“New” hinges

Do the newer hinges require new bands? I’m talking about the hinges that came out maybe 10 years ago. I read that is easier to align the top and bottom with them. My large has an overbite that I can’t get to go away. It must have a small gap because it’s harder to get a consistent temp right now.

HVAC Celina/Pilot Point/Aubrey/Prosper

I am interested in having a mini split installed in my garage. Can anyone recommend a service? I actually live off of 428 between Celina and Pilot Point.

I am not interested in using any of the big companies that do a lot of advertising. I have tried a couple and they send out a salesperson and are more interested in selling you a service contract than doing any actual service. . Thank you to anyone that can help.

Keter 9x7 question

I’m putting together this shed and have a Dilemma. The two doors are partially assembled off the shed. The edges are covered by a plastic bracket on the top and bottom. The side edges are covered with metal brackets. This is for both doors although, the brackets are not identical. I am trying to assemble the door that will eventually have the opening and closing hardware. Three of the four brackets fit well. The metal bracket on the hinge side does not match with the end brackets. I can install the bottom brackets and the side bracket with the door handle. When I try to install the metal bracket on the hinge side, the metal bracket doesn’t match up with the hole for the screw.

It appears that the side bracket is about 1/4 inch short. I would blame it on the door slab but everything fits fine on the hardware side.

I don’t believe that is the problem. But I haven’t figured out the underlying problem.

I realize that my description may be hard to picture. I am hoping that someone who has had this same problem will share the resolution. I have looked everywhere on line and haven’t found anything helpful.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Edit: posted on r/sheditors as well.

Keter 9 x 7 troubleshooting

I am currently putting together my 9x7 keter shed. I have 2x8 frame , 2x8 joists, 3/4 plywood for a subfloor. Patio blocks with p gravel were used to level. All of the wood is treated. It was plumb and level when I started the build.

I made sure that all the panels were straight when installed.

When I installed the last panels (front panels that are next to the doors). The left panels (3 pieces) At the top, stick up about 3/4” above the rest. I pounded with the rubber hammer and it didn’t move. I’ve removed them and reinstalled 3 times.

I know I can’t proceed without resolving this. The doors will be misaligned. I think that something is probably no longer level.

I don’t know what to check or the place that most likely out of alignment. Can anyone suggest what might be causing this or where to start troubleshooting?

Edit comment: picture is kind of wonky, like it is leaning. The sun was in my eyes and I couldn’t see what I was taking. It’s just the top of the panel that I am concerned with.

Are you getting adequate pain and anxiety relief?

When I had my biopsy, it was extremely painful, crazy painful.

Next, I had an MRI that lasted a full 2 hours and I was supposed to stay completely still the whole time. My legs were twitching uncontrollably. They came on their intercom to tell me to quit moving. AND THEY DIDN’T HAVE IT SET UP SO I COULDN’T RESPOND! My anxiety was off the charts.

I had another procedure today to put a barrier between my bladder and prostate. I talked with the doctor a couple of weeks before this procedure and explained about the pain and anxiety. He gave me a script for 2 Valium pills. Those pills did nothing. I explained that to him and he was not concerned or empathetic. It was more painful than the biopsy but a shorter duration.

I have a CTI scan coming up and am freaking out.

Those that have gone through this, did your doctor take care of trying to reduce the pain and anxiety? Or did you suck it up and take it?

How often do you type out a post or part of a post and then delete it before posting?

I’m about 50%. I hate posting and then finding that someone else said what I was thinking. I also just decide that my post is crap and delete.

(I searched before posting)
I was having the typical constipation associated with semaglutide. Then I went all in on fruits, vegetables and water. It worked. I’m pooping every other day but it is diarrhea. It’s such a relief. Is it harmful to have diarrhea this often or should I try to adjust my diet? It would be pretty hard for me to regulate my intake of good carbs and H2O any more than I already have. The diarrhea doesn’t give me any discomfort at all.

I’m building a barbecue cabinet and bought an 18 gauge stainless steel restaurant table for the top. I need to cut a 21” hole in it to fit my grill. I would love to do it myself but I don’t think I have the proper cutting device. I’d appreciate some advice on how to cut it or what type of shop could cut it for me.

FYI, I searched back and didn’t see anything. If I’m in the wrong sub, sorry. I know how irritating it can be for some new guy to come in and ask a question that has been answered previously.

I just moved into a new home. The kitchen has a very nice island. There are no electric outlets on the island, which is very inconvenient.

I found out that the electrical code no longer allows electric outlets on island sides. I’d prefer not to punch a hole in the granite for a pop up outlet. I did research on this. A couple of sites implied that the outlets can be installed after the home is sold. This seems kind of sketchy. Does anyone know if code allows an outlet on the side of the island after the house is in my possession? I’m not going to violate code so I hope that someone can answer yes.

Power is available in the island because of the dishwasher and disposal being on the island. It will be an easy job unless that circuit is maxed out.
