High prolactin

Hi, I have been TTC for 2.5 years and finally got my prolactin checked and it’s high. It’s is 50.9 ug/L and the ref range is 4.2-28.2 ug/L. Is this super high or barely out of range like chat gpt says? (I can’t see my doctor for a week)

If you had high prolactin, how long did it take to conceive after finding out?

Minor insulin resistance?

Hi 👋 I was recently told that my bloodwork looks like I could be pre diabetic and dealing with some insulin resistance. After some reading I feel like this fits. I have tried tracking my blood sugar with a glucose meter and I’m in range but barely. I also haven’t been able to be that consistent with it. I am thinking about going to my pharmacy tomorrow and buying a continuous glucose monitor that I can try for the week before I see my doctor next but I don’t know what to ask for. I could wait for my appointment to ask for a prescription but I don’t want to lol I think this could be the missing link for my infertility and I’m too impatient. Any advice would be appreciated.

Rant! And looking for advice

I have been working on this quilt on and off since October and it’s going really well. I took a long break cause I was scared of the basting part and ruining all my hard work on the top. I finally got the courage up to just go for it and I don’t have enough thread for the top stitching! I’m pissed off because I went to a quilt shop for all of my supplies and asked how much thread I would need and the worker handed me two spools and said that’s good. I should have known better (I kinda did I took an extra) but I’ll have gone through all three spools by the time I’m half done.

Now I’m wondering if I can get away with doing half the amount of top stitching I was planning on. The top stitching I have completed is 5”x5”. Is that close enough to support the batting? I’ll have to use a different thread for the binding but I don’t think it would be as noticeable as having the top stitching not all match.

Thank you!

Eczema around mouth, what were your triggers?

I have been on prednisone for a bad flare for a couple months now, every time I try and taper off the first eczema to come back is around my mouth and on the bridge of my nose. I did an elimination diet and was still flaring while in the elimination phase (3 months since I couldn’t get my skin under control enough to put foods back in) so I don’t think diet is my problem. I do know I am having issues with high estrogen so I think that is a major factor. Prednisone only keeps the eczema away at the max dose of 50mg per day and as soon as I start the taper it started coming back within days.

I don’t do fragrance already and I’m not allergic to the products I am using. I have been using toothpaste with no fluoride to see if that helps. I have 100% organic cotton bedding and avoid polyester as much as possible. And my laundry detergent is tide free and clear. (Probably missing other stuff I do to help my skin but I am very careful with it). I do have a dog but I am also very careful with touching him and then my face and I keep my house very clean to limit allergens and don’t let him in my room.

Those of you who have gotten rid of persistent eczema around the mouth and eyes, what finally did it for you? I’m hoping there’s something simple I am missing that I can fix here

CPAP gadgets

A family member is giving a cpap a try but they are hating it. What gadgets are a must for making it more bearable? I’ve seen some things to keep the hose up on the wall ect.

Thanks in advance!

3 months no alcohol 28 months no cocaine

I gave up alcohol 3 months ago for an elimination diet and I’ve been feeling pretty proud of myself that I’ve been sticking with it. It made me realize I never really gave myself any credit for quitting cocaine, I think because I never felt like I had a cocaine problem but I was using it regularly twice a weekend. Now I’ve realized that any amount of cocaine is a cocaine problem lol. Anyways, I’m much happier these days and it feels good to have a clear head so I might see how long I can keep the no alcohol up too. I definitely don’t miss coke and plan to never touch the stuff again.

I have been struggling on and off (mostly on) with full body flares for ten years. Every time I go to the doctor I just get the same steroid script and nothing changes. I recently started seeing a functional medicine doctor who has run pages and pages of labs on me as well as a Dutch (hormone) test. And what do you know? I have low cortisol, estrogen dominance, minor hypothyroidism (only caught on extra tests) and leaky gut. My doctor thinks this is the cause of my full body flares, I might never be rid of eczema but fixing these things should help the full body issues I’m having.

To top it off, however my specific estrogen dominance works it has the potential to cause dna damage which causes cancer and would make me high risk for cervical and breast cancer.

I have been trying to get pregnant for 2.5 years with no luck so I’ve been through plenty of work ups with fertility specialists and my family doctor and they all told me I don’t have any issues and that all my labs looked great.

This is mostly just a rant, I’m so grateful for this new doctor that actually wants to help me get to the bottom of things instead of just slapping band aids on everything. I’ll update if things go well, fingers crossed 🤞

I am trying to make a pair of pants with a 20% cotton 80% linen blend and I can’t get past the scrap fabric test stitch! Whatever I do my fabric pulls apart in a ladder. I have a baby lock celebrate. Any help would be appreciated.
