Dealing with greasy hair after getting scalp staples and having to go to work?

Long story short, I got a work-related scalp laceration (nobody's fault, total accident) and had to get 6 staples to the head last Saturday. The wound is near the forehead but not visible apart from the huge patch of gauze I have to wear, presumably until it heals.

The issue is, I can't wash my hair until I get these staples out. The doc told me she can't really estimate how long until I can take them out yet, as it's only been 3 days. I know online it says after 48 hrs you can gently wash around the area but she said to hold off on showering entirely for a bit so I'm following her instructions.

I have to return to work tomorrow, but my hair obviously smells pretty bad, and it will only get worse until the wound heals up. My desk is in a position where all my coworkers have to pass by me multiple times a day while I'm sitting down so they will get full scalp stank lol. I think my only choice to keep any dignity is to cover it up somehow but with what? What's the most professional way to go about it? A bandana? Hoodie? Just tie up what I can and hope the stank gets trapped? It's a more casual workplace, thankfully, but still an office job.

I have medium-long wavy/curly hair. Also just considering being suuuuper careful and washing just one half of my head and as much of the crown as possible, but I'm a clumsy person.

Advice would be much appreciated, especially from people who have been in my position before!!!

How long does daily media monitoring take you??

I've just started my first PR job (4 days in) and have been conducting daily internal monitoring for one of the team's accounts for 3 days. The first two days took me 2 hours and today it took about 1hr40. I already have a list of keywords and in our country we basically have one portal through which all news is distributed so searching for articles isn't the hard part... determining which ones are relevant and which aren't is. How do I get faster and what should be the goal time? Around when should I expect to get significantly faster if the only solution is to keep practicing? I feel like I've studied quite a bit on the industry but maybe I don't know enough, or maybe it's my self-doubt (e.g. is this article really relevant to the client's needs?)/perfectionism? How perfect/high quality does daily monitoring need to be???

Will roaches tag along in CD albums?

I'm in a very frustrating situation. Long story short my father is currently living alone in a different country and has been for just over a year ever since my mother flew to mine and started stayimg with me. That apartment was pest-free as much as it could be in a tropical climate when my mother was there. Cut to today, and he has only just told my mom that a german cockroach problem has developed alongside a menagerie of other bugs (fruit flies, bedbugs etc). He claims it doesn't bother him so he won't do anything about it.

We keep all of our CDs in a wooden drawer in our TV stand, from what I can tell it's not really a humid zone but it is dark and enclosed as it is not opened often. I should have brought them with me when I last visited two years ago but at the time I was in between places and not in a spot to bring more clutter. Now I am considering asking my dad to bring all my CDs when he comes to visit this August but I'm afraid they'll have roaches/roach eggs in them and he'll be bringing them to my place. I'm also afraid whatever suitcase he brings will also have roaches.

My question is: how likely is it that the albums have been infested? The apartment he's in is pretty spacious and I think the roaches are still likely moreso near the kitchen area but the living room where the TV is isn't that far off. I would prefer to go there myself and bring my albums but A) I do not want to step into a cockroach infested home and B) I likely won't have the time to go back for at least a year because I just started a new job.

Rescinding accepted internship offer

Just as a heads-up, I'm like 99% sure I am going to go through with this, but I just wanted to get some advice/opinions.

In May, I got accepted to a 3-month-long internship A that had 0% chances of turning into a full-time position. I was due to start next week. But in the meantime I interviewed for a different internship B (6-month-long with what seems like a decent conversion rate into a full-time position) that I had applied for before getting accepted into A.

I got the notification today that I got accepted into B, which starts July 1st. For career advancement, B is the better option. However, I feel really bad for cancelling on A so last minute. I didn't sign any contracts yet but I did hand over some documents so that they can get my ID and all prepared. To be fair, A is known for hiring a lot of interns, so I'm sure this happens all the time, but it still sucks having to go back on my word especially because I'm very much non-confrontational.

Both A and B are agencies and I'm hoping to go in-house after this position so I don't think I'm ever going to apply to A again, but never say never and it's a pretty famous agency in the field (marketing) so it hurts me to think I'm burning bridges.

I can't get in writing (i.e. signed contract) that B is for sure set in stone since it starts later than A is supposed to start... but I did send over some documents already so fingers crossed they don't suddenly cancel on me.

Any advice to calm my nerves? Reassurance that I'm doing the right thing for myself? It's definitely better to back out of A now rather than go for a week then quit, right?

So my boyfriend is from the US (GA) and he doesn't have a passport. This hasn't been a problem as for logistical issues we haven't been able to meet for a while. I have visited him once before. We were originally planning to meet at the end of this year due to scheduling issues on my end, but an opportunity came up for him to come visit this summer (June~early July) literally today.

Now we're wondering if it's worth booking a flight? If we wait for him to get his passport I'm afraid the ticket prices will be absolutely insane, as I hear even with expedited delivery US passports take like a month to receive. Can any US citizen who recently got their passport tell me how long it took? Feel free to weigh in otherwise as well!

It's a somewhat low-stakes dilemma so I'm not all too serious about it, but I am going to be slightly salty if this trip doesn't work out so I can't lie, I'm hoping I get some positive affirmation. But if this plan genuinely sounds too risky or unfeasible please let me know so I can give up on my hopes early 🙏
