Why on earth would you say this BEFORE the primary? It’s political malpractice, and aside from the merits it’s not a pragmatic move if you actually wanna win the Dem nomination in ‘26.
Thoughts? Imagine Tom Tiffany saying this about indies and Dems lol.
Why is she doing this?
Not a strong showing for Mr. UBI…I’m guessing he wrote a book no one is gonna read? Why, of all people, is he a guest on Offline?
Public Enemies, Ali, Ferrari, etc aren’t rewatchable movies…they just aren’t!
I know Bill talked about this one on a recent mailbag episode, but I wanna reiterate how Simmonscore this one is. Here are some good reasons.
1.) It’s directed by Taylor Hackford, of Proof of Life and An Officer and a Gentleman fame. He’s basically in Tony Scott territory, when it comes to Bill’s taste.
2.) It’s a sports movie, where Jeff Bridges is a WR and Lions legend-turned-actor Alex Karras is his coach. The sports content in this alone warrants a lengthy pod discussion.
3.) Rachel Ward is a smokeshow in this one, and is married to Bill’s guy Bryan Brown in real life (of Cocktail fame).
4.) Evil James Woods is always a good time, no notes (see Night Moves or Contact or so on).
5.) The Phil Collins song is a banger, one of the best ‘80s power ballads.
6.) It was always on HBO and Cinemax growing up, a cable staple.
7.) Bridges, Woods, and Karras all sweatily pursuing Rachel Ward in ‘80s Cozumel? Sign me up!
How has Bill not talked about this one nonstop??
As bad as Ted is (and will continue to be) Dolan is a much worse owner with a much more intensely acrimonious relationship with the fanbase and city he reps. Also, the Knicks hadn’t won the title in over 50 years.
Have hope, fellas. It’s possible.
So during the Scott Pelley segment…the guys go out of their way to call him a bit arrogant and pompous during his recent NYT interview (questionable analysis but okay). Then Lovett goes on to admit that he’s personal friends with the guy who fired Pelley (Nick Bilton), and joked about this guy who fired Pelley reading off a phone during his introductory meeting was just an awe shucks moment (despite being totally unprofessional). Then Tommy says he doesn’t know Bari Weiss but she seems like a nice person, from what he hears in and around his social circles.
Here’s the thing…it shouldn’t matter what your rich LA and DC friends think of these ppl. It should matter what they’re doing to our democracy. What matters is how CBS (a pillar in American media and journalism) covers the Trump admin and his rampant corruption and degeneracy. If Bilton and Weiss are willing to tarnish CBS and American journalism in service of a p*dophile r*pist wannabe autocrat then they aren’t friends to the USA nor liberal democracy nor the rule of law. Full stop.
The guys need to better compartmentalize their personal relationships and their political analysis. I have Trump-supporting family members, and I love them. However, when it concerns politics, I will not hesitate in indicating that they’re dead wrong and aiding and abetting the collapse of American democracy.
Do better, fellas.
Is he related to Dan? Every time dude speaks he gives me a near anxiety attack and rarely does his commentary have analytical substance. He’s a loud-mouthed radio guy, but without the gift of the gab and prone to poor insight.
What gives?
Why do I see these guys everywhere now? I have never seen this show and yet they are all over my timeline and I always get updates as to their whereabouts (I guess they were at the Met Gala last night?).
I’m sure these guys are perfectly nice or whatever, but they are way overexposed and need to chill.
