I was a bit shocked to find somebody had knocked a case of coconut water in the floor and punctured a box. I guess they didn’t like it.

Not the donut holes!!!

We woke up this morning to head out to the kitchen for some nice donut holes only to discover that an elite criminal team had descended into the kitchen first. The suspects are Cinnamon cat, Willow, and Anonna. We’re still waiting for forensics to perform the bit mark analysis. Looks like they may have eaten about 4! Hope their tummy’s are ok.
