Britain’s scorched fields mean a food crisis – and the government is ignoring the one measure that would help

I'm looking for advice so thanks in advance.
I retired aged 60 in May and intend to live off my savings until I reach the state pension age. My work pension is with TPT and I hoped to take the full value as a lump sum. The value I have been quoted was above £36000.
Today I received a letter saying that as the value is over £30000 the largest lump sum I can take is £11908 and an annual £554 leaving a residual DC fund of£24643. I don't understand this. Is there £36k in my pension pot and if so why can't I have it now?
Best wishes
