Jio took my money for wifi that never got installed, and 4+ months later I'm still fighting for Rs 2,221

Booked a Jio broadband connection a while back. The sales guy came to my home and collected around Rs 2,800 for the installation. Installation never happened. Not delayed, never happened. I kept calling him - he stopped picking up, stopped replying. So I cancelled (got an SR number and all).

They refunded about Rs 600 and just stopped there. First they promised the rest back in 7 days. Nothing came. About a month in, I filed a grievance on the National Consumer Helpline - Jio's reply: we'll process it in 30 business days. Then they just marked the grievance "Closed" and the refund never came. Closed. For money they never gave back. How is that a resolution?

The remaining Rs 2,221.46 is still sitting with them. It's been over four months now.

Here's what I've done so far, because apparently one ask is never enough:

  1. Consumer forum - NCH grievance filed, Jio marked it closed with no refund
  2. Chargeback through SBI Card - they kept asking me to submit documents, I kept submitting, they kept closing and reopening the case. Finally got a temporary credit, then they reversed it. Useless.
  3. Escalated to SBI's principal nodal officer - they are not even bothering to reply
  4. RBI complaint against SBI Card - registered, waiting
  5. e-Jagriti consumer complaint against Jio - preparing it now

And yes, the RBI complaint is against SBI, not Jio. That's a whole second battle I never asked for - the bank that's supposed to protect you from this stuff just doesn't.

It's not even a big amount. But I'm sick of this. A company this size takes your money, never delivers, and you have to climb five levels of complaints just to get Rs 2,221 back. What about people who don't know all this exists and just give up? I think that's what they bank on.

I've seen threads here where people got their refunds in two months, three months. Four months is just crazy. Has anyone actually gotten a refund out of Jio after the NCH route failed? Does the RBI complaint go anywhere in cases like this? If there's something better I can do, let me know.

TL;DR: Paid Jio Rs 2,800 for broadband that was never installed. Four months, one NCH grievance, one failed SBI chargeback, one nodal-officer escalation and one RBI complaint later, Rs 2,221 is still with them.

Invisible mode feels pointless if macOS still shows the mic icon and it costs $150

Apparently an OS limitation, which makes this even more frustrating.

If macOS is always going to show the microphone indicator when Cluely is recording, then invisible mode is basically useless for the thing many people would expect it to do. The app itself may be hidden, but the system is still clearly signaling that the mic is active.

What makes this worse is the price. Charging $150 for a feature set built around being discreet, while a core part of that is blocked by the OS, feels kind of crazy.

I get that OS-level privacy indicators exist for a reason, but then this limitation should be made extremely clear before people pay. Right now it feels misleading unless that tradeoff is explicitly disclosed upfront.

Not trying to be dramatic, just honestly disappointed.

If the Cluely team has explained this somewhere, I’d love to see it. But if this is a known hard limitation, they really should be much more transparent about it.

Rejected in 3 minutes after applying. Is this the new normal now?

Rejection within 3 mins of applying. Thank you for the clarity, folks.
Guess better than never hearing back.

Tatkal passport police verification on rented address in Bangalore, risky with only stamp paper rental agreement?

India :My wife is applying for her first passport under Tatkal. We currently live in a rented house in Bangalore(shifted 3 months ago).

We have not submitted the application. Thinking of updating her Aadhaar address to our current rented address(this is straightforward, I know ), but right now the main address proof we have is a rental agreement on stamp paper with the owner’s signature plus the usual terms and conditions template.

I wanted to ask:

\- Has anyone faced issues with police verification in this situation?

\- Is a stamp paper rental agreement usually enough, or is it considered risky?

\- For a first-time Tatkal passport, would applying from a rented Bangalore address create problems?

\- Would it be safer to avoid this and apply using her \*\*hometown address\*\* instead?

Would really appreciate hearing from people who have gone through this recently, especially here?

TL;DR: First-time Tatkal passport, rented address in Bangalore, only rental agreement as proof. Is this risky for police verification, or should we apply from hometown(West Bengal) instead?

help: Got an offer to relocate from India to Bangkok, need inputs insights

Interviews went well for the staff engineer role; will share in detail the rounds sometime

They are offering 210k THB monthly

with one month’s joining bonus

220-230, and 2 months bonus is a norm according to other posts I went through

From my research, once they offer, they don’t really budge a lot, so how do I word it if they don’t increase?

For someone moving with a wife as a dependent, is it enough for a comfortable life?

The market seems tough.

Will be saving less, according to my calculations, since it's costlier, surprisingly even more than BLR, so I am really in two minds.

Plus, the weather seems like a turn-off Bengaluru has spoilt me. Since desk job, is it an issue when not working?

Any inputs or suggestions on lifestyle cost that people don’t usually find on the internet will be appreciated.

edit: To clarify, I know this is a strong salary in absolute terms for Bangkok. I’m specifically trying to understand whether it’s competitive for a Staff-level Agoda offer, and what recent relocators experienced in practice with tax, rent, savings, spouse/dependent setup, and bonus payouts.

Currently not working, was earning more, but have an offer in hand for 40LPA.

Should I move? Feels like it will be good exposure-wise, from a tier 3 college; haven't worked in any of the famous companies.

Any inputs or suggestions on lifestyle cost that people don’t usually find on the internet will be appreciated.

Has anyone gone there and come back with a better opportunity in India or moved elsewhere, like Europe or Singapore, with a good jump?
