Did we make the wrong choice? Verona with kids instead of Bologna?

Going to Verona in a couple weeks with our toddler and baby. We were going to do Bologna but the airbnb situation just worked out better in Verona. Did we mess up? Bologna seems awesome, but the food situation seemed a bit harder with kids (we wouldn't want to bring them to a nicer restaurant)

It's not too late to change our minds and do Bologna instead. Which is better for little kids? And the parents haha

Austria or Switzerland next? What country is a must for me next? Adding on to a Germany trip

We are doing two family trips in the next two years. One in early summer, one in early
December. both to southern Germany

I want to explore Austria and Switzerland but wasn't sure which country I should start with?

for Austria I would love to do Vienna and Salzburg

for Switzerland I would love to do Bern, Lucerne, and Zurich (though maybe that is overkill)

Is one country better in summer than winter? I know Vienna is a famous Christmas market town.

Which city is a must? Which ones can I skip?

I love a beautiful old city on a river. My favourite European cities are Rome, London, and Munich

We have two trips to Germany coming up, one in December of 2027 and one in summer of 2028. What cities/towns are musts?

Planning an anniversary trip with my husband in December 2027. We want to do Christmas markets and were planning on doing at least 4 days in Munich. We love to train though and want to explore more towns or cities! What cities or towns are musts for Germany in December?

We have down Rothenburg ob der Tauber before, and don't need to do it again.

Summer 2028 is a family trip with kids and grandparents. We will spend time in the Black Forrest but my inlaws want to explore southern Germany more. They want to do the Bodensee. Are there any other cities/towns that are best in summer?

Some places we are considering

Nuremberg, Bamberg, Heidelberg, Friedrichshafen, Stuttgart

But most of us have never been to Northern Germany so I know I may have huge gaps.

Is the baby bjorn travel crib worth it? Going on a 8 week trip with 2 under 2, (23 months and 7 months) and want sleep to be as good as it can while also not lugging something huge [mb]

I have seen lots of people talk about how the mattress is plush and nice, but a few people said their kid seemed to find it too hard.

Also do people fit in their big suitcase? Or has anyone strapped it to their suitcase?

We own a Graco with an extra mattress pad also but it is so big and clunky, but our toddler doesn't seem to mind it.

What travel crib do I buy for a trip overseas? [mb]

We are travelling for a few weeks with a 23 month old and a 7 month old.

We have a Graco for home but this feels quite heavy and bulky for our trip. We will be flying and then taking multiple trains and setting up in a few different places.

I would love to get a travel crib that could work for either of my kids but that is also light and portable, does this exist?

I know of the guava lotus, I'm worried it will be too small for my toddler?

And then there is the baby bjorn, but same issue?

I have heard of Phil and Ted's but Im worried the air mattress is too thin?

what do I do!

Do I get rid of my peonies for hydrangeas?

We bought a house that came with two peony plants in the front bed. They are really lovely but I'm bummed out by the short blooming season. Even though I don't love a white flower, I do like hydrangeas and love the long flowering season

My two problems are, I only get about 5 hours of sun, from 830-130sh

And what kind do I want? I know panicle or smooth are hardiest, but what is a good variety if I want one about 3-4 feet high

Notes on our itinerary? Bringing kids! Are we nuts?

Going to Italy for 8 weeks. Bringing 2 under 2. Have grandparents or friends visiting almost the whole time. Would love to know if we are doing too much, especially since my husband and I disagree on how to end our trip

arrive in Rome Aug 29-Sept 3

Go to Maiori or Minori Sept 3-17

Sept 17 - Oct 19 Siena (this is our current plan, which I want to change) to

Sept 17 - Oct 3 Siena

Oct 3 - 11 ish Verona or Bologna

Oct 11 -19 Bologna or Verona

Oct 19-23 Rome (and fly home)

I would cut out the whole Amalfi Coast personally and do Puglia but my husband loves pizza so really wants to be near Naples.

Flying overseas with a 24 month old and 7 month old, do we bring carseats?

What have you found helpful for long flights with kids, especially the toddler? Our baby is a lap infant so we won't bring anything for him, but our toddler we are less sure about. He is a bit behind so I don't think he will get the concept of staying in his seat lol. I have considered the cares harness, but my sister really thinks we should bring a carseat

When we get to Europe we are hoping to only use trains, are we being naive?

Tri fold travel stroller or umbrella stroller?

We are travelling to Europe soon. I keep going back and forth about what strollers to bring.

Do people find travel strollers easier or umbrella strollers?

Double strollers in Italy?

We are travelling around Italy for a few weeks with our 24 month old and 7 month old. We need some sort of stroller for both of them.

We will often have extra hands (friends, grandparents)

Should we do two travel strollers? One double travel stroller? What do Italians with two kids do?

What strollers to bring to Italy for two babies

We are travelling to Italy for a few weeks in the fall. We have two little ones. We are debating between bringing two travel strollers, or trying to find a narrow double stroller.

We would love to do what is convenient for the locals as well as our family

Would love any and all recommendations

Double travel stroller recommendations for Europe?

Going to Europe for 8 weeks and need a double stroller situation for our 24 month old and our 7 month old.

We have a singular Uppababy Minu and have considered getting a second travel stroller and using connectors to attach them but this seems like it could be quite bulky and wide? But then we could go out with just one stroller if needed

Or do get a double travel stroller?

All recommendations welcome!!

Travel stroller ideas for Europe?

We have a singular uppababy Minu but are going to Europe for 8 weeks. We need a stroller for our kids and are unsure if we should just get another single travel stroller and use connectors to attach them or if we get a double travel stroller instead

all recommendations welcome!

edited to add: we are going to Italy! Rome, Amalfi Coast, Siena, maybe Verona or Bologna and Florence. We are going to try and not drive but might rent a car in a pinch or get to and from the Amalfi coast (not rent, just take a van or something)

We are still deciding about bringing car seats as well vs renting when we get there if we need
Ideally all trains, occasionally buses and walking

Do I run to lose weight or lose the weight then start running?

Postpartum from baby #2. Have run the last 10+ years, stopped running during both pregnancies. I ran a little in between baby 1 and 2, but got pregnant 8 months postpartum so there wasn't a lot of time in there haha.

I have never been this heavy 206 lbs and 5'4".

My previous heaviest weight before babies was 160, I was 175ish when I ran between babies.

I have tried running a little bit and it hurts my joints in a way I have never experienced. I am starting to eat in a deficit and have lost a few lbs.

I would love to know, should I just start running and do small amounts/whatever is comfortable/what I can manage and slowly build my way up? Or should I lose some weight first and then get back into running when it would be a little easier on my joints?

What have people had more success with?

We are going to Italy from Aug 29-Oct 23. We will have a 2 year old and 8 months old. We will have grandparents along for the majority of the trip, and often friends.

We don't need to do the touristy things as we have done them before. We are mostly interested in eating great food, walking around, and just living life in Italy. Our current itinerary is

Aug 29-Sep 3 Rome (this is where we are flying in)

Sep 3 - Sept 16 - Amalfi Coast - either staying in Amalfi/Maori or potentially Ischia (I would love Ischia while my husband prefers Amalfi Coast - we have been to Amalfi coast before but never Ischia)

Sept 16-Oct 19 Siena

Oct 19-Oct 23 Rome - then flying out of Rome

I am debating changing the end of the trip to

Sept 16-Oct 4 Siena

Oct 4-Oct 19 Verona or Bologna

We will have grandparents for all our transit days from city to city. We have been to Rome, Siena, and Positano before. We have also been to Florence, Pisa, Naples, Milan, and Venice before.

Would Bologna or Verona be better for a young family? Or should we just stay in Siena?

We will have help getting there and leaving, but will have a week there by ourselves
