Fake Casio on eBay

Fake Casio on eBay

Warning… people are selling fakes of Casios on eBay! Even the a700 is counterfeited.

Measures 7.1mm thick - supposed to be 6mm

Bracelet feels sharp

Gold color is slightly off

Module backlight is actually brighter than Casio which is kind of nice.

Box shows wrong part number.

It’s crazy how close it seems to be to the genuine watch.

Careful - there are scammers out there. Seller is refunding my money. At least that’s not a total loss.

Cronos L6033 BB54… why spend any more for a Tudor?

I own a Tudor black bay 68. Got the itch to trade it for a BB54.

Bought the Cronos to see how I’d like the Tudor - to give me a taste of the size and wearing experience.

Was not expecting it to be this good. Features a PT-5004 movement. The finishing is top notch.

Seriously see no point in spending thousands for the Tudor logo.

I legitimately would not be surprised if the parts were machined in the same factory, is that good.

I’m gobsmacked and absolutely amazed at the quality feel and likeness to Tudor. Cronos saved me a few thousand bucks! Thank you.

Now @Cronos, if you make the new blue dial version, I’ll be sure to pick that one up too.

What time is it? Who cares!

It’s not about telling the time. It’s about enjoying it. 😎🤙

u/mybigpecker — 13 days ago

Mod it or leave it stock?

A700 limited edition … don’t remember the exact model… Japanese version with reverse display…

Anyway, should I leave it alone or hydro-mod it?

Will hydromod make much difference for neg display screen? What about on a thin case like this one.

“Special Interests” - is this normal? Obsession with watches.

I wake up in morning looking at watches on my iPad. I go to bed at night, spending hours on my iPad looking at watches. And I’ll waste time during the day doing the same thing. I found one that I like, Casio, and now have 6 of the same model, a700, just different variations.

I was diagnosed with Asperger’s as a kid (I’m a 40 something person now) and now it’s just called ASD. I also have ADHD and RSD.

My wife said she thinks that my hyper fixation on watches is because of my ASD.

Does this make sense? Is there any help for this? I drive everyone crazy with my watches.

The ones I pictured above are just the ones I packed up to take with me to visit family for a few days. I have so many more and I can’t help myself :(

Does anyone else spend hours a day in aggregate looking in the mirror?

I’m a middle aged male, formerly “Asperger’s” now “ASD” with ADHD and RSD.

I have wasted so much of my life looking in the mirror. Whenever there is a mirror, I have to look at my reflection. Walking past reflective windows outside; same thing, compelled to look at my reflection. I’ll spend hours a day of if I were to add up all the time throughout, gazing at my reflection - often fixating on imperfections.

Is this an ASD thing or maybe an ADHD thing, or am I just broken? Haha.

Curious if others experience this compulsion as well.

Anyone wanna buy my Thorn T023 v2 Frogmantle? I don’t know how to fix it. Make an offer :) or trade?

EDIT: SOLD

This is Version 2 of the beloved Frogmantle. The watch is nearly perfect except for one issue. I removed the bezel because I wanted to age it, but changed my mind. I didn’t have any bleach at home like I thought I did, and didn’t feel like buying any. So I pressed it back on, but now the bezel no longer rotates. It is locked into position, but thankfully it is perfectly lined up at the 12 o’clock position. I don’t have the right tools or the expertise to fix it. I looked it up and this is what Google says:

“If a watch bezel stops rotating after being pressed back on, the issue is almost always mechanical interference. The bezel is likely pinching the gasket, or the internal click mechanism was slightly bent or misaligned during installation.”

I want to buy the ghost bezel instead and I’d like to sell this one to help offset some of the cost. There are no scratches and the clasp only has a very light swirl that can be brushed out to make it crisp as factory fresh. See attached pic.

I’ve only worn the watch a couple of times outside of my home. The movement is a good one, very healthy. See the accuracy. It’s -1.9 seconds a day and the amplitude is 302. This is a goooood PT5000. I got very lucky.

It’s a perfectly good watch even without bezel rotation, but if you’re inclined to do so, it can be fixed fairly easily as long as you have tools (that I do not) and/or are good at fixing stuff. (Which I am not).

I figured I’d start off in the thorn community before eBay or marketplace.

Shoot me an offer! DM me and I’ll get back to you asap!

EDIT: SOLD

Thanks everybody!

I seem to have a type 🤣

I seem to have met my dream watch with the Casio a700.

I’ve been an avid watch collector for years; everything from Omega, Breitling, Rolex, Tudor to most recently Chinese watches (Thorn, Watch Dives) and now Casio.

Let me tell you this… all of my “luxury” watches have been retired to their boxes now that I’ve discovered the joys of Casio watches. They all seem so pointless and pretentious. Why on earth spend thousands on a watch, when you can wear something that has better time keeping, multiple functions, and in my opinion looks so much nicer, for a tiny fraction of the cost?

In fact, each of the four Casios pictured here cost less than what a single replacement bracelet link on a Rolex costs.

Light Modifications:

As you may see, I’ve modified these watches. I’ve performed a hydromod on each, using silicone oil. The purpose of this is to give them water resistance so I can swim and bathe with them. It also makes the LCD display more legible and every angle and helps the display pop more.

I’ve also added a touch of color to the silver colored watches, using photo-correction gel filters cut to size. I’ve not modified the displays of the gold colored watches because Casio already uses a light gold tint on the modules that go into the gold versions, and I think it looks great as-is.

What’s Next?

I am waiting for delivery of the A700WEMS-1BJF Japanese market model, the one with the dark blue reverse display.

Anyone have any recommendations on other models?

The a700 was love at first sight for me, and I’ve not yet explored any other models. The vintage vibe and minimalist style speaks to me, and in my opinion it oozes class with its understated design. I think it’s a flex on luxury watches.

Do you have the same experience with a different model that you’d like to share?

TO23 Blue Bezel w/ Beige Fabric Strap… Yay or Nay?

I picked up this beige “Nylon Leather Watch Band Quick Release Waterproof Resistant Oxford Fabric Durable Hybrid Premium Nylon Fiber Genuine Leather Universal Replacement Strap” on Amazon for $18. 🤣

I thought it would match the indices nicely on the T023… and it does match them well.

Does it look too boring? Too vanilla, or “beige” I guess, or do you think it looks pretty cool?

I felt like mixing things up a lil’ bit, but I dunno. Maybe I’ll return in and get my $18 back.

Watch’ya think… yay or nah?

Lightly modded Casio a700’s for your viewing pleasure…

A few subtle, simple mods that I think work pretty well with the lovely a700.

  1. Swapped bracelets between the two.
  2. Hydromod for both using silicone oil.
  3. Photo correction gel filters: orange/green.

What do you think? I did this last month and ended up switching back to stock screen. But that got boring so I re-modded. I like these subtle tweaks… personalized to my liking.

HELP me Decide... T028 or T023? Which one should I get next?

For context, I already have the blue bezel and black bezel T023's. I'd get the ghost bezel next if I were to get a T023.

Which would you get,

(a) T023 - Ghost Bezel, Brown Dial
(b) T028 - Ghost Bezel, Brown Dial
(c) T028 - Brown Bezel, Black Dial

For those of you have both T023 and T028, which one do you like more? How do they compare in size and comfort?

Green or Orange?

Hydromod plus photo correction gel film on the a700.

Which color do you prefer?

Thorn Fifty Fathoms Homage T007.

New watch day! Just received my Thorn FF homage. What a great lil’ compact (38mm) diver this thing is! This little bastard cost me $169. Unbelievable value. I think it’s worth the money.

It’s got a PT5000 movement and feels great on the wrist. It’s supposedly made from titanium. It feels pretty light and the rubber strap doesn’t feel cheap.

It’s nice little watch. The specs on the site say it’s 13mm thick and whilst that may seem thick, the case is only 10mm and the glass is 3mm, so the proportions are actually quite nice.

Snapped a few pics at the red light while driving. Couldn’t wait to unbox it.

I’m pleased with the purchase.

The Nicest sub $200USD Watch I’ve Ever Owned - New to “Microbrands” and I’m Hooked!

I took a break from watch collecting for about 10 years or so, after getting married and starting a family, my priorities changed. Got the itch a few months or so ago and discovered “microbrands” and this subreddit.

All the brands and models I loved years ago are now so insanely expensive, that I’ve been psychologically priced out, but my eyes are now open to a whole new world of horological wonders in the microbrand space.

I don’t know exactly which rabbit hole I fell into, or the series of clicks and scrolls that led me to this brand, but all I can say is “wow” and share my good experience with my fellow watch enthusiasts.

I found this watch company called “Thorn” that makes some really lovely pieces of niche vintage watches.

I bought this model pictured here for about $175. It seems to be inspired by vintage Tudor, but also seems unique enough to stand on its own - you might call it an “homage” … it’s really quite lovely.

The finishing and materials are shockingly good, considering it cost under $200. It has a PT5000 4Hz movement, and keeps excellent time, +2 seconds/day, 0.1ms beat error, and 290 degree amplitude on my timegrapher. For what it’s worth, the PT5000 movement is mechanically the same as a ETA 2824-2, and manufactured by a company based in Hong Kong.

I can’t stop staring at the domed sapphire crystal and beautifully aged bezel, dial and lightly patina’d hands/indices. It’s gorgeous in person and pics don’t really do it justice.

I haven’t really seen mention of this brand, and wanted to share with y’all because I never imagined it possible to get so much watch for so little money.

I’m so happy I can enjoy watches again, and microbrands have made that possible!

Have a great day everyone - Happy Mother’s Day to any moms reading this :)

Have the black bezel and dial v2.1 (ordered in November 2025, received in Feb/Mar 2026) and just picked up the blue bezel v3. (Ordered April 29, 2026 and received May 4, 2026).

It’s barely noticeable, but the edges feel ever so slightly sharper on the v3 than my v2.1. I also measured the case at 0.1mm slimmer on the v3 compared to v2.

But man, does it look great. I love it. Thorn did a great job nailing to vintage aesthetic. The blue faded bezel is simply stunning and the mild patina is perfect. Not over the top like some others I’ve seen. Just enough to be aesthetically pleasing and compliment the bezel color beautifully.

The lume is also very strong. I’ve included a couple pics of the lume after walking outside from my car into a dimly lit room… the pics attached are just from a casual stroll through a parking lot and into an indoor space.

Good job, Thorn. I’ve purchased 3 watches now from you. The third is a Fiddy Fathoms that is en route now. I should receive it any day now.

PS - before you say anything about “handwatch” - this isn’t a handwatch lol. I left the watch band loose enough to have a little wiggle room on the wrist and it shifted position when I took the pics. Just enjoy pics of the watch and try not to be distracted by the crown touching an area close to the top of my hand. 🤣

Tudor homages/clomages are far more acceptable and generally far cooler than Rolex homages because Tudor, especially in the past, was essentially an homage itself of Rolex. It is the very nature of Tudor to be a more experimental interpretation of Rolex design, targeted as being accessible to anyone. So homaging Tudor is by definition, within the very spirit and ethos of Tudor. Interpreting iconic design and making accessible to everyone. Homaging Rolex, on the other hand, has an heir of “trying hard” and wishing you had the real thing.

Does this make sense or was my gummy too strong? 🤣

Dear Watch Dives,

Cartier is #2 in luxury watch sales market share, behind Rolex. The Chinese homage market is flooded with Rolex Submariner clomages.

I will happily purchase a Cartier Santos Caree or Galbee inspired homage. Miyota 9015 to keep it slim or Quartz for slim plus low cost production.

If you make this happen, I will buy one for me and one for my wife. And maybe one for my girlfriend too. 🤣
