I bought this FlySky FS-GT3B to replace the old 74MHz remote I had for my RC car. It’s great and I really like it but it burns through batteries like crazy. I’ve heard you can mod this remote in all sorts of ways, but I really don’t know anything about the RC world and I’m completely lost. I heard LiPo batteries are great but I have no idea which one to get nor which charger to get.

I found this piece on my old Tamiya truck. I suppose it’s some sort of transistor. Can someone help me identify the piece and what it does?
I do have a multimeter if that can help figure it out.
I have installed an ESC on my old Tamiya car. It works really well but the remote range is significantly worse than before. It struggles to read the signal when I get a bit far.
I’ve heard about things like reducing motor noise with capacitors but I don’t know anything about those. How can I make the remote range better?

I bought this truck on Marketplace and have worked a lot on it since. I changed the shell, the tires, installed an ESC, and have done a lot of repairs.
I am not in any way a racecar connoisseur, just a little amateur. So it’s not really professional but still a lot of work went into it.
