Not a regular chainsaw user, looking to get one working

I've got a couple problems to get it running but first and foremost it idles insanely fast. I have a McCulloch mac 3516 35cc and it has a T screw, H and L. I turned the T screw in either direction and it didnt seem to make a difference. So then I tried the L screw with the T one and now it's running like i'm holding the throttle or something.

So I guess, which direction should I be turning each screw in order to slow it down and then tweak from that point? I keep shutting it off to tweak the screws because the blade is moving too much to be safe to adjust while it's on.

After I can get this figured out I can then move onto figuring out why it's stalling with the choke fully open and what needs to be cleaned out to get the air/fuel mixing correctly. I've got a carb rebuilt kit so I'll get to that issue when the time comes. This blade spinning fast on idle is too unsettling in the meantime.

Am I the only one that keeps more storage than they actually need?

I can’t pass up a good small box or container but then I find myself losing valuable space to empty containers with “potential”. Does anyone else have this problem? I do t want to toss them but I’ve spent many an evening wondering what the heck I can put inside them.

Polyurethane over tung oil timing

I’ve got some tung oil that takes 24 hours to be dry for very light sitting, a week for proper sitting and a month to fully cure. I put two coats on a
Chair and now that it’s been 24 hours since the second coat, is it okay to put a coat of polyurethane over it already?

Edit: link to Sutherland Welles botanical line of polymerized tung oil. Not pure tung oil.

Stick Chair Journal Issue 4

Chairmaking member u/stanchnick has been featured with his Layout Computer in issue number 4 of the Stick Chair Journal so I just wanted to give him some recognition. I'm sure those on this sub are Lost Art Press fans and have also seen the Layout Computer mentioned in some posts on this sub (and I've also had it linked on the right-hand links for a while now). It's pretty cool to have something you made for personal use to solve a problem get featured in print alongside your name. I'm a software engineer myself and of a similar age and can never seem to think of ways I can use my skill to solve problems outside of work so I admire those who can.

Thief Fan Missions on Linux?

I've got Thief 1 and 2 working on Kubuntu 22.02 (my graphics card cant do a newer version of Kubuntu). I set up Proton via steam and don't really understand it.

If I want to play Thief Fan Missions, is there extra work I need to do to play them? Last time I played was back in 2011 and it's my understanding there's now a different application that runs the FMs?

Tung oil finish got wet

Something wet was placed on the seat overnight. The finish is black milk paint with three coats of tung oil on top. Is there anything to do to get rid of those appearance without fully stripping it down and starting over?

Toro mower won’t start

Last year we put in a new spark plug and changed the carburetor. It would start and sputter out after five seconds. Each time. Oil was changed as well. Also the air filter is new.

This year it doesn’t start at all. New gasoline and nothing. This engine doesnt have a prime button or choke to play with. My father-in-law suggested maybe the tiny hole in the gas cap was clogged, but this one has never had a hole so I don’t think it was supposed to?

Found this and would like to patch the giant broken hole. Ideas?

It’s a mother duck and three babies ducklings following. The first duck is missing so now there’s just two ducklings. I’d like to either fully patch this hole in the back, or find a way to attach them whej it’s not a simple crack or seam to patch.

Anyone better than me that can determine the angles for the leitrim chair legs and back sticks?

The legs look to be the same angle for rake and splay on all four legs so it simplifies thing but I'd like to have a target to aim for without being too worried about it. I want to keep the roughly same vertical looking legs.

For the back sticks It's prbably a straight line front to back right? in which case I can figure out the side angles of the back sticks. But if someone knows them ahead of time, that'd be great

I know the user behind the Crooked Stool Workshop (I forget your reddit handle...is it u/NotAChef_2318 ?) made one, and I think on his post I see 13 degrees for the leg bevel. marked on the underside of the seat. He looks to have met the original angles pretty closely but I'm wondering if others agree on that angle. He did change the back sticks though so I still need to work that one out.
