How late did you start pursuing music as a career? (and did you make it work?)

Music was always my true passion, and I always dreamt about becoming a professional musician, songwriter, composer, anything. But due to circumstances that will take too long to talk about, I was unable to pursue it that much. I can play piano and guitar and sing a bit.

Now I'm 25, doing a full-time job to get by, and I'm as far away from that dream as I can be. Most of my day goes by doing my job, commuting, and chores. Not to mention that I've become numb. I don't feel the drive and passion for anything anymore and am just trying to survive, just like everybody else in the system. And now, realistically, it's just too late.

But I still hold that dream somewhere inside of me, even though I don't feel motivated about it, nor do I have the time for it. And yes, I know I can do it on the side for myself. But I don't want just that. Not because I want fame or crazy money. I just want to do just well enough on music so I can live comfortably like a normal person and not have to do any other corporate job or something that will drain the soul out of me.

My question for anyone reading this: were you in a situation similar to mine, and made it to where I want to? How did you do it? Or if you didn't make it, how did you cope?

(Please, I don't want any motivational BS. I know you mean well, but I want some guidance from someone who is/was in my shoes.)

PLEASE Help me sleep. 😭

I've always been a natural night owl, and to add insult to injury, I naturally need a lot of sleep (around 9 hours) too.

I work a typical 9-5 job. So I have to wake up around 7.30 to 8 a.m. to get ready and arrive on time. But no matter what I do, I always sleep around 1 to 3 a.m. (sometimes sooner or later). So naturally I'm like a zombie in the mornings, and hear boxing bells when I bang my teaspoon on my mug.

I've tried everything. I worked out, tried to make myself tired. drank lavender tea and stuff that are supposed to make you sleepy. (haven't tried melatonin yet, cause I'm a bit prejudiced against pills and would rather make changes naturally, but that's just me) But nothing works! I feel like I'm slowly aging and melting away.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I'd appreciate some

How do you guys have a 48hr day???!!!!

This thing has bugged me all my life. How do some people have 48 hours in a day?!
Some people hang out with a 1000 friends, work, watch movies, spend time with family, and they're not even the grinding hard type. They just seem to have a lot of spare time on their hands.

Have you ever seen these kinds of people? Or maybe you are one yourself?

Please tell me how the hell you do it?? I never have any time to do any of these things that I like, and I'm always busy somehow and anxious about that. I'd appreciate any tips or perspectives.

Cool free phone games?

I don't have a lot of time but I like games and play when i have some spare time on my phone, like at the doctors office. For context, I recently played Reigns, which I loved a lot. I also loved Machinarium. Do you have any suggestions like these that you enjoyed a lot?

Have you ever lived an alternate reality in a dream?

ok, I know what you think, and it's not what you think. I don't mean just seeing a place and thinking oh this looks like my school but a little bit different. I mean that stuff too, but something much much deeper. hear me out:

I once dreamt that I was a medieval knight hanging out on a vast sunny green field on my horse. In the distance there was a mildly sloping hill that had a castle fort on top. There was no one around me for miles. The fort seemed empty and it had some small, hollow windows. For some reason I was drawn towards it and started picking up speed little by little.

Until suddenly, an arrow darted past my head. But instead of turning around, I started galloping harder with all my (horse's) might. A moment later, I looked up and thousands were raining down like a waterfall from the fort's windows (still seeing no one, btw). I dodged a few. But in a split second, two arrows landed in my armored chest, and the third one in my left eye. And I woke up (died).

The whole dream happened very fast but it had a very powerful impact on me for some reason. And I still don't know why I didn't turn around. The point of the dream was I wasn't me. That character was not me. I don't have his abilities, or his body. It was like spawning into the body of Michael Jackson and suddenly see that you're really good at singing and dancing. But that doesn't surprise or excite you. You can normally go on stage in front of millions as Michael did.

And not only that, I had an internal knowledge about myself. Like imagine this: Until I ask you what's your mother's name, you will not think about her name. You're thinking about what you're reading right now. But if I spawn into your body in dream, you still might not think about her name, but when I wake up, I will think oh and my mother's name in the dream was Lucy or something. Even though, no one said her name or nothing indicated that in the dream

I've had weirder dreams too, but i'm not gonna say them on reddit. this has happened to me a lot. And I'm not a superstitious guy or anything. But all of these experiences led me to wonder, are we living alternate realities in dreams? And if so, does that mean dreams are real? I mean real real, not just mind fabrications.

And I wanted to know I wasn't alone. so have you had any dreams like that, too?
