New Brothers Join the Fight

Here's a few units of Primaris marines that I recently picked up and built- two units of Suppressors, one unit of Inceptors, and one proxy Desolation squad. All with Silver Skulls pauldrons.

As I purchased these from someone else, I naturally do not have links to files, unfortunately.

I'm pretty damned happy with these, and I am absolutely looking forward to getting some paint onto them as soon as possible.

These miniatures are all pinned to their bases, as I didn't feel the need to put them in the air, so to speak.

I don't care that the Suppressors have gone to Legends, these guys WILL be getting deployed in future games. With the input and assistance of friends from my local gaming club, I will be reworking their datasheet and points cost for 11th edition.

Legends never die, Brothers- they just get another deployment.

Edit: I do not have stl files for these, the miniatures were purchased from a seller. After speaking with them, said seller does not want to share their files, and neither do they wish to be named or have me link anyone to them- they wish to remain anonymous and under the radar.

Further messages in my chat regarding this will be politely ignored.

A Vision of the Past... Kinda....

Hello everyone,

So, for the incoming 40th anniversary of Warhammer 40k, I have decided to make a Crimson Fists army that is generally era-appropriate to Rogue Trader, at least in appearance.

Due to difficulties in obtaining an original metal Dreadnought of the era, I am using this 3d printed example, as sculpted by BigMrTong, to represent one. This is my first Crimson Fists miniature ever, and while close to completed, I will be adding some decals and a banner as soon as I have them in my possession.

As another note, the classic Lascannon has a more modern lascannon tip on the end of the barrel after I accidentally broke the original tip- and weirdly, I kinda like the look.

The assault cannon was an option included in the kit. I can't remember if it was a valid weapon option during Rogue Trader- but it looks cool, and I can at least run it during 2nd edition games

My next post here will be a bunch of RTB01 plastic beakies, and then I'll be working on metal Terminators of the era.

I hope that you've enjoyed this little diversion, and as always- take care of yourselves, and I'll catch you next time! ^^

For All Intents and Purposes...

Hey everyone,

So now is the time where I finally get to show my first proper, now complete, Primaris Lieutenant for my Silver Skulls army. This particular officer will most likely be attached to one of my normal Intercessor squads

As shown in the WIP shots of this miniature, I have given him dark skin, and have now dotted his left eye- the other is to remain white and featureless to represent blindness in that eye.

I originally picked this miniature up after a recent 40k game where one of my Intercessors brought down an, admittedly critically wounded, Eldar Farseer in melee with his combat knife- after being wounded himself by some typical Eldar psychic shenanigans perpetrated by said Farseer. I thought that warranted an impromptu promotion.

Now, for my next post, we are going to Terminator squads.. 3 more Terminators remain to be highlighted from the first squad, and I still need to shade the second (resin) squad, then highlight it before I move on to my (resin) Heavy Intercessors.

I apologise for the potato photo quality, friends. My phone camera really wasn't playing ball today.

Thanks for checking out what I've been working on! I hope that you've enjoyed this little diversion, and as always- take care of yourselves, and I'll catch you next time! ^^

A little something

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to share a WIP of a Primaris Lieutenant that I'm working on. This Lieutenant will be attached to one of my Intercessor squads when he's done.

I purchased this model from Vinted, prebuilt, and primed in black. Again, this is WIP, so I still need to do most of the highlighting, and do the basing. Decals and varnish will follow after completion.

Also, had another attempt at dark skin, and will be painting the eyes at the end of the painting process

Oh well, I guess that's it for now- catch you all later!

Going Old School

Hey everyone, newbie here.

While it's not quite finished just yet, as I'm still to add a banner, as well as apply decals and varnish; I wanted to share my Crimson Fists Furibundus Dreadnought, as designed by BigMrTong.

Definitely going to print another one of these for my Rogue Trader era Crimson Fists army at some point, as I vastly prefer this updated sculpt over the metal originals, and it has a bunch of weapon options, and no need for magnets.

As a note, the "lascannon" has been modified with a plastic barrel tip from a spare lascannon from my bitzbox- the reason being I snapped off the original tip by accident. Truly, a fate worse than death. In the end, I kinda like the look better now.

Please bear in mind that I'm horribly arthritic, and my painting isn't what it once was.

Regardless, I hope you garner some enjoyment from this!

Greetings, Newbie Here

Hello, one and all!

I'm a long-term Space Marine collector and player (since Rogue Trader,) and I'm feeling the need to branch out and broaden my horizons. I must admit, I am finding myself drawn to the Adeptus Custodes after seeing their new miniatures teased a while back, yet I honestly know next to nothing about the Custodes apart from little snippets here and there.

So my question is this: Would it be worth just going and purchasing the Codex straight away in order to get a decent handle on the lore? What further reading would you recommend?

I'm sorry if this is a frequently asked question, I'm just kinda trying to find a good place to start with this.

Thanks in advance!

Sons of Varsavia

Hello everyone,

I suppose an introduction is in order. I am Arthur, and I've been in the hobby since the heady days of Rogue Trader, where my first army was the Silver Skulls. Fast forward to more modern times, and I decided to revisit the Chapter again as a Primaris army- my first Primaris Marines of any Chapter.

Now, a few little caveats here:

Firstly, my painting skills aren't what they used to be, as I have tremors along with arthritis in my hands these days. Oh, the ravages of time...

Secondly, I haven't yet been able to pick up suitable decal sheets for this army, though I will do so as soon as funds allow.

Lastly, please excuse the image quality of the pics, as I'm currently having to rely on an old, unreliable, glitchy, and battered phone camera at present. I am, naturally, looking to upgrade as soon as possible.

With that out of the way, let's get to it, I hope you like how these miniatures turned out!

Beyond the normal Silver Skulls livery, I decided that I wanted these miniatures to be grimy, but not battle-damaged, to represent their overland march from their LZ on the rainy feudal world of Gildar Quintus, which is the location of a campaign being run by my local gaming club.

This effect was done by repeated stippling runs using the old Warpaints Fanatic Dark Tone on the lower portions of each model. It kinda looks like a thin and oily mud to my eyes at least, which is appropriate to the world they're fighting on.

You may notice some differently coloured weapons among the force, and I did this for tabletop readability- black for standard ranks, red guns for veterans, and blue for officers and relic firearms.

This is all I have fully painted thus far, though there is more to post when it's done. I have a few notable projects for this army, one of which being a (currently unpainted) Land Raider Terminus Ultra, kitbashed and built with some purchased 3d printed parts.

I will be painting all of the Marines from the Armageddon box as Silver Skulls too- they're all built and ready for undercoating right now. I do have a pair of unbuilt Terminator Squads, and two squads of Assault Intercessors as well.

I will be picking up more vehicles and some Heavy Intercessors as well- I kinda love Gravis Armour, not gonna lie! Perhaps another Redemptor would be a nice addition?

Oh, and ignore the 3d printed Warhound's feetsies in the background of many of the photos, that's not relevant here, and is a project for another time.

Edit: I am more than willing to take questions regarding what paints I used, or regarding any conversion parts used as addons here and there.

I hope that you've enjoyed this little diversion, and as always- take care of yourselves, and I'll catch you next time!

Gone, but Not Forgotten

Hello everyone,

So today I thought I'd post some photos of older miniatures that I no longer own- All of these, along with their accompanying armies were sold long ago in a time of personal financial crisis that lasted way longer than it had any right to. Please excuse the potato camera quality, as that was all I had at the time. (Truth be told, I currently have to rely on a phone camera even today.)

Now, if was asked if I had a favourite among this batch of miniatures, it would be a draw between Brother Justus- the MkIV ForgeWorld dreadnought, and the Pyre Berserker. I'm curious as to where all of these miniatures ended up, though I hope that they served their owners well, as they did for me.

Oh how I wish I had taken more photos of the miniatures and the full armies used to have, I could do with a hit of nostalgia.

Well, I hope that you enjoy this little blast from the past- if you do have any questions regarding these or any of my other projects, then feel free to drop me a comment.

Take care of yourselves, and I'll catch you next time!
