If you could only put one product on your face (apart from moisturiser) what would it be?

I’m a new mum and I’m trying to find a more low effort look. Is there a single holy grail make up product that will make my skin look more radiant? I’m not really into/ don’t want to dedicate a lot of time to skincare.

Advice given on this sub makes no sense

I see endless posts here about how to get babies to sleep better during the night, and the response is always to extend wake windows, for example, “you can see from the summary tab they need this much awake time” bla bla bla. With my 3 month old, when she has more long naps she actually has better sleep during the night.

Guess my point is, everyone seems to think they’re an expert and it’s as easy as looking at the average awake time. Could it not sometimes be the case that babies need a little more help getting more sleep in the day?

Is it time to switch?

My LO is 5 weeks old and I have tried exclusively breastfeeding from day 1. We had latch issues so had to use nipple shields, we now only use these approximately 50% of the time.

My baby wants to feed what feels like constantly, for hours, and she still gives off hunger cues afterwards. We have started supplementing with formula, and sometimes even after I have sat and fed her for an hour, she will easily finish off 150ml of formula, so I just think what’s the point? It is also putting me off going out/ visiting people as I can’t just sit for hours with my boob out like I can at home and it stresses me out.

I’m having such a hard time letting go of breastfeeding, but I can’t help but think we would all be happier for it. Combi feeding feels like too much with having to breastfeed, pump and give formula.

How to use the nuby formula dispenser?

May be an incredibly stupid question - how do you use the nuby powder dispenser/ pot that comes with the rapid cool? How many scoops does it hold? How do you fill it up (the formula scoop does not fit in the opening).

Feel like I’m starting to isolate myself.

My LO is 4 weeks old. She seems to feed really frequently which I don’t mind whilst I’m home, as I’m quite happy to sit binge watching a series whilst feeding.

However, this is really making me not want to leave the house. For example, I don’t even want to go to my MIL’s in case baby starts crying, I feed her, she still isn’t satisfied so I need to feed again. I don’t want to be sat there for hours with my boob out?

I don’t really mind BF in public - it’s just the on/off back on again and the amount of time it takes that makes me want to stay home…

It is all time consuming and I’m struggling with it, when will it become less frequent?

Struggling being far away from family

I moved a five hours car ride away from my family for university 14 years ago.

I never planned to stay away for so long, however I met my now husband and chose to stay. The only family my husband has in this city is his mum who has MS and is now bed bound.

My LO is now 3 weeks old, and I miss my family so much. I miss my mum and dad, and my sister and 4yo niece. They have been able to meet LO which I’m really thankful for, but it breaks my heart that I can’t just “pop round” for a coffee or go shopping with my sister, every time I want to see them it takes so much planning, and now it will be even more so with the baby.

I can’t say anything about how I’m feeling to my husband as the main reason we’re here is his mum and I don’t want him feeling guilty. I don’t know what I’m looking for from this post - just needed to write it out as new mamma that’s struggling!

I’m so disappointed in myself to be writing this.

My 2 week old hasn’t be able to latch consistently from day 1, so we’ve been using nipple shields which I believed were working fine.

The last couple of days, I’ve had to triple feed (breastfeed, pump, and then give bottle) as she just wasn’t happy. I’m not confident she is getting enough through the shield, even after over an hour on the boob. I can’t stand to see my baby cry and continue giving hunger cues after hours of nursing and it’s causing me great anxiety. I’m nervous to go out in case she needs feeding and I have to fumble about with the shield, and I’m anxious about making sure I’m pumping enough to have some bottles stored in the fridge.

On top of this, washing the shields, pump parts and bottles is killing me.

I can’t help but think we’d be so much happier if
we switched to formula, but I’m feeling immense guilt. LO arrived via a C-section after labour stalled, I’m starting to feel like my body wasn’t made to be a mum.
