Completely new to the hobby, any tips?

Hi, as title says I am extremely new to card collecting and have only opened about 2 packs total.

I originally only played the games but after getting really into them I wanna start collecting a few cards of at least my favourites and set them up nicely in a binder.

Is there any particular pack I should start with? I’ve done a bit of research and packs that had my all time favourite (Hisuian Samurott) were released back in 2022-ish 🥲 and so is out of the question unless I buy the individual cards online.

More money friendly tips would be appreciated as I am still at an age where many purchases need to be approved by a parent.

Also, has there been an upsurge in the hobby? Went everywhere I saw used to have packs but were completely sold out.

My favourites are Oshawott and its subsequent evolutions, Slowpoke and its evolutions and Psyduck and Golduck if that helps for pack recommendation.

New to Sigma and Overwatch as a whole, any tips?

Hello, as the title says I have recently gotten into Overwatch because of a friend and I immediately latched onto Sigma. I am the textbook definition of a ’baby‘ Sigma main and I do feel like I could maybe change a few settings and my gameplay.

I should make it known that I do play on Switch.

All in all, should I up my sensitivity? I feel like most of my deaths are from being unable to turn around quick enough. Any other general tips would be appreciate in terms of positioning as I’ve had a few qp matches where I was screamed at for ‘flanking’ despite some guides saying Sigma was more of a flanker tank.

But then again, some guides conflict others. I don't know whether to frontline or flank because different guides say different things.

Thank you in advance.

Is it wrong to set boundaries after saying you were ‘fine’ with certain topics being mentioned previously?

(If I have flaired incorrectly or need to add a warning for mentioning certain phrases, please inform me- I am quite new to posting on Reddit.)

Hi, recently one of my friends whom I’ve been friends with for about 5 years now has started to headcanon (unofficial fan interpretation) a few characters in a shared fandom of ours as being sexual assault survivors and others as the perpetrators. (To give the sa survivor a ‘motive’ to be evil/seek revenge. A bit of a yikes for me as well, but I also don’t know how to talk to them about that)

While previously stating I didn’t mind them sharing said headcanons as long as they censor parts, they’ve become fixated on them and often share them without censoring - and sometimes describing certain scenes in detail.

And after a recent incident in my life (And many more previous ones coming back to bite me) I am simply just not comfortable with them anymore. I sent them a message explaining that I would appreciate if they wouldn’t share them anymore, but I feel extremely guilty from going back on what I said before; they haven’t replied either despite being online and I feel like I’ve said something really wrong.

It really does feel like such a nothing-burger issue, but it has started to affect me and my view of said friend. They also know about my diagnosis, do they think it magically disappeared?

Physics Practical B

Final hurdle everyone, how are we all feeling about it?

I’m pretty confident as I found a lot of past papers quite simple, anybody think CCEA’s gonna throw a curveball?

Biology Practical 3B

How did everyone find it? After hearing horror stories about the previous paper I went in quite nervous but that was shockingly easy?

How do I deal with toxicity from more skilled players as a new player?

(I hope I’m using the right subreddit for this, new to reddit too.)

Hello, as the title says I am relatively new to Overwatch, started playing last week. I’m a Switch 2 player and I understand that might make me a worse player than most when it comes to cross play.

I really like playing tank and specifically Sigma.

The only problem is that more or less every time I go into quick play I have people on my team making fun of me, and it’s really getting to me unfortunately because of how anxious I am.

It’s basically scared me into sticking to v.s ai rather than even consider quick play; and sometimes not even play the game that day at all, so does anyone have any tips? Thank you in advance.

Edit: I did what a majority of replies said and turned off text chat, it’s helped to an almost impossible degree!! First quick play match I played after I turned chat off I somehow pulled off a 37 kill victory with a potg. Super proud of myself as it’s been my best game yet, thank you all! I’ll probably be keeping text chat off until I’m more confident in my ability, until then I’ll be in blissful ignorance of what my team is saying.
