is it worth getting a lashlift on naturally curly lashes?

I'm interested in a lash lift to define my lashes more and make them full as I have quite curly lashes but a few gaps in between. Would a lift help with closing the gaps and add more definition? I've heard there could be a risk of my lashes becoming over curled so how do i go about finding the right tech because so far every tech have said they can do it for me but I'm wary if theyre agreeing to it because of a sale instead of offering a personalised service?

is there any healthcare professionals who joined an apprenticeship for a career change?

I'm slowly finishing up my training year as an optometrist and I'm feeling a little disillusioned and demotivated in the industry. I'm considering alternative careers and so I'm wondering if any other optoms or doctors/nurses/dentists...etc have successfully had a career change via the apprenticeship route.

Thank you

Sweet smelling bakhoor/dukhoon

Hi everyone, as the title suggests I’m looking for a bakhoor that is of a sophisticated vanilla smell. Ar the moment I’m eyeing So Shay by Afansic because of its white chocolate notes.

My provider signed my titration off but I’m still yet to try Elvanse

After my RTC referral from HHM to my GP got rejected they said they’ll keep issuing my medication: Concerta 54mg and 18mg IR in the afternoon. I still feel it’s not the right choice and I’m keen to try Elvanse. I’ve exhausted most methylphenidate preparations and as Elvanse works differently I wouldn’t know its impact unless I’ve tried it so how do I go about voicing my opinion on this? My prescriber might feel reluctant so I want to sound confident enough to encourage her to let me try Elvanse.

Has anyone switched between brands to the equivalent dose or from the lowest starting dose?

I was previously on Medikient 60mg XL and now requested to move to Concerta/Xaggatin ( started with this initially and stopped at 36mg) and I would’ve thought it would be 72mg which is the equivalent but I’m back to 18 then increasing to 36 and 54. I’m not responding to it like I used to before and actually I’m kinda regretting asking for the switch and feeling like I guided my prescriber through a plan that actually doesn’t feel like it’s working.

Maybe 54mg will start to work but it’s not getting me out of bed like Medikient used to. Maybe IR will work better because I’ve never fully appreciated the extended release component of any medication yet. Once the IR is done I feel deflated.

Finally got Medikinet to last longer than 3 hours

Im on 60mg currently and really liked the 50% IR component of it as it is single handledly the only thing getting me out of bed and endure my long commute. However by 11am I’ll be hardcore crashing and fatigued. I realised I’m not eating enough (well nothing actually until lunchtime) so I had 2 protein bars that I ate on the train, a smoothie I sipped throughout the day and a proper filling meal for lunch and I still had enough energy for my afternoon clinic (3pm) so I increased its longevity by 4 hours!

I feel great knowing I’m getting the full potential of medikient but I feel sick eating that much and I have never been breakfast person so trust me I was gnawing through those bars with disgust. I just don’t know if it’s worth eating this much to get the same effect with another tablet that is low maintenance?

Does this exist- medikinet morning kick with an Elvanse smooth release

I feel like I’m surrounding a cauldron asking for advice on my next batch of sorcerous liquid but anyway

I’ve been on 50mg Medikinet XL and I LOVE the morning kick. It’s got the strongest IR component of 50% but consequently the “2nd peak” (in air quotes because I genuinely think it’s just a disguised crash) feels considerably weaker and wears off way quicker

I’ve tried xaggatin and ritalin too and preferred the sustained release but still wore off when i needed it. Next option is probably Elvanse but from what I’ve read and been told it sounds more like a smoother baseline throughout the day rather than that obvious kick.

Another option could be a top up when im anticipating the crash but I’d literally be taking it as I arrive at work because my commute is so long (1.5 hours) and I already have to reserve another hour or two in the morning just to prepare myself for the dreadful day again

I know YMMV and everyone reacts differently, but if anyone has had a similar experience to me, did you eventually find your holy grail? Was it another methylphenidate med, a combo with a top-up, Elvanse, etc? Thanks guys!!

Also another question sorry but is anyone similar to me where you need to stay focused for a LONG period of time? I’m a trainee working full time but I’m constantly being assessed, so I study every day too. I finish work at 5:30 then study until like 10/11 so I’m starting to wonder whether medication can realistically even meet those expectations 😭 okay thanks all xx

I’m getting overwhelmed with the breakfast recommendations I’m reading online. I take Medikinet XL and I know it’s meant to be taken with food but I’ve never been a breakfast person i literally can’t digest anything until 2/3pm. That plus the appetite suppression makes eating in the morning is really difficult for me.

But I’ve noticed that the 50% IR component of Medikinet releases too quickly and wears off too quickly so I should really start taking it with food now.

Does anyone have recommendations that are ideally vegetarian? What type of magnesium is recommended? If vitamin C should be avoided can I still take those electrolyte satchets that have it? Can I still take my omega 3/vitamin D and zinc with it?

Thank you all xx

I started with 18mg of generic methylphenidate then generic 36mg then I would’ve thought 54mg (as increments of 18) then the prescriber said she didn’t want to increase by that much so gave me 50mg and it’s the only box that has the name of the pill which is Medikinet.

I would’ve thought the aim is to titrate with the same type of pill. I understand there’s shortages and instead bio equivalents are given but each dosage i felt were different release profiles and I’m eager to go back to the 36mg one but i cant find a way to find the type of pill it was? My nhs app just says generic along with the prescription script.

Is anyone else titrated similarly to me?
