Day 29 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: The Day I Die

Day 29 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: The Day I Die

These songs are all randomly selected from my All Vocaloid/Vocal synths playlist. Today's song is "The Day I Die" by KIRA feat. Ruby.

I'm surprised I didn't find out about this song until quite recently. KIRA is a top producer for me, and Ruby is one of my favorite Vocaloids (rip to her being discontinued and fairly unused). I also think this might be the first song with her that KIRA made.

It's great. It isn't often Ruby gets the spotlight, and I love this song a lot. If you haven't heard it, you should. It's a classic KIRA song and a classic Ruby song.

"Breed" to be used as the opening theme song for upcoming Yuri Anime "The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All"

I wasn't sure what flair to use for this, but this makes me so happy. Upcoming in January 2027.

Day 28 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Beautiful Nightmare

All of these songs are randomlg selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 600 songs. Today's song is Beautiful Nightmare by Hachioji-P feat. Megurine Luka, which was released on September 2, 2015.

The EDM sound here is very much up my ally, with the grinding synths throughout alongside the drum machine and solid vocals from Luka. The chorus is extremely catchy to boot, with lyrics very fitting of the song's title. "Round and round, I find myself in a dream once more. Twist and turn, I’m still stuck in a dream. Is this my punishment for wishing for a curse as I longed for a kiss from a prince? At least, please let me dream a happy dream."

Definitely a solid pick for your Megurine Luka collection.

Days 26 & 27 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: The Theory of Loving Each Other & 118

These songs are all randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 600 songs.

I missed yesterday's post, so we have two today. And we just so happened to get two different DECO*27 songs from two different albums.

The first is The Theory of Loving Each Other, which was originally released on April 23, 2009, and then later included as the title track of DECO*27's first album in 2010.

The Theory of Loving Each Other is one of DECO*27's earliest songs, and as much as I love his recent work, I can't help but miss this chill, more sentimental vibe his early music had. I also love the multiple guitar tracks holding different parts. And I love the strings that carry the chorus and instrumental refrains. My favorite lyric is "Just like loving one another Just like laughing together and hurting each other. Just like the clashing unrequited feelings struggle to become a mutual love."

The second is 118 (or iiya), released August 5, 2016, and later included on the album GHOST on September 28, 2016.

118 is just a great, middle-era DECO*27 rock song. I love the drum groove, the guitar riff, the way the synth instrumentals blend into the mix. I also love lyrics like "but now, whenever I hear you say you love me, it just makes me hate you."

Check out both of these songs if you haven't heard much DECO*27 pre-2020. These two are great examples of his early and middle eras respectively.

My favorite vocaloid songs as a newgen - huge update

Okay, so I made a post showing my vocaloid playlist about a month and a half ago. And it feels a little weird to post another one so soon, but there's good reason. Since then, I have taken in a ton of recommendations, and the number of vocaloid songs I know has gone from ~150 to 600. So, I trimmed this playlist down to just my absolute favorites, the top 1/3 of all the songs in my library. My favorite 200 vocaloid songs.

I would like to post this as a recommendations post for anyone looking to expand their playlist. But I also am curious for feedback here. If your favorite song isn't on here, comment it, and I'll let you know whether I haven't heard it or if I have and it didn't make my top 200. If you have questions about any of my picks, feel free to ask!

Also, since I think it would be fun. Try guessing my top 3 vocalists and top 3 producers.

Day 25 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Toeto

These songs are all randomly selected from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 597 songs. Today's song is Toeto by Toraboruta-P feat. Megurine Luka, released February 17, 2009.

This is a very early Luka song, released less than two weeks after her voicebank, and it's one of her best. I love the very acoustic instrumental. And the lyrics are sad but also very cute. "I want to convey my true feelings, but Toeto will bashfully refuse that. When it counts, when it's important, Etto, etto, er, eto, er, e-Toeto." Etto basically being the Japanese equivalent of uuh or um.

This is a really sweet and relaxing vocaloid song, and everyone should check it out if you haven't.

Which version of "Revelation of the Daleks" should I watch?

I'm watching all of Classic on the official Youtube channel, and there are two different uploads of Revelation of the Daleks.

One upload from a year ago is labeled "Revelation of the Daleks (4 Part Version)" and is 1:36:37. But 9 days ago they uploaded "Revelation of the Daleks" which is 1:30:20.

Can someone explain what the difference here is, and which one I should watch for the first time?

Day 24 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Teo

All of these songs are randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 596 songs. Today's pick is Teo by Omoi feat. Hatsune Miku, with backing vocals from GUMI, IA, and Kagamine Rin.

This is an absolutely essential Hatsune Miku song that blends EDM with rock elements. I love the seamless genre hopping from guitar riff to electronic synths to guitar solo to edm instrumental. The chorus is almost criminally catchy, with "kurakurakura kurakura sasete yo, yurayurayura yuragi o misete yo, kirakirakira kirameite ite yo" being so simple and repetitive that I can't believe they managed to get it stuck in my head.

I also love the lyrics "Don't avert your gaze! Keep it straight. Nothing will stop us at this point. Until the magic wears off - until then, Hold on tight to my hand, my hand!"

If you don't have this in your playlists, you should. Listen to it!

Day 23 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Laplace's Chocolat

These songs are randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 592 songs. Today's pick is Laplace's Chocolat by Kai feat. Hatsune Miku, released on February 14, 2024.

This was genuinely one of the first Vocaloid songs I heard, back in 2024 when I was really getting into Vocaloid. I was browsing Nico Nico to find more songs back when I knew less than 20 Vocaloid songs that were all Hatsune Miku.

This is a catchy, bright tune released for Valentine's Day, and it gets stuck in my head so often. Definitely give it a listen if you're looking for more genuinely cutesy songs.

Day 22 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Mimicry

These songs are randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 560 songs. Today we have Mimicry by Steampianist (Project OverDoze) feat. Ruby, released on October 30, 2015.

Yesss Ruby my beloved. This song definitely has one of the more unique tunings of her that I've seen, and the song is an absolute banger. You don't normally see her voicebank being used for songs like this, and it absolutely works for like the spooky rock vibe. The chorus is also just so catchy.

If you haven't heard much Ruby, definitely give this one a try. And if you are a fan of Ruby, it's one you need to have in your collection.

Day 21 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: Yesterday, Everything Returns

These songs are randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist, which currently has 550 songs. Today's pick is "Yesterday, Everything Returns" by kikuo feat. Hatsune Miku, released on February 7, 2019, and then included on the album "Kikuo Miku 6."

This is definitely the most abstract and musically confusing song picked so far. When I first listened to the album I didn't even realize this song had Hatsune Miku on it because her vocals are so distorted and buried in the soundscape.

The lyrics are no less confusing, but they seem to be about someone who has forgotten their childhood, which is actually something I directly relate to. So that's something. Otherwise it's pretty difficult for me to parse.

My favorite part of the song is 2:19-2:40 when Miku's vocals come in more clearly, only for the instrumental to come back with a vengeance.

Check this out if you are really into Kikuo but haven't heard some of his deeper cuts like this one.

Day 20 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synths playlist: innocent girl

Today we have landed on innocent girl by kagomep feat. Kaai Yuki, released as the title track of the innocent girl EP on July 19, 2010.

Alright, fair warning that this song absolutely will not be for everyone. Musically, the vocals aren't very melodic, mainly relying on the groove of the instrumental and the rhythmic cadence of the Kaai Yuki vocals.

But the real reason this song will not be for everyone is the lyrics. The opening lines are "Hello baby. How old are you? a-ha? I'm 9 years old. Hey Mr.? I will teach you. Love Love Love sweet pie!" And if that's a dealbreaker for you then I would absolutely avoid this song.

BUT, the rock instrumental is so good, and I like the pretty unique way kagomep used Yuki's vocals here. The English lyrics aren't very intelligible, but there's definitely a flow to it that's addictive and can't be found in other Yuki songs. The lyrics are also very unique compared to other songs that deal with similar topics.

I love it, but enjoy at your own discretion. Here is the link to the music video which has the lyrics: https://youtu.be/kDd\_5RZGsso?is=KhrEfXIWtTn0iabB

Day 19 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synth playlist: Yurail by inabakumori

These songs are all randomly selected from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synth playlist, which currently has 545 songs. Today's song is Yurail by inabakumori feat. Tsurumaki Maki, released March 7, 2026.

This song is a rare case of inabakumori using a vb other than Yuki, and while Yuki is my favorite, inabakumori is great with Tsurumaki Maki as well. The vocals are so clean and punchy. I also love the drums/bass/guitar groove that is just a vibe I can't sit still while listening to.

The lyrics are painfully relatable, especially the first chorus: "To and fro, I'm swaying, I'm swaying. I don't have the strength to move on my own. Back and forth, I'm wavering, I'm wavering. As soon as I start to care, I've lost."

I have yet to find an inabakumori song that's anything less than great.

Day 18 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vocal Synth playlist: Secret After School

These songs are randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid playlist, which currently has 543 songs. Today's song is Secret After School by natsuP (SCL Project) feat. Hatsune Miku, MEIKO, Kaai Yuki, Nekomura Iroha, Kagamine Rin, Megurine Luka, SF-A2 miki, GUMI, Lily & Camui Gackpo.

Wow this song has a lot of vocalists, some of which I was first introduced to via this song like Nekomura Iroha, SF-A2 miki, Lily, and Camui Gackpo. The one thing I will say against this song is that, because there are so many vocalists, none of them really get to shine individually. But the collective result is awesome. Just a catchy, non-stop ensemble number from every well known female vocaloid at the time of its release.

Definitely check out this classic, but also check out some of the singers here if you haven't heard of them.

Day 17 of recommending a randomly selected song from my All Vocaloid/Vsynth playlist: Today's song: Kirai Kirai Kirai tte

Two Kikuo songs in a row. These songs are all randomly selected from my All Vocaloid playlist, which currently has 541 songs. Today we got Kirai Kirai Kirai tte by Kikuo feat. Qixuan, released with the album Kikuo Miku 7 on March 21, 2023.

This is also the first song selected that uses the ACE AI voicebank Qixuan, which Kikuo started using more frequently during this era.

This song is lyrically interesting and musically *very* much a vibe.

My favorite lyric from it is basically the thesis of the song "How nice it would be if I could say it, how wonderful it would be if I could hate you. I want to, but I cant, I can't, I can't."

I also love how the music gradually changes over the course of the repeating "kirai, kirai, kirai, kirai." Most of the lyrics are pretty repetitive, but the music really gives it this intense, frantic feel, as if Qixuan is yelling this out of frustration. Or perhaps holding back a yell since her singing is actually fairly measured.

I doubt this song will be for everyone, but I love it.

"Do you see Rin & Len as siblings or lovers?"

Yes. I do see them as siblings and lovers.

In all seriousness, my real headcanons for Rin & Len are entirely based on the song Adolescence by SignalP and I will die on that hill.

Does anyone know any other Rin and/or Len songs that do the sibling ship thing like Adolescence? I need more of this please.

Day 16 of recommending a randomly selected song from my Vocaloid/Vsynth playlist: I'll Forgive You Even If You Die by Kikuo feat. Hatsune Miku

Today we have a dark one, this time dealing with death and possible suicide.

This is I'll Forgive You Even If You Die by Kikuo feat. Hatsune Miku, released with the album Kikuo Miku 2 on August 11, 2012.

I've always found the lyrics to this one to be especially sad and hitting close to home, and the song itself is gorgeous.

There's a lot I love about the different synths and sound effects used here, but I also want to point out that I also really love the drums, which isn't something that usually gets the spotlight on electronic vocaloid songs.

Check it out if you're up to the darker themes and want a good representation of early Kikuo's music.

Day 15 of recommending a randomly selected song from my Vocaloid/Vsynth playlist. Today's Pick: Over!

These songs are all randomly selected via shuffle from my All Vocaloid playlist, which currently has 533 songs. Today's pick is Over! by iyowa feat. Hatsune Miku & Kaai Yuki.

My favorite vocaloid duo today: Miku & Yuki. It's also iyowa who is just incredible.

THOSE HORNS!! its addictive. This song is just such a banger.

My favorite lyric in this song is "The moon rises and I'm still lonely. Before I overheat, I'll break into a run, from here until daylight comes. It's not an illusion, right? You're really here with me, right? I'm sure that we can be friends. I'll reach you over!"

This song is just so good. One of the many iyowa songs that you've just gotta experience.
