This is me, what about you all?
Leftist is very easy to put into the mainstream, you love the current world and just want peace, healthcare, and education. Socialist is a bit harder, you say you want to end this system but via liberal methods, how many people will fall to violence of this system in the meantime? Nobody knows. Communist is the hardest and can't be co-opted at the moment but it's a word for people who want a better world for a group, they might not say it and not even believe it but the world they're building is for a certain group and not everyone in the world. Anti-money is a phrase I have never seen being meant anything other than a complete opposition to class society and the evils it bred, not just capitalism but class society as a whole, it knows the problem didn't start with capitalism, capitalism is the most advanced form of the problem. Thus it knows that the greatest evil today is the highest stage of capitalism which is colonialism and imperialism, other groups think that the manifestation of these great evil can be channeled into anything good, copius consumption, economism, extractivism, separating environment and people who live in it, blind technological development, people literally think these can be turned into something good. You can see self-proclaimed communist who love Gen AI a technology that can't ever be environmentally friendly due to the amount of compute it needs let alone the other resources, a technology that is the definition of colonialism due to its homogenizing nature, a machine built on exploitation of people's labour and data, we all know how much harm the algorithms of platforms like youtube do by data harvesting and then reducing human beings to mere data points now imagine that but x1000, that's the face of this tech but these self-proclaimed communists think there's a place for it because they apparently don't believe in intellectual property and not allowing people and labour of artists to be turned into data points will end up promoting intellectual property. You can see people defending the shallowest standard of capitalism, self-proclaimed communists say "dress well" "do good in school" well on face they sound fine but the moment you dig even a little deep they reveal their true nature, "dress well" is code word for dress in the way your region considers "normal" to find a partner and then start a family, "do well in school" means that grind yourself to dust in the education designed by your oppressors, these love to say things "I am sorry I don't know how deep your personality by just having a single look" well how about you don't judge me by a single look then. But anti-money as a movement as a phrase tackles everything together as a whole instead of thinking of them as a segment, it is all connected. I really can't appreciate this subreddit enough because of how clear its message and its posts are, this subreddit truly embodies to me what it means to be a communist to me, it never tells me that I am not worthy of life because I couldn't do well in stem, it always encouraged its participants for real life action. The mod team is also quite active and very principles as far as I have seen, it is amazing how much the mod team in this subreddit works for the good of the community in this subreddit, so I want to thank everyone who volunteers as a moderator here and of course thank this community.
I am from India and at most I see people using it to chest on their homework and that's it. Most of the time it is just a toy and nothing serious people consider, my family used it during the Ghibli trend or to edit photos in stupid ways but that's it, I feel like I am being gaslit by European/North American ai/tech bros that somehow China, Singapore, India, Japan, South Korea are particularly accepting of chatgpt and just change in general and these anti-ai (specifically anti-data center) people are just backwards. I feel like this is a lot of orientalism like how anything Japan does is magically something from 2100. People love pretending that artists in these places are incorporating chatgpt and other stuff so well and are "changing with the times" as if one of the most beautiful games to come out last E33 which used llm/gen-ai in production process wasn't western. It feels like those nfts guys that talked about "NFTs are accepted in Singapore and India, if we don't follow we'll be left behind here".
