TXR 2025 - Best car for Stage 3?

I have managed to get through Stage 2 using the Mazda RX-8, and now in the early parts of Stage 3. Since the game's structure sort of demands that you switch ride every stage, should I switch ride again? I have already unlocked the Mazda RX-7 just in case.

TXR 2025 - Is it time that I switch ride?

I am currently in the early parts of Stage 2, and still using the starter AE86.
But I can’t help but feel like I am struggling now. I have lost to Eternal Polaris twice, and lost against two team leaders.
Could it be that the time has come for me to switch my primary ride?

TXR 2025 Question

The 2025 reboot allows us to upgrade many things: the vehicle performance, the driver skill levels, and perks.

Which one should I focus on the most?

Optimal PC settings for playing older NFS titles?

My PC setup is as following:

  1. AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT GPU, AMD Software Adrenalin Edition installed
  2. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU
  3. 27-inch 4K 240hz Samsung Gaming Monitor

Games like Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon were made way before high-resolution gaming or high-refresh-rate gaming even became mainstream.
These older games can behave weirdly if run at a frame rate higher than 60.
I don't have to worry about the resolution though, thanks to the Widescreen Fix mod.
But I am struggling to find the optimal settings that can make these games run smoothly on my PC, without the worry about crashing.

Any advice would be appreciative,

NFS Carbon - How difficult is it to control the muscle cars?

Muscle is considered the best car class in Carbon, thanks to their high acceleration, but I also hear they're quite difficult to control.

What does it take to master muscle cars in this game?

What could have been done to make NFS Carbon even better?

I am currently playing Most Wanted and plan to play Carbon next, but I would still like to discuss about the latter before playing.

Carbon, as we all know, was quite a success and is still very popular, but many feel that it wasn't as successful as Most Wanted.

Even though I am yet to play the game, I already have one complaint about it: the vehicle tier system.

In Carbon, cars are divided into three performance tiers: 1, 2, and 3.
Tier 1 vehicles are the least powerful, and Tier 3 vehicles are the most powerful, with Tier 2 in the middle.

This means that after a short time, your initial starter car would struggle to win events.

Personally, I think removing this tier system would have made the game even better.

What else do you think could have been done to make NFS Carbon even better than it is now?

If you had once chosen the Exotic career path in Carbon, how did it go?

Exotic cars are often considered least favorite in NFS: Carbon.

But if you still chose the exotic path regardless, how did it go?

It appears that you can barely spend any money on visually customizing your car in Carbon

I am currently playing Most Wanted and plan to play Carbon next, but here is something I noticed.

I have watched many YouTube gameplay videos of Carbon before, and I noticed that in most of the gameplays, players spent little-to-no cash in customizing their rides visually. I think this shows that the economy in Carbon is very tight and that the cash should be spent almost exclusively on performance upgrades.

I think I now see why Earl is the most infamous opponent in Most Wanted 2005

I have just battled against Earl, Blacklist #9. And boy, he certainly lives up to his name.

Had to take a couple of retries to beat him in that sprint race.

He totally deserves that reputation of rubber-banding.

But luckily, I managed to beat him and get a pink slip for his Evo VIII.

Carbon's starter car choices are driving me crazy.

I am still playing Most Wanted 2005 and yet to play Carbon, but I am already torn between the three starter car choices of Carbon.

Everyone knows Carbon offers three starter car choices: the Mazda RX-8 (Tuner), the Camaro SS (Muscle), and the Brera (Exotic).

The 1967 Camaro SS, according to many, is the best one, but I did hear that it has higher skill ceiling. The RX-8 has very good handling, but it's not fast and that bothers me. And the Brera... well, I am not totally sure.

88JansenP12, who is perhaps the most influential and informative Redditor in this community, said they do not recommend the Brera for the 1st playthrough. But some others say the Brera ain't that bad at all and that it might be a choice to consider, considering I can gain access to the drafter crew member and Tier 2 exotics like the Elise early on.

I am so CONFUSED. I can't figure out which career path would be the best one for me.

Can someone explain the SimRate function on ThirteenAG's Widescreen Fix Patch for Most Wanted 05?

-1 = Monitor Refresh Rate
-2 = Double Monitor Refresh Rate

For your information, my monitor is 4k 144hz.

Most Wanted (2005) - possible fix for the game crashing?

I am running the game on my 4K 144hz monitor.
My PC specs are as follows:

  1. AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU
  2. AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT
  3. 32 GB RAM

There have been two times when my game crashed, and on both times I had AMD Frame Rate Target Control (FRTC) disabled. Could the game be crashing because of the high refresh rate? I'm asking this because when I enable FRTC and have it capped at 60 FPS, the game does not crash.

Most Wanted (2005) - Close Call at Heat Level 1

I was engaged in a chase against a couple of Civic Cruisers at Heat Level 1, when two of them got ahead of me and slammed on their brakes.
I was blocked, but a quick thinking made me reverse my car into another Civic Cruiser behind me, pushing it away.
I did a reverse 180, and after some time, was able to outrun the cops.

At Heat Level 1, I already encountered a close call. The Rockport PD are definitely different from the Lakeshore PD. (I come from Unbound, FYI)

My honest opinion about 100% completion

When I was younger, I never had a chance to complete the entire game, mainly because the Extreme Events and Endurance Events are so long.

In my honest opinion, Extreme Events and Endurance Events are optional events for people who absolutely want to complete the entire game. After all, you get to unlock the ending movie after completing the Gran Turismo World Championship, which is a Professional Event.

What are some drawbacks you can think of regarding the Spec II Mod?

I am currently re-playing GT4 on PCSX2, and when the time comes, I may as well try out the Spec II Mod.

I am aware that this mod is very popular and well-received, but as the old saying goes, everything has its drawbacks.
